It was our anniversary, but Bill and I didn’t see each other until 7:45 p.m. at Open House in Mrs. L’s Advanced Math class.  At that point I had already met with both third-grade teachers and Bill had gone to Social Studies, English and Science, so we were worn out after a day of work and school.  Our kisses were weary, though heartfelt. [Saturday, 24 March, 2007]At the very first minute of the day, I was preparing to go downstairs to meet Kachua for supper. He had just ended his work by then. He treated me to my roti prata and teh tarrik and we had quite a long chat over there. I knew well my plan to sleep early would certainly fail again. Before we left, I helped my brother to buy magi goreng, which cost $3.50, which was more expensive than mee goreng.I continued my morning with chatting with Mike while I carried on with my usual routine. My ten-buck-per-day project was going smooth. This day, I sought for more ways to expand it and Mike helped me with some advice. We also discussed about his soon-to-come company. I wasted a lot of time trying to set forwarding of emails using my domain name. I slept during daylight again.During the afternoon after I waked up, life was back to editing of websites. Phew, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? It’s the end of the quarter here, and I’ve been holding extra office hours and grading piles of linear algebra exams. But, last you heard from me, I was wining and dining my way around DC, courtesy of my mom and her fabulous taste in restaurants. After Palena and Komi, we visited Obelisk, and then two local Woodley Park eateries: the Afghan Grill and Lebanese Taverna. While Obelisk was good, it paled in comparison to Komi the night before. The style is similar to Komi, though it’s Italian inspired rather than Greek. The appetizers were again the highlight, with the best of those being a gorgeously oozy burrata swimming in a puddle of the most wonderful olive oil. The Afghan Grill was, as usual, outstanding, and a certain bewitching baklava eaten there has been following me around for nearly two weeks, begging me to attempt to recreate it (see below). My husband and I have this bad habit of taking supper because we always stay up. We used to take all the fried stuff, chicken wings, fish balls … Gosh all the fats! It's going to block all our vessels!! Ha!We have decided to change all this! Not to stop taking supper though! Ha! We have opted for healthier choice … salad.This is one of my salad selections. It includes, Alfalfa Spouts, Lettuces, Cherry Tomatoes, Ham, Smoked Salmon, Crab-stick and Apples with Thousand Island or French Dressings.However, we haven't kick the habit of drinking coke after that!!
