SummerSlam

Back in the day SummerSlam was sold as the hottest event of the Summer however in recent years I think it has lost it’s magic and it’s importance. To me SummerSlam is now just another monthly PPV which was proved by a gimmick match with no title at stake being booked as the main and two horrible title matches which haven’t been hyped. So with this in mind here are my thoughts on the show.Goo

As of last week, plans were in place for both Randy Orton and Batista to win their respective titles at SummerSlam. The final decision to let John Cena keep his belt was made on Friday. Michael Hayes is the person in charge of suggesting finishes for matches, but Vince didn't like any of the ideas he came up with. Vince thought that a win over Orton would have been the big perfect big win for Cena, so Cena got the nod in the match. Orton will get another title shot at Unforgiven, and there's a very good chance that he'll be getting the title this time around.

WWE Summerslam 2007 was yet another disappointing pay per view offering from one of the big two. The returns of Triple H and Rey Mysterio where well received and Stone Cold Steve Austins drinking contest with MVP was a welcome surprise but overall WWE Summerslam 2007 wasn't worth watching. Kane beat Finlay in a watchable opener but the bout had no reason to be on the card in truth.Umaga beat Kennedy and Carlito in an average triple threat match when Umaga pinned Kennedy. This was a great chance for a title change but WWE decided to keep the belt on Umaga. The stranger decision was having him pin Mr. Kennedy - not exactly a good sign for the proposed mega push.Rey Mysterio beat Chavo Guerrero in an entertaining bout. Rey showed little ring rust and put in a solid display, I just hope this is the end of this feud. The reaction to Mysterios return was pretty good.Beth Pheonix won the Diva Battle Royal in the usual waste of time - Note to WWE:STOP putting Divas in actual wrestling matches

Was it just me, or were the matches getting worse as the night went along? I thought that by far the best match of the night was Kane vs Finlay, which is odd. Why?Well for starters, Kane vs Finlay was the 1st match of the night. That's not usually where they put the best match. Also, it wasn't hyped as the other matches were. This match was announced just 2 days prior to the biggest party of the summer. I hope they continue this feud down the road.Also, what was with Mysterio's body paint? It scared me at first. Plus if almost all came off by the end of the match. Not one of Mysterio's best tonight, but nice to see him back.Continuing with Smackdown... what was with the Smackdown main event? I realize that at this point Khali is incapable of having an epic match, but what the hell? He wasn't even that bad in this match. But a DQ ending? The hell? I'm upset at this one. I really am.The Diva's Battle Royal wasn't bad, especially for a divas match. I picked Mickie

WWE Summerslam 2007 ResultsFinlay vs Kane (1) Kane enters the match with his ribs wrapped up. Jimmy Korderas is the referee. Finlay worked on Kane's left leg. Finlay pulled Hornswoggle from the under ring, but was chased out of the ring by Kane. Hornswoggle tried to hide under the ring, but Kane brought him back into the ring. Finlay broke up a chokeslam attempt. DDT by Finlay for a two count. Hornswoggle produced a shillelah from under the ring, and Finlay hit Kane with it on his injured ribs, but failed to score a three count. Kane won at 8:48 via the chokeslam. SummerSlam is almost here! Dun dun dun. Expect title changes... I say. This is going to be one of the biggest PPVs of the year. SummerSlam is one of the original 4 annual PPVs from the WWE/F. Expect this to be a good one. Lets hope that I didn't just gave it bad vibes, or something superstitious. Brutte notizie. Il match organizzato fra il cast di Jackass e Umaga per Summerslam di quest'anno è stato cancellato. Qualcosa durante la scorsa settimana ha cambiato le cose, e ora l'incontro previsto è fra Umaga e Jeff Hardy. Johnny Knoxville aveva anche progettato di fare alcune comparse in TV per promuovere l'evento, ma dopo la tragedia della famglia Benoit ha preso le distanze, come il resto del cast. Steve-O fa sapere nel suo space di aver finito le riprese per il commercial per Summerslam e... Ottima notizia... Che tutto il cast di Jackass parteciperà alla sfida!
