Kurt Warner choked up when he talked about hugging his wife Brenda in the aftermath of his Arizona Cardinals' hard-to-believe NFC championship victory."She's been one of the few people who's been with me from the beginning," Warner said. "It was amazing. ... There's nobody I'd rather share it with."The brief show of emotion betrayed how much this victory meant to him after many had considered his

The NFL Super Bowl is the most important game in Pro football, and there is always a player that stands above the rest and receives the honors of Super Bowl MVP.NFL history tells us that the MVP has always played for the winning team, with a single exception: 1971, at Superbowl V, when Linebacker Chuck Howley received the MVP honors as a player of the Cowboys. If we talk about which position has b

Click here for last week's Power 10. 1 (2) Giants 3-0 The defending Super Bowl champions finally get some love in the Power 10. It’s been a long time coming, because God knows respect comes hard from this lifelong Patriots fan, but there are some undeniable facts here. First, they made the Washington Redskins look stupid. As we’ve since discovered, the Redskins are a pretty good football team.
Bobble Heads are nice…but owning New York Giant and Super Bowl Champion Jeff Feagles’ former Ridgewood Home is a real Super Bowl memento.
Just think, you could own the home where Tiki Barber was first introduced to his future wife and Eli and Peyton Manning once had a heated argument over who had the best pizza in
There’s no need to ask—we are more than ready for some football. As a matter of fact, I’ve had the Monday Night Football theme song stuck in my head for seventy-two straight hours. It’s impossible to accurately describe NFL’s opening day. No other professional sport compares. For an almost-thirty-something like myself, it’s like Christmas morning, Thanksgiving dinner, and my birthday a
Now that the Olympics are over and we have been in awe of some of the great architecture China slapped up for the games, I am feeling the need to talk about something a little closer to home. It is the modern monstrosity that is the New Dallas Cowboy Stadium. This thing is unbelievable. I am not sure it is the greatest modern design achievement but its big! Anyone that can make something that

It was incredibly hot that Sunday in Chicago at Soldiers' Field. My first outdoor concert experience and I was freaking that I was there to see: .38 Special, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ted Nugent headlining. What a show. For an 8th grade grad starting high school that September, I was on top of the world. I think it was more the event then even knowing who the bands were. You see,

Pepsi came up with two terrific Super Bowl ads that are both clever and funny, although recommending the product they are touting in the first ad would be a challenge. The ad is pushing Diet Pepsi Max, which includes ginseng extract and an increased amount of caffeine, all of which is designed to keep you awake.
Basically they are selling uppers, which is not illegal, but is it ethical for Pepsi

Because this journalist, with an equal love for New York City and a true passion for football, retells it better than I can ...One for the ages!Matthew Schneeberger, back in the U.S. after a year in India, relives the culture-spanning excitement of the Super BowlA consortium of shouts, whistles and cheers pours into my friend's apartment window on Manhattan's Upper Eastside: "Yea, baby!" "Go Giants!" "Boston sucks!"Peering out said window, I see drunken revellers swarm past in droves. They high-five one another, swill from open containers of booze and proudly point to their team's logo on blue hats, shirts and jackets, which everyone seems to be wearing. A man does an Irish jig on Lexington Avenue, while a companion plays accompanying bagpipes. Horns honk, girls scream and a few testosteron
Well, it was a great game. My team lost, but that’s okay because they played hard. Okay… the defense played hard. Neither team’s offense quite matched the other team’s defense. There were some spectacular plays, though, like the one where Eli Manning managed to uncoil himself from a certain drag-down sack and pitch the ball to David Tyree, who despite being completely covered, somehow caught it with his helmet and kept control of it while landing on his back. That was history-making kind of amazing.Michael gave us quite a few highlights here at home though too. Some great plays. Some big action. And certainly more offense than we saw on the field in Phoenix.Earlier in the day, I had tried to get Michael interested in throwing the football around at noon to help him burn off a littl

