You know what I'm in right now?A big old heap of denial. We are moving a week from tomorrow and I haven't packed a box in days. Oh, sure, right after BlogHer I went nuts for a few days and collected boxes, filled and labeled them. It felt great! I was ahead of the game!Since then...nada. Been taking the kids to pools (because, you know, I need to get geared up to living in a home with OUR OWN POOL)
Senator Obama made a not-so-surprise decision yesterday and opted out of public financing yesterday. The first candidate to not take tax-payer dollars to fund his General Election campaign in history, Obama's choice stemmed from the simple fact that he is raising more money a month than the public system would have given him to play with from the end of August till November.

I look forward to the day that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a stinking corpse.
"Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken," the official IRNA news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as having said.
This man has stirred enough hatred in the region. It's time for him to experience life as a martyr.

This guy really does want war. It’s sickening to think that those on the left don’t take this guy seriously…

I was a typical headstrong, independent, strongly opinionated teenager who never hesitated to say “NO” for food cooked using particular vegetable or greens. With 90%+ vegetables and greens which belonged to my black list, it was not an easy task for my Amma to cook something which every family member loved. For me Green Leafy Vegetables were simply horrible to look at let alone taste it. Root
The Planet of the Apes, man did that film ever rule!As a kid, I must have been around 8 or 9 when I first saw it, my imagination run wild watching this film, maybe it was the costumes or the fact that monkeys were talking, whatever the reason I couldn't get that film out of my head. The Planet of Apes has stayed with me all through my life, through the difficult geeky teenage years, into University - where a score of my friends would drop 'Get your stinking paws off me' at the drop of a whim and always to universal laughter - and even today I can be found watching it in pure admiration.Heston was obviously a great allure to the whole mythology, he carried the plight of the human race in those withering sad eyes. No wonder Zira and Cornelius wanted to help him, one look from those puppy d
Stinking toilets and litter at terminals posed a health hazard at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport here Thursday but flight services remained normal on the second day of an indefinite nationwide strike by airport employees.
So far the Vancouver real estate market has escaped any of the contagion spreading across the border. How long will that last? Even in the US itself, housing prices in some local markets (such as Seattle and Portland) continue to rise. Together, easily accessible credit and massive wasteful public investments (the Convention Centre, the RAV Line, various Olympic investments, Gateway Project, the Sea-to-Sky Highway) have kept Vancouver's economy flush for the past five years.
Thanks to reports published in MalaysiaKini and HarakahDaily yesterday, I finally understand what had really happened in UPM recently. It has something to do with their impending campus election. Hmm…I’m not going to write long comments on this particular subject for I can see that bloggers such as Sagaladoola has all ready done a good job on it.However, I do like to pose a few questions to UPM.What is wrong with students that support Barisan Mahasiswa Bersatu or participate in ‘Persatuan Bahasa Tionghua’ anyway?Aren’t they free to choose what they believe is best for them?If our students cannot choose what is best for them, why even bother to have a campus election over in UPM in the first place? Stupid, isn’t it?To the best of my knowledge, we do not have any Father or Imam of Fascism here in Malaysia (I know that some of you would argue with this. :-)). So please do not suppress our students from exercising their rights.Courtesy of HarakahDailyYou know, folks. If fascism
At the court of the mosque where he went for Friday prayer, former Turkish PM Necmettin Erbakan offered his support and prayers to the new Turkish President Abdullah Gul, who was his protégé, MP, a minister and deputy in his government. He said, “May Allah protect him from sins and evil and may he act according to the wishes of the people and not of the evil. This is how I pray for him.”On AKP’s success in the recent general elections Erbakan said, “Our people have protected our values for centuries. Why should we [Muslims] that have built countless civilizations, leave our essence and identity in order to imitate the stinking, fossilized, rotten West? Our people are rejecting this and are step by step returning to their real selves.
