Gas prices forcing people out of suburbs

First, from a CNNMoney.com story:It may seem a bit drastic, but more and more people are taking what is perhaps the ultimate step in cutting gas pric

Great Commuter Suburbs near Columbus Ohio
Hello, it's Judy Gray. We've got some great commuter suburbs near Columbus Ohio and here's why they're great spots to consider when relocating to the area. Worthington, Dublin, and Powell are all easily accessible to all the good interstate highways and infrastructure in Columbus. They've got outstanding schools, they have great downtown communities with wonderful little boutique shops and restaurants, and all sorts of things to do for families, wonderful recreation centers where all your families can go and enjoy all kinds of different activities. My top-of-mind picks for 3 great places to live around Columbus are Worthington, Dublin and Powell. Posted By: Judy Gray

City Money Moving to the Suburbs
While property prices in many parts of the US and UK are experiencing some upheaval, two major cities have had relatively stable, if not rising, prices. New York City, and in particular Manhattan, and London, are still the leaders in their respective countries for housing prices. While the strong market in each of these cities has made it difficult to many to buy in, another phenomenon is the city dwellers cashing out and moving to less-expensive and larger homes outside the city.

Average Commute Times For Portland Suburbs
I help many people who relocate to Portland with their real estate needs. Many aren't very familiar with Portland and so they tend to have questions about commuting. The average Portland worker spends 23 minutes commuting to work, according to the U.S. Census. In this study, people who commute at least 90 minutes each way to work are classified as "extreme commuters." Suburbs for Amarillo?
AMARILLO (Amarillo Globe-News) – While construction spending through July was 27.5 percent lower than the same period last year, those numbers do not give a full picture of today's construction market here, according to representatives of two builders' groups. "This year, a lot of contractors are busy with projects outside the city limits, in the surrounding area," said Tonya Felder, executive director of the Panhandle of Texas Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America, listing ethanol plants, dairies, schools and government projects in surrounding Texas Panhandle towns. Lew Bradshaw, executive officer of the Texas Panhandle Builders Association, also sees a tight labor market for the area. "If there's skilled workers out there, there's a great opportunity for them," he said. Construction spending in July was $28.4 million, down from last July’s $32.5 million. For the year so far, spending is $196.3 million, down from last year’s $270.9 milli
