I find that with being a stay at home/work at home mom I have to watch myself , because I will go to the fridge a lot and snack all day. aqua bear cd mem A few weeks ago my dad went for a business trip in Egypt and he brought back a whole load of Japanese sweets, a gift from a Japanese guy who was there. My dad gave them to me when he got back and I finally got around to eating them the other day!! Perhpaps they will need some help measuring up the ingredients.INGREDIENTS:* 100 g margarine* 1 dl (100 ml) sugar* 2 tablespoons cacao powder* 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar* 4 tablespoons golden syrup* 1 ½ dl (150 ml) coconut flakes* 3 dl (300 ml) corn flakes* (or Kellogs Special K. This past week I decided for my new years resolution I was going to focus on a more relaxed and enjoyable series. I realize that many of my regulars probably won't be interested in this style but my focus at this point in my life is try to be diverse and challenge my creative processes. This series that I have started consist of some of my favorite subjects - food and sweets! I really find them fun to paint and very relaxing compared to the very tedious style of high realism. I am able to experiment with colors, technique and textures in this series. I use impasto, stippling, glazing and many other approaches to my paintings. These three little paintings can be displayed together or individually. The idea is to capture something as simple as a jelly donut and make it art. Some say no some say "pass the coffee". How come we've never talked about food? Sweets in particular are a family favorite and lucky for me Sam is a connoisseur of some of the finer candies.