I don't watch football, but this year I decided I was going to meet up with my friend Jonathan at an Irish pub to watch the game.As I've mentioned before, most of our close friends are women, but sometimes I get curious what it would be like to have guy friends and to do what they do for fun. So, on a day like Sunday, I'll go find guys somewhere like an Irish pub where they're showing the Super Bowl, and I'll try to see if I find a part of myself there. My dad coached me along on the phone earlier in the day, so I would be ready to watch the game. He answered a few of my basic questions, like for starters, who was in the Super Bowl this year? I only saw one woman at the Irish pub the entire night. It was a genuine guys' night out. Guys watching guys play sports. Jonathan and I started off t
Fans from 30 different football cities and from all corners around the world sat in front of their television sets sunday to see what would later become the most watched Super Bowl in history (97.5 million viewers), and the great majority of them were not Giants or Patriots fans. So what did this great spectacle leave us now that it's gone? Is the majority happy with the underdog's win and the great New England fall? Or did the people want to see Brady and his crew lift the Lombardi trophy at the end of the day?The truth is it's very hard to say. The Patriots are not one of those good teams some love and most hate, they are a great team that has drawn the admiration of many football fans who love to watch the game the way it is meant to be played. So who do you root for? It has been
OK, first, I’m the idiot who booked a flight on the afternoon of Super Bowl Sunday. I still think the game is the last Sunday in January. But I got a cheap flight and a light traffic day and a nice weekend away. This also may be Karmatic retribution for the technological snobbery of my Top 10 Mantiques blog.Anyway, today DVR is an acronym meaning Didn’t Vreaking Record! There’s a fabulous feature on my co-branded Verizon-Motorola HD DVR (QIP6416-2) – “Delete Bumped or Reschedule”. It means the program you originally selected to record with one-click ease from the guide has changed. They throw up an exclamation point icon next to your selection in your Scheduled To Record tab (which I’m sure you refer to often). If you do nothing, so do they. They don’t record it! I can under
I racked my brain trying to come up with something to say about this game. Usually, I either try to see things from another angle or simply point out the obvious if it hasn't been done. Well, the obvious here is that Eli Manning has silenced his critics, and the Giants' defense flat out dominated. And due to the nature of the Super Bowl, just about every angle, wrong or right, has been
The Super Bowl is over. Football season has ended. That means one thing to me: It’s home buying season!Traditionally, home sales pick up in earnest following Super Bowl weekend. Buyers are no longer distracted by the holidays. The end of winter is in sight. Buyers with families who want to be in a new home shortly after the end of the school year need to get serious about their home search. In most years, this is the perfect storm that stirs up home sales. Here’s the question, though: With the slower residential real estate market, will the owners of Chicago condos and single-family homes see the traditional sales rush following the big game?I’m an optimist when it comes to the strength and resiliency of the Chicago real estate market, so my answer is an unqualified “yes.”If you’
To pay tribute to the New York Giants organization, I want to remind everyone of what the "experts" and "writers" and other football fans had to say regarding Super Bowl XLII."The New York Giants came away with their last win of the season in Green Bay more than a week ago. They won't get another one," wrote Jesse Kimbrel of the The Spartan Daily. He continued, "When their plane touched down in Arizona, the site of Super Bowl XLII, earlier this week, it may have been their last touchdown of the season as well." Thanks to Eli Manning, there were two other (more important) touchdowns worth celebrating!Someone from WHDH-TV and/or the Associated Press asked if "anyone honestly believe Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Randy Moss and the Patriots franchise will allow themselves to be associated with o
Well, according to the most recent Super Bowl Indicator, we are to have a high probability of markets finishing higher in 2008. With NY Giants upsetting NE Patriots during the last minutes of the thrilling 17-14 game on February 3, 2008, all Bulls around the world for surely felt somewhat relieved and supercharged, with revived hopes for another "up" year.

Sucked :(I'm still stunned and left with a headache and a heartache. It was certainly not the outcome that I expected, nor the outcome that I wanted. 18 and 1...nope, it doesn't sound nearly as good as 19 and 0. I think I'm going to crawl right into bed and sleep until September rolls around. Maybe then I can get over this unreal feeling of losing. Losing the super bowl. The only game we had left to win. Man, we were having such a good time. I went to a super bowl party at my friend's house - who by the way, might just be a bigger Patriots fan then me. She is also from Mass and the night couldn't have been better. We all were decked out with our Pats attire, she had her kids screaming Go Patriots, and there was plenty of food and beer. Nothing could have made it better - and when
The legendary, undefeated, about to make history New England Patriots. How can you go against them? Nobody has been able to beat them so far, not even their Super Bowl opponent, the New York Giants. We're good old fashioned New Englanders who love football.Think the Patriots win the Super Bowl to go 19-0and make New England once again holdthe World Series and Super Bowl titles simultaneously? And in such a short time period? We do.Go Patriots!UPDATE:Well, we thought they could, but never said they would. Boohoo, the Patriots lost to the Giants by three points. :-( Jim is so bummed. Well, upset and disgusted is more accurate.Never count anything as done or won before it comes. You know, all this season I listened to the talk about the Patriots and Tom Brady and shook my head, reluctant to go along. You can be lifted on a pedestal only so far before God knocks it down. Even though I would have loved to see the Pats go undefeated, I'm glad to see the loss. New England can get so full of its

