Un gran trabajo de un gran fan de Super Mario. Si es que con algo de tiempo libre y mucho talento siempre pueden salir cosas tan curiosas como esta escena protagonizada por el héroe de Nintendo en plastilina.
Excelente remake de Super Mario World realizado por Monolith, estudio de desarrollo de videojuegos recientemente adquirido por Nintendo, que reproduce los seis primeros niveles del juego original de la consola SNES de 1990.

Victory! Glorious, glorious triumph… After twelve long years, I have finally done it. I can finally die happy… I have saved The Princess… I have defeated Bowser… I have beaten Super Mario World. Is it just me, or does the Princess kind of look like she has a beard? Now, I know what you’re thinking… “Matt, that game is a million years old” and “Who the hell cares?” and “You’re a friggin’ moron”. I know I’ll get the same response I got when I finally saw the episode where Mulder and Scully kissed. No one cares because it happened so long ago, but hear me out… Super Mario World is an amazing game! It’s definitely in my top five favorite games of all time along with Ocarina of Time, Civilization II, and a few others. La Galería Miscelänea de Barcelona acoge una exposición de arte a cargo de GameBombing inspirada, parece ser, en Super Mario World. Como nota curiosa destacar que los autores, Ana Ibañez y Carlos Engel, no juegan a videojuegos, aunque no sé si es porque ya están quemados o porque sólo les gusta la estética de los mismos.
Echade un vistazo a su página web porque la fusión de la cultura del videojuego con la estética pop da resultados tan curiosos como éstos.

This is such a simple little idea, but oh so effective. I love watching World of Warcraft videos, they are always funny, enjoyable and ever so slightly (read hugely) geeky. I also love watching retro game clips, particularly the classic such as 2D Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog. Ok ok, I know I haven’t got a life, you don’t need to tell me, I already know. Anyway, this great YouTube effort combines both of these things with ease and in such a great way, I think it’s superb. To have the footage of WoW transformed into a couple of levels from Super Mario and have the still (even now) awesome theme tune playing in the background is tantamount to genius. Love it!
