Hunter started a tad slow with a prologue from Sam’s childhood that I understand wanting to include after the fact. I wake up nearly every Sunday morning and prepare myself for church by shaving, showering, and picking out nice-enough clothing that I won’t offend anyone else who might be there judging me for what I wear. Then after nourishing myself with a breakfast bar that I eat while getting my son ready, we all rush out the door so that we can get to church in time so that we can get a good seat. We rush in just as the service starts, and we move into the “worship” time which is full of songs that make me feel good and get me excited about my relationship with God.
What’s wrong with this picture? Well, besides the fact that it is probably much more common than just being my own personal experience, it paints a wrong picture of what the corporate worship experience should be like. For the past few days, I've been thinking more about the grudge I was holding and what all it really cost me. I guess I probably freaked out my readers (the few I have! *wink*), typing a post like that one in the middle of all my homeschooling posts, but I had really reached the end of my rope in that area. We had revival at our church last week, and I had heard so many messages about "letting go" and "surrendering". I had also talked to one of my friends about the situation and they told me I was "letting it rob me of my blessings". I knew it was true, but I guess it took hearing it so many times.
It literally has been years since I felt this free. I don't know if that makes any sense at all, but I was burdened down with so many bad feelings, and since I turned it over to the Lord, I feel like a huge weight has lifted. I truly believe that's why this first week of school has gone so good for me. I don't have that damper that I was so used to.
I realize that it's going to take
Tonight's message at church really hit home with me. It was all about turning loose, and grabbing on to something worth holding on to. It was like it was preached directly to me. I have been struggling for a while with holding on to something in particular. And it has been draining my joy. I haven't been able to enjoy everyday life because I've been so concerned with focusing everything on this one thing. I'm so tired of it! I'm just not doing it any more. It's not worth what it's costing me. I want to just focus everything on the Lord and what He wants for me. I'm just not doing it anymore.
I'll just be honest, I've been holding a grudge against someone for something they did to me a long time ago. I've let the devil work in it and make it bigger and bigger. I've looked for fault and haven't wanted to try to fix it. I thought by giving it up, I would be losing, but I was blinded. A few weeks ago 60 minutes showed a story about a new womens movement based around the book “Surrendered Wife” by Laura Doyle.
Now I haven’t read the book, nor even really researched it other than to take a quick squiz around the website and what I saw on the story I viewed. I don’t have an issue with it. If that is the life that women choose, then good for them. If they are genuinely happy, then great. They are probably doing better than a lot of other people out there. The principles behind this choice of lifestyle aren’t what I’m writing about. It’s the response from ‘feminist’ movements and the people who claim that it’s this kind of movement that are putting us as a society back into the dark ages.
Now personally I would never choose this lifestyle, it’s just not for me. To totally surrender control would be like giving up breathing. BUT I do have the right to choose it. It’s now not foisted upon me by a

From Marvin Olasky, Editor In Chief of the Religious Right World Magazine:I suspect most of us realize that we can’t win a war on terror by voting in those so terrified that they wish to surrender.I am utterly sick of those on the right spewing this ignorant talking point. And it is even worse that those leaders of the Religious Right do not care about honesty and truth telling, but instead back on (untrue) talking points with little foundation in reality. But hey...I have talked about the lovely politics of the Religious Right before, right?
Of course, Olasky is not alone. Bush has essentially said the same thing.
Lets be honest here. The Republican Party's "War on Terror" has led to the war in Iraq, which has been a miserable mistake that has led to more terrorists, not less.
Just because the someone believes that the U.S. should leave Iraq does not mean that they are surrendering to terrorists...
Stocks: (AMD)(INTC)
Part of Intel's earnings reports was the news that its price war with AMD seemed to be over.
The problem with the statement is that Intel also said it was gaining back share from AMD, especially in the high end server markets where AMD had made considerable in-roads.
But, what if someone forgot to tell AMD.
AMD has gained share from Intel, especially in the server market In August, AMD even said that it would eventually have 40% of the market for server chips. It has just north of 20% now.
And, Intel's new Core 2 Duo has been well reviewed and may be beginning to beat back the advances made by AMD.
AMD may not have a lot of options to keep its market share growing. It is much smaller than Intel and if it does not protect its gains, Intel's new chipset may set AMD's growth back several years.
The market has become skeptical about whether AMD's gains are permanent. Its shares have dropped nearly 20% over the last six months while Intel's are up about 10%.
Worse rehearsal is a long time -- the worst: was not prepared for the scene, had not worked/thought it through. Other problems:
forgot to write down blocking for the last rehearsal so today I was suddenly lost,
didn't mentally-physically rehearse and pick out one or two things to address
overtired: not enough rest/sleep
Generally felt terrible, aware of how little I was getting or giving, and was not able to rally or focus, and rally to what, focus on what? Jill somewhat pointedly noted my fumbling during rehearsal . . .I was not prepared -- I'd better figure out what that means, how exactly to do that.
Next time:
Prepare: read/review the scene, blocking notes, any notes from self rehearsal. Critical to self rehearse, and then prepare to rehearse -- be ready to do that (don't just show up and then try to get orientated).
Pick specific things I want to work on.
Rehearse well -- give it my all (#1, #2, #4, & #5 here will be the foundation of this)
