I saw something on TV recently that caught my eye. It said that scientists have calculated that the U.S. on average receives 10^25 units of sunlight energy per year. We only consume 10^20 units per year of energy from various sources.This means that if we could perfect solar technology, we'd be set for years and years!Although I did wonder, are trees and plants taken into account? I have seen them before and usually they (normally three horses) come running up to the gate as soon as anyone approaches. Thankfully, that day they didn't and they stayed still for about 15 minutes, long enough to get all the information needed. When returning later that morning, the horses had moved to the far end of the field.

This morning I was up extra early due to the 8am graduation ceremony for the Citizens Leadership Academy. One of the great things about my Mid Mod, post and beam construction home is how the light changes with the seasons. This morning was the first day that the sun rose far enough to the south to make it thru the patio cover and brass sliding glass doors and into the living room. Last night, however, as I was leaving the house at 5:15, the kitchen was almost totally in the dark already. I want Daylight Savings Time to last all year! What a waste to have the sun up at 6 am, and for it to get dark so early. That’s really the only thing I hate about Las Vegas. Finally, it was warm enough to go outside!!!
