Stanley Cup maybe dented at Cheli's Chili Bar?
Who cares? It gets smacked around every year, especially when boozing and partying is involved. From the Detroit Free Press: The rumor was Brett Lebda accidently dropped it. "I don't know what you're talking about," Lebda said. "I didn't drop it. That's a bad rumor going around."Asked about the rumor, Chris Chelios said: "I'm not saying nothing. I looked at the Cup today -- there's no dings in it.

Penguins back in Stanley Cup Finals
Well, the Penguins are alive. After going the first two games without scoring a goal, the Pens won last night in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. It was beginning to look like a one-sided sweep. Not now, though.Perhaps this will be a long series.

      STANLEY CUP A PENGUINS FAN
The Trib did their homework in unearthing an actual Saltsburg man whose name is Stanley Joseph Cup. And to top it off, he's a Pens fan with a tattoo of his namesake on his back.Stanley Cup, a steel worker who puts in daily 10-hour shifts at the Akers National Roll mill in Avonmore, doesn't think of himself as a talisman. Very Cool Stanley Cup commercial: Cup Raise
The NHL is trying to be like the NBA with cool commercials promoting their product.  It has worked for the NBA, they’ve had their highest ratings these playoffs than they have in years so why not. The NHL did a pretty good job though, I like this commercial. addthis_url = 'http%3A%2F%2Fsportfiends.com%2F2008%2F05%2F22%2Fvery-cool-stanley-cup-commercial-cup-raise%2F'; [...]

Pens Beat Flyers, Advance to Stanley Cup Finals
For the first time in 16 years, the Pittsburgh Penguins have reached the Stanley Cup Final. For Ryan Malone, it’s been a long time coming. The Pittsburgh native scored twice, Marian Hossa had a goal and three assists and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 21 shots he faced as the Pens advanced to the final round for the [...]

Young Penguins in Stanley Cup finals (AP)
Everybody in the NHL knew these Pittsburgh Penguins would be very good, and soon. How could a team with players as young and talented as Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Marc-Andre Fleury and Jordan Staal not be? This good, this soon? This dominating, and this determined to succeed? Hardly. The Penguins didn’t listen to all that [...]

Wings headed back to Stanley Cup finals (AP)
Dominant in the regular season, superb again in the postseason, the Detroit Red Wings are headed back to the Stanley Cup finals. With gusto, too. Just when the Red Wings lost consecutive games and were starting to look vulnerable, they bounced back strong in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals, getting first-period goals from [...]

NHL 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs Outlook
The 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs will be completely underway tonight when the Flyers face Washington. For the rest of the teams, it was a hell of a Game 1. For the Sharks, it was a hell of a Game 2!As usual and always, I'm routing for the New York Rangers, but let's take an unbiased look at Round 1 so far: WESTERN CONFERENCE Detroit VS Nashville: Detroit is ahead of Nashville and it looks like they will take this series. Granted Nashville might get a win, Detroit is going to take it - especially with Dominik Hasek blocking the goal. There's a very good chance that the Red Wings will make it all the way to the Finals.San Jose VS Calgary: San Jose put up one hell of a fight this season; that fight carried into the playoffs! Despite losing Game 1, Evgeni Nabokov didn't allow a single goal as Sa

Kate Smith Sings God Bless America before 1974 Stanley Cup
How can I have a Flyers website and not include Kate Smith. The Flyers had 69 wins, 19 losses, and 3 ties when Kate Smith preformed at the spectrum. Man, I get chills every time I watch that. http://katesmith.org/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Smith

      Canucks win Stanley Cup!
Well, on NHL 07 anyway. Temujin and I spent countless hours playing Dynasty Mode as the Canucks (we played on the same team) and finished off the the Flames in 7 in the semi finals and the Devils in 6 in the Finals. Ironically, it was Canuck Brian Gionta, who we had acquired earlier in the season, who stole the show in the playoffs, scoring about 14 goals and winning the Conn Smythe trophy. Tears filled our eyes as the Commish handed Markus Naslund the Cup at center ice, and as Trevor Linden hoisted the prize, only to retire after the celebrations. We had to build the team on speed to even succeed. Players like Ohlund and especially Salo were still much too slow and are going to be traded.Line 1Naslund - Morrison - GiontaLine 2Smolinski - Schaefer - Rob NiedermayerLine 3Dank Sedin - Hank Sedin - PomminvilleLine 4Bulis - Cooke - Linden/KeslerDefensive Pairings:Salo - OhlundBeauchemin - MitchellFitzpatrick - BieksaGoaltendingLuongo - Markanen.Go figure, Niedermayer and especially Beauche

Anaheim Ducks Why I like 'em *PPG (Penner, Perry, & Getzlaf) line. They have been practically unstoppable. They are so big and so powerful. Getzlaf has 13 points (five goals and eight assists), Penner has five points (two goals and three assists), and Perry has nine points (four goals and five assists.) The thing that I like about this line is that Getzlaf has 24 penalty minutes and Perry

      NHL 2007 Stanley Cup Finals
OTTAWA SENATORS-VS-ANAHEIM DUCKSLet me start by saying that although the New York Rangers, my team, aren't in the Finals, I'm still happy with the two teams that did reach this milestone. Being a NYR fan, it's my duty to cheer for the Senators. But like I said, I'm happy with either team.Predicting a winner between these two is comparable to deciding a coin toss. It could go either way. Both teams are very capable of winning. However, I think the Ducks will walk away with the cup.

      Stanley Cup Excitement!
Can the New York Rangers slow down the Buffalo Sabres’ speedy offense? They’re going to have to find a way if they want to stand a chance in this series. We are going to see some great hockey in this Eastern Conference second round match up. Given their plethora of talent and relentless pursuit of offense, the Sabres are always a treat to watch. The Rangers have once again become the darlings of Manhattan, advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in a decade. They did so in shocking fashion, disposing of Southeast champion Atlanta in four games, while the Sabres wobbled only slightly in dispatching the eighth-seeded New York Islanders. Both teams boast terrific coaching and unheralded depth (although the Sabres’ lineup has a higher profile after two strong seasons). Example? Fourteen Rangers had at least a point in four games against Atlanta and 16 Sabres found the score sheet against the Islanders. Each team boasts one of the game’s brightest young goa