I don't know about you guys but two weeks is much too long to wait for the big game...in my last column (see below), I said that Championship Sunday is usually more enjoyable than the Super Bowl because you often get two close games that are fun to watch...naturally, I went against that logic and went with the favorites and we all know how that turned out...so here we go, one game left to play..

Although I am not much of a football fan, I have to admit, there is something about the way a woman talks about the Super Bowl game that can get me a bit excited...or maybe it's just the woman that gets me excited...hmmm…either way, it's a big party day for most lesbians and having a little knowledge about the game is always a bonus. Knowing that I cannot be the only football challenged lesbian

Note: the French version of this recipe is here on La cuisine de Babeth.Hey, Sunday it's the big sport day, at least in the US! It's the Super Bowl! Well to be very honest with you, I was never a big fan of football while living in the US, but I must admit I always watched the Super Bowl. Not because of touchdowns or quarterbacks but for 2 reasons:1- it always a great excuse to come to a party or throw one, BBQ with beers and finger foods.2- for the never seen before tv ads.If you keen on have more info about the rules here's a great article. On internet there's a lot of Super Bowl recipes, starting with cookies or cakes, or finger foods. So, my Giants have made it to the big dance, and now my most urgent task at hand this very moment is figuring out where my friends and I are gonna watch the game. I must admit, I've fallen off a bit with football, but from way back I have always been a huge fan. I just have so much going on now that I don't have time to watch all the games anymore. I used to love the Philadelphia Eagles, the Pittsburgh Steelers, my poor NY Jets, and of course, my boys in blue, the Giants. I used to hate the 49ers and the Cowboys, because they were our main rivals. This was back in Joe Montana/Jerry Rice days. Lawrence Taylor, Deion Sanders, Randall Cunningham and Warren Moon. They were also my faves. I have screamed my throat out at many a playoff game, rooting for my guys to get in. Now, I get to do
Since its inception in 1967, the Super Bowl has become one of the most watched television broadcasts of the year - both in the US and worldwide. Ironically, this incredibly popular sporting event is associated more with huge portions and keg parties than with athleticism. In fact, according to the USDA, Super Bowl Sunday is the second highest day of food consumption (after Thanksgiving). Although it is most certainly an enduring and important part of the American lifestyle, it can be one of the biggest challenges to our New Year's resolutions. If you're hosting the party, consider using low-fat or reduced-fat ingredients, especially for cheeses, dips and sodas. Reduce salty foods - it's better for you and you'll eat and drink less. Offer some healthful selections, such as fruits and veget

Crunch time is upon us, and we are down to the final two in the National Football League. On Sunday February 3rd, the New England Patriots will try and complete what has been a dream season by going 19-0 with one more win.
In order to do that, they will need to get that one win [...]
There has been a lot of talk on television lately regarding Super Bowl XLII where the New York Giants and New England Patriots will duke it out over the Vince Lombardi Trophy.Wait! Let me correct myself: There has been a lot of talk about Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady and his "injured" foot. Many people are forgetting that there are two teams in the Super Bowl, not one person exaggerating some type of foot injury. There hasn't even been much talk lately about New England's undefeated season, which despite my New York bias, was incredible.People are failing to mention other great players involved in what is sure to be an epic battle. Lawrence Tynes of the Giants proved (finally) that he can kick field goals from long distances in extreme weather and uncomfortable pressure situations. Lauren
Super Bowl Crab Cakes

This blog post is simply stating that I am going on record as predicting the New England Patriots over the Green Bay Packers in a close game, highlighted by a classic shootout between Brett Favre and Tom Brady. This will provide Brett Favre and his young teammates the necessary motivation to return to the Super Bowl next year and come away victoriously allowing Brett to retire on top. This will cap off the Patriots record shattering perfect season in the grandest of fashions.I predicted the Patriots would win the Super Bowl this year the second I first caught wind of the Randy Moss draft day trade and never looked back. I didn't choose the Packers as my NFC representative until week 8 or 9 and even then had my doubts about if they could beat the Cowboys but that doubt was settled after