Yesterday Malaysia Today posted a very interesting story on UMNO, the largest political party in Malaysia. To be honest, I really don’t give a damn about UMNO. They are no longer relevant to the Malaysian Malays (Melayu) in my book. I never did bother to read anything about them under normal circumstances. However, Malaysia Today’s story yesterday was too juicy for me to ignore.I would like to quote some of Malaysia Today’s story here today. In one section we have, quote:“MB Selangor Khir Toyo dalam Utusan Malaysia hari ini menyatakan bahawa Umno sebenarnya tidak ditubuhkan di Johor sebagaimana yang difahami ramai tetap di Kelab Sultan Sulaiman, Kg Bharu yang ketika itu berada di bawah Selangor.”Basically what it meant is that UMNO was not established in Johor as commonly believed. UMNO was actually established at the Sultan Sulaiman Club in Kg Bharu which at that time was still under the jurisdiction of the State of Selangor. How much this is true remains to be seen. I can se
As Congress has tried and failed to pass immigration reform, both Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Bush Administration plan to continue their strong-arm tactics against undocumented immigrants. Soon after the Senate’s failed second attempt to pass Bush’s immigration bill, ICE agents have carried out well-organized publicized raids in factories, meatpacking plants, janitorial services companies, and other workplaces around the country employing immigrants. Recently, the Bush administration announced plans to step up immigration enforcement by raising fines on businesses who hire undocumented workers, overhauling temporary worker programs and speeding up deployment of border agents, according to a summary of the plans. Earlier this year, Bush claimed that his administration had stepped up efforts to improve border security by authorizing DynCorp to hire as many as 120 “current and former U.S. Border Patrol agents.” This was done because the Bush a
We don't need no stinkin' badgesMy hands are shaking as I type this!A man just rang the doorbell. When I went to the front door (not the gate), he shouted "Who owns this property?" I said "Who are you?" because, after all, this is Honduras, where most people in a colonia like ours won't even answer their door, much less give personal information, for fear of kidnappers or robbers or murderers. There have been several recent cases of "false" police, dressed in police uniforms committing robberies and murders, as well as real police committing kidnappings. He said he was from the municipalidad (municipality). Since they have come around in other years, I figured they were looking for people who haven't paid their taxes, so I told him the name, let's just use Fernández for example. He again said, "What is the last name?" Again, I said Fernández. He apparently couldn't find it on his papers, and called another guy over, who also demanded, "What is the name of the owner?!" I said, "F
I wish I couldn’t see Everyone else looking so happy Whenever I have no stinking money Are those grins because everyone’s got money a plenty? Or is it because it’s just so stinking sunny? Up and down the money tree My life always goes you see It’s really not because of me I ride the winds of life’s opportunities. Sometimes up and sometimes down I never seem to get around Fate playing me like a silly clown Throwing me down Back again to the ground Nothing to do but howl like a hound. Seems once I think the downs are nevermore Another blow of fate takes over Seems like there’s no cover From fate bringing more ridiculous trouble. Up and down chained to money Money becomes a strange honey Makes life seem horrible then funny Up and down it goes like a spastic bunny. But my life's always had ups and downs And my ups have taken me all around Allowed me to hear life’s beautiful sound Given me a strong resound Even makes the downs
Paiz grocery, photo courtesy of WalmartIt was good while it lasted, but it didn't last long. I practically raved about the new (WalMart-owned) Paiz grocery store back in December .... but now Paiz stinks. Literally, it stinks. In some parts of the store, I had to walk around with my hand over my nose and mouth, the smell was that bad.I wanted to talk to the manager to tell him that the last time I was there, I spent L.4,000 and this time I spent less than L.1,000 because I couldn't bear to spend that much time in the stinkin' store. I didn't, though, because I know they won't care and will just consider me another "demanding gringa." Besides, the manager has a nose, too.I ended up regretting that I even bought as much as I did, because the bad odor had permeated the vegetables as well. I made a pasta salad and most of the veggies, even though they looked very fresh, had picked up an "off" flavor from the smell of the store. This is unbelievable, but even the Kleenex has the odor. I
It looks like the travesty of amnesty to the millions of illegal immigrants that have been flooding our country is going to come throug. Now that President Bush has the Democrats in Congress, the amnesty of the millions of crimonals...
After three album releases and 10 years of touring around the country blitzing audiences with their famously dynamic live shows, Philadelphia instrumental power trio Stinking Lizaveta (named after a Dostoevsky character) has become an institution of sorts in the US underground music scene.
