One of the best things living in Hawaii is the culture. People naturally bind together by giving out something for the needy community who need a helping a hand. Today is a special day because the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food drive- a national project sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers is here again. In connection with the Food Drive, we are doing our part as members of the community by helping those who are in need in our own little way, donating some of our non-perishable foods. These foods get delivered to the Hawaii Foodbank and into the needy community cupboards that needed them the most and put to good use. We are fortunate through our donations and other people’s donations will mean someone; they won’t have to go to bed hungry.
Don’t forget to leave your bag of food out tomorrow for the mailman (or mailwoman)!

I love that idea but I think a better idea to search for your stamps would be to have a "stamp directory". Federal officials, alarmed that a Texas computer system has been tardy in processing more than half the food stamp applications it was assigned in December, have asked the state to postpone rollout of the system to more of the state.
“We are not convinced that a continued rollout of [the system] is warranted,” William Ludwig, Dallas regional administrator of the U.S. Food and Nutrition Service, wrote the state last week.

I've used this technique to create part of my title in my layout titled "Catcha Catcha".First I've used Microsoft Words to create my title and print it out on scraps. Then I've cut out the letters, leaving the negatives of it as a stencil. Then I've used some distress ink to lightly stencil the title onto the card stock. Later, I've used some words and quotes stamps to stamp on the card stock with the stencil over it.

The U.S. Postal Service next year will issue a commemorative stamp in honor of slain Los Angeles Times reporter and columnist Reuben Salazar, the Times reported. “He was a groundbreaker for Latinos in this country, but his work spoke to all Americans,” Postmaster Gen. John E. Potter told the Times in a story by staff writer Louis Sahagun. “By giving voice to those who didn’t have one, Ruben Salazar worked to improve life for everybody. His reporting of the Latino experience in this country set a standard that’s rarely met even today.” Salazar was killed in 1970 at age 42 while covering a riot in East Los Angeles. He was hit in the head by a tear gas projectile fired by a sheriff’s deputy.

Lately, I've tried to use some flourishes lace in my latest layout titled "hmm..." in my baby gallery. After placing the lace on the layout, I just thought that it's too flat and needed some colours and dimensions to it.Therefore, I've used some butterflies and beetle stamps to stamp on it and used some coloured brads to enhanced the flourishes on the lace. (Tip: remember to give the stampings on the lace sometime to dry) I've also inked the lace to distress it a bit in order to match the layout.With these enhancement, the lace actually looked more dimensional and interesting! So, try to stamp and enhanced your laces in your next layout!

The Delhi Government, on Friday announced a cut in stamp duty on property prices by 2%. The move has been decided to access funds under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) as the programs need states not to exceed the stamp duty than 5%.
The stamp duty on properties registered in the name of men will now stand at 6% whereas it would be 4% for women.
This will pave the way for considerable savings for an individual buying property. With respect to new stamp duty, he/she will now be able to saves at least Rs 60,000 for a property worth Rs 30 lakh. Likewise, the savings will go on increasing with the increase in property price. It would be to the tune of Rs 1 lakh for one that is worth Rs 50 lakh and Rs 2 lakh for a property worth Rs 1 crore.
The first installment including Rs 298 crore from the JNNURM funds has been allocated to Delhi by the Union Urban Development Ministry.

This is a technique that I've used in my latest layout titled "Future" in my family gallery. I've had this pattern paper with some designs of wood grain on it but the colours on it looked too flat. I wanted to do something to it so that it will looked more interesting and with an obvious texture on it. I've used my distress ink stamp pad and inked it randomly onto the pattern paper. I've inked it a few layers so that I'm able to create different tones of it. This is a very simple way of adding some textures looked onto your pattern papers.

The hype is now over in the US for the long awaited iPhone which hit the stores on Friday. After an excruciating 4 days of waiting outside the stores, the US gadget geeks finally got their mitts on the new Apple iPhone, so was it worth the wait?

Here we go:Police in Decatur, Georgia are interested in questioning Adam "Pacman" Jones in regards to a shooting outside a DeKalb County strip club.Witnesses told police that Jones became angry when a group of men approached a woman with him and asked her for a dance.Jones became upset and threatened the men.According to WSB-TV,That group told police they left the club and were driving away, but were followed by several armed men. Police said it appears both groups opened fire, leaving one SUV riddled with bullet holes.Officer Ariel Toledo was quoted as saying, "We believe he knows some of his entourage who were involved in the shooting."Jones is also awaiting news on a case in Las Vegas regarding a fight and shooting at a strip club during the NBA All-Star weekend.

Facing a strong protest from the mill land developers, the Maharashtra Government is bringing down the value of textile mill lands in its Stamp Duty Ready Reckoner by 10-20% in a couple of weeks.
The proposed move will decrease the incidence of stamp duty for those who are considering purchasing residential property or commercial property on the mill lands undergoing construction. There is an increase in the values of mill lands, which were sold off to real estate developers by inviting open tenders, by 5 to 500% in its Ready Reckoner thereby adding to the burden of stamp duty.
Currently, the stamp duty is 5%. However, the ambit does not include any residential projects, where it is Rs 7,600 up to Rs 5 lakh and 5% above Rs 5 lakh. The land value for the evaluation of stamp duty is seen on the basis of land rate and cost of development plus 25% profit in residential projects or 50-100% in case of commercial projects.
