      Summer holiday
A short announcement to inform you all that from now until the 28th / 29th of July, HEGS won’t be updated. I’m going on a summer holiday to Cuba for nearly two weeks, and with internet access being slow (and heavily restriced) there, I shan’t even be attempting to update the site. Holidays, after all, [...]

      Summer holiday mode
Well ever since that 4 month holiday back in January, I feel like I haven’t really snapped out of it yet…even though it’s already half a year GONE. This year is going by so quick! I can’t believe how fast time is slipping by…. Work has been boring as usual - I’ve kinda been job hunting but I think I’ll save that for after exams. Had a movie night on Friday

Ken Friar books long summer holiday
Arsene Wenger recently said this to the Arsenal's Supporters' Trust: "I must say this year we had among the best attack but we have conceded 31 goals which is six or seven too many," he said. "It's as close as that to win the championship. "We didn't give more goals away than any other team in the League on open play, nor on set pieces, but where we gave more goals away was on direct balls, in

Get The Best Value Summer Holiday
But for those wishing to stay closer to home, Spain, France, Greece and Italy have always been popular. And another two countries in our top ten favourite destinations, namely Malta and Cyprus have just become the thirteenth and fourteenth members of the eurozone, which should of course make buying foreign currency a little less complicated. However, this may turn out to be a double edged sword, as while costs in Malta in particular are currently typically lower than in other eurozone countries, we may find that, like other countries joining before it, prices may be about to rise.

Uk House Price Increases Take A Summer Holiday
Property website Rightmove has released its latest house price index announcing a "Summer sale" for house buyers. The report shows that on average, house prices fell by 1% over the four weeks leading up to 9th July, indicating that the "affordability gap" between house prices and buyers ability to purchase, is at last starting to close. The price fall has been heralded as a great boost for house buyers and an indication that the fears of an expected imminent price crash may be premature. The statistics show that the asking price demanded by sellers over the report period fell by an average of £1,993 implying that; "Sellers are now realising they have to compromise some degree of their gains in order to sell their properties," said Miles Shipside, Commercial Director of Rightmove. The Rightmove conclusions correspond with other reports from Halifax and the Nationwide Building Society. Halifax reported that annual house price inflation had fallen behind average earnings growth for the

Teenage Angst and Anxiety - Summer Holiday Woes
My eldest, MissAngst, is being well even more angsty and Emo than usual.  We started her seeing a counselor a few months ago and while we were only going once or twice a month it seemed to be helping. With school (and the biggest pressures) out for the summer, her counselor had felt that we would go 2 months, until August, for her next session.  His primary advice was to forgo any kind of structured academics (or even art or poetry) this summer and just let her “be a kid” as it had been a rough year for her emotionally.  However, some issues have come up and I have to get her in, immediately if not sooner. (Don’t panic Lady Rose - all will be well) I hate to be vague.  But, she is entitled to some privacy. If you have a spare bubble of good energy, we could use it. BB  Mama Kelly

7 Reasons to have a Summer holiday in your own home
Is it possible or desirable to have a holiday while staying at home? I suppose that partly depends on where you live. This year we’ll be spending some of our holiday time at home. I decided to compile some of the advantages of taking a Summer holiday at home. 1  Save money, especially true in the high season 2  Not waste 2 days out of 8 travelling e.g. hanging round in airports or stuck in traffic jams on the motorway. 3  Enjoy home comforts instead of having of crammed together in a hotel bedroom or tiny apartment. 4  Reduce your carbon footprint by not flying or driving long distances. 5  Take time to appreciate what is in your own backyard. 6  You enjoy being at home, so why dash off when you have time off to relax. 7  Hopefully you will get some good weather, even in the UK, during a week in the Summer? What do you think?

      Our Australian Summer Holiday
Well the time has come and our wonderful trip home to Australia has come to an end. It was a fantastic holiday catching up with all our family and friends. Here are some of the Gluten Free highlights ~ * Thai Food: Since living in North America one of the things I has miss most about Australia is Thai Food. We really have some of the best Thai in the world. It was great to go back to Kirribilli and eat at our local Thai restaurant - Spice Market. When James’ & I lived in Kirribilli we would go there once or twice a week. It is hands down the best Thai food I have ever had (and after traveling throughout Thailand that’s saying something). They are always accommodating of my Gluten free needs and the Thai Green, Yellow and Red curries are simply delicious!!! * Sausages: It wouldn’t be a trip to OZ without a few ’snags on the BBQ’. These are my favourite brands: The Peppercorn Company Gourmet Sausages, Woolworth’s Beef Sausages and David Jones&r
