Survey says: IU 13th on list of programs to buy
I woke up this morning to an interesting exercise performed by longtime Courier-Journal columnist Rick Bozich. The question posed to 30 knowledgeable college basketball minds was as follows: “If you were buying stock in 10 college basketball programs, which 10 would you buy and in what order?” Some of the names of those who participated (and [...]

Survey Says... Portland More Expensive, Still Liked
People in Portland love their city and their neighborhood, but an increasing number of homeowners are spending at least half of their income on housing. That led to a low percentage - 40% - of city residents who gave their neighborhood a positive rating for affordability in the city's annual survey of residents and audit of city services.Right now, there are roughly 18,464 households in Portland spending at least half of their income on housing. This is almost double the amount from ten years earlier.Other tidbits from the annual survey:* 79 percent of Portlanders say the city has good or very good livability* The city spends $1,513 per resident on services, up 13 percent in five years* Crime rates are near all-time lows, with 57.6 crimes against property per 1,000 residents and 6.9 crimes against people per 1,000 residents. For the full report, click here.

And the winners of the Republican CNN/YouTube Debates were?…Survey Says….
Winners v. Losers Winners-Huckabee was en fuego. McCain performed almost as well. Universally 99.9% of the commentary supported Huckabee as the leader. The Murky and Muddy Middle-Thompson’s last ditch effort was lack luster and according to a CNN commentator “lost without his cue cards.” His commercial didn’t stand on his principles and policy choices, and instead looked like a rabid attack dog (playing bad soundbite games) next to more presidential candidates. Losers-Rudy v. Romney seemed a bit like a cat fight as the shots were fired back and fourth. Ron Paul was lackluster and didn’t get enough coverage. Tancredo wasn’t exactly spectacular either. Key National Issues Left Off the Debate Agenda: From The Tech President chat: Micah also sez: and i’m surprised that CNN didn’t include any questions on health care, jobs, the environment, the falling dollar, outsourcing, trade, or anywhere but Iraq. Survey Says; U.S. and Iran, Sit Down and Shut Up!
And people think that the rest of the world is crazy, hmmph!A new poll of 57,000 people from 52 countries by Gallup International finds that, contrary to what might have been the case before the Iraq war; the U.S. is not the most loved and respected nation on the planet. The links below point to the story covering the poll, and the website of its sponsors. You have to know that the Bushies hate to be compared to Iran in any way, this alone makes me smile. According to a survey released by the California Reinvestment Coalition on Wednesday, very few lenders are willing to execute loan modifications for borrowers at risk of foreclosure. The San Francisco based coalition surveyed 33 of California’s 80 mortgage counseling agencies who collectively had worked with about 9,800 consumers in August. They found that the most common [...]

      Survey Says!!!
If you're married........ here's a survey you won't forget!Would you believe that people who live with each other for 25 years actually develop similar facial features? I don't just mean that people tend to choose partners who resemble them, rather that over time together couple's features actually converge. It's weird, but there's evidence for it from a singular study carried out by a noted psychologist Robert Zajonc and colleagues. 110 participants were shown photographs of men and women in their first year of marriage and of the same couples after 25 years of marriage. Then they were asked to judge their resemblance along with the chance that any man and woman were married to each other. The researchers went to a lot of effort to remove extraneous info and crop photos so that only faces could be seen. The types of choices the participants made indicated the perception was that couples became more facially similar after 25 years together. The results could not be explained by

      Survey Says
I get target fixated. If I need to find the answer to a question, I hunt it down ruthlessly. I simply don't stop till I know what the whole answer is. I think this is what started my book collection. I enjoy co-op radio (www.coopradio.org), but I must confess that it isn't the radio station I listen to via my alarm clock. I have a crappy radio alarm, and haven't found one at the thrift store yet that can get co-op like my stereo in the living room, (or via the Internet). So when I set up the alarm clock I choose the channel closest to co-op I could get, hoping to fine tune it later. Well, it turns out this channel (which I won't name, partly due to not wanting to advertise them) has an “Impossible Question” every morning. The object is, they ask a question, and callers try to phone in the correct answer to get a prize. The result for me is that I can not fall back to sleep because I need to know the answer. But awhile ago I noticed the question being asked were useles
