Superstar Barbra Streisand once abandoned her music career because she forgot the lines to her greatest hits live onstage. The diva quit the music scene in the late 1960s following the incident and only returned three years later following the introduction of modern technology. She says, "I was once doing a concert in Central Park when I forgot the words to one of my songs. "It frightened me so much that I didn't sing again in public for three years. "Then, as soon as they invented the teleprompter, I came back." During her career Streisand has recorderd more than 60 albums and is the best selling female artist of all time in America. She hs also won an Academy Award for best actres for her role in Funny Girl as well as for Best Soundtrack for A Star Is Born. But the diva shocked staff of a top London hotel this week when she made a list of demands which included that none of the staff were to look her in the eye.

Last week, Italian consumer groups Codacons and Adusbef spoke out against the outrageous ticket prices of Barbra Streisands scheduled concert at Romes Stadio Flaminio. They declared the prices "absurd and shameful," and called on the authorities to cancel the June 15 show at the 24,000-seat stadium. Looks like she made it easier on them and did so herself
Barbra Streisand has cancelled the first concert of her European tour in Rome following claims that ticket prices are excessively high.
Prices ranged from just under US$200 to more than US$1,200. The superstar has previously defended the high prices because part of the returns will go to her charity the Barbra Streisand Foundation.
Consumer groups have called on authorities to deny Streisand use of the stadium. But organisers of the concert insisted that production delays had forced them to cancel the June 15 concert in the capital’s Stadio Flaminio, which would have been the singer’s first-ever concert in Italy.
Instead of the Rome concert, the kickoff for the star’s tour will now take place on June 18 in Zurich, Switzerland.
After the Zurich event, Streisand’s European tour has concerts scheduled in Austria, France, Ireland and Britain.

Just when I thought that La Streisand was already retiring, here comes another scheduled tour…in Europe! I’m sure she’s mentioned somewhere that she’s performing for the last time, that was a couple of years ago, my memory doesn’t serve me well right now. Nonetheless, it seems that she’s never gonna retire after all.
But she and her producers think that the Streisand brand might be comparable to wine. (You know…The “Value goes with age” concept) Thus the ridiculously high price of concert tickets. But the people think otherwise.
From Associated Press:
“Italian consumer groups want authorities to cancel Barbra Streisand’s concert in Rome next month because of excessive ticket prices.
The Adusbef and Codacons groups urged the city of Rome and the Italian Olympic Committee to deny permission for Streisand to perform at the Stadio Flaminio on June 15. It is the 65-year-old singer’s first-ever concert in Italy and the start of her European tour.

"Some Men" at the Second Stage, March 4, 2007
Terrance McNally's newest play about gay men and where their lives lead them has premiered at the Second Stage Theatre Company.
A series of vignettes and scenes relating to nine men attending the wedding of two of their friends covers a veritable history of gay men from the 1920s to the present. Like his "Love, Valour, Compassion" Mr. McNally has
Number 836Barbra Streisand"Way We Were"(1974)..Genre:VocalBarbra is damn sexy!Whoa there Crowbarred you say, have you completely lost your marbles? Not even Mr & Mrs Stranger, im very sane. (Kaff)Now, Miss Streisand had a strange sex appeal, yes. She wasn't, say, Barbra Bach, no.But Barbra had her own very unique appeal, maybe it was her eyes, maybe even her nose, maybe even just the way she sang. Hell .... it was all 3."Barbra Streisand's status as one of the most successful singers of her generation is all the more remarkable not only because her popularity has been achieved in the face of a dominant musical trend -- rock & roll -- which she did not follow; but also because, despite an amazing singing voice that has enthralled practically anyone who has heard it, she has always used singing as a mere stepping stone to other careers, as a stage and film actress and as a film director. ""In the 1970s, Streisand successfully married her musical and film acting interests, first in T
