I've been doing wonderful since I started Weight Watcher's on Monday! Today is my 8 year Wedding Anniversary! We celebrated last night (wednesday) and I chose Applebee's because they have the Weight Watcher's menu there. I had the Steak Portabello with broccoli and potatoes, a side salad and then the Weight Watcher's raspberry cake. It was good and I was satisfied!

Norfolk, VA. (ThaLunatic Daily) -- Heaven Smith, a 21 year old Norfolk, Va. woman has been arrested and charged with murder in an apparent plot to starve her children to death. One child, Miracle Bryant, is now dead. The other child, Heaven Bryant has been hospitalized in critical condition. I always wondered why there was this term, "starving artist." I mean I get the reality that art of all kinds is only a big money maker for a small number of people, but I think there is room for a good number of people to make a living wage.Anyway, I was having a conversation about it (actually two with two different people- funny how synchronicity works) and came to the conclusion that being 'comfortable" makes you lazy and uninspired. If you are "well enough", why rock the boat and get out of comfort zone to do something spectacular?I guess it takes poverty, desperation, heartache or some other catastrophe to inspire. Not a very brilliant discovery, I know, but one I just thought about.

I'm taking a break while the cornbread for the dressing is baking in the oven. Hi Firstly please accept my apologies for not getting back to you all sooner, it has taken me a lot longer than I thought to read everything. I received a lot of excellent short stories and poems and I'm no expert but there wasn't a bad one amongst them. I am like those emaciated children from third world countries you see on TV commercials. Not in a literal sense, but when it comes to my personal needs that's how I feel. I'm being starved for affection. When you get so used to feeling someone's warm embrace day after day and suddenly its cut off, it's almost like you are being drained of your very essence. At least, that's how it feels to me. All I really want is for someone to be there to hold me sometimes. I want, I crave that sort of attention in my life. I probably shouldn't give in to the craving. Driving home from work tonight I stopped at a stop sign. The stop sign was located just before an overpass and in front of a y in the road. At the stop sign you can see clear down to the state highway below. Tonight as I stopped at that stop sign something captured my attention. It was a big mac truck all lit up from the front to the back. It looked so big and beautiful and strong in all of it's speeding glory. Paying such close attention to the truck I didn't notice a car coming around the bend at very high speed toward me and I started to pull out into the lane, catching myself just in the nick of time. This made me think about how easily we can be distracted and busy our minds thinking about things that we have no business thinking about.
