With the start of the new season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, the crazies are coming out of the woodwork again. Just read through my recent comments to see what I mean. People are downright obsessed with these decadent ladies, to the point where they are willing to debate whether they live in “big houses” or “mansions.” I mean, really.

Having stalkers is nothing new to me. Logistical regression was used to study patterns in fear reported by female stalking victims with 25% of the sample respondents reporting feeling no fear of their stalker. Factors such as race ( Black women were significantly less likely to report fear compared to White respondents), frequency of being stalked, stalking by an intimate acquaintance or family member, or being stalked by physical or communicative means, affected likelihood of experiencing fear. The authors concluded that use of a fear standard to judge seriousness of stalking attempts and the need for official protection represents a significant distortion of actual incidence of stalking as well as a gross miscarriage of justice.

I was in the middle of a Hip Hop class full of teens today when one of the girls motioned toward the window. Standing outside with her nose and lips pressed against the window was Yasmine. I kid you not. It was the freakiest thing I've ever seen. When she saw me look over at her she waved frantically and kissed at the window. The teens were laughing but I was getting scared. Ever seen 'Fatal Attraction'? (I don't have a bunny but I do plan to get a dog at some point!) I excused myself and went outside to have the 'talk' with her. She nodded and said she understood BUT...... she is clearly unstable. I am going to be very very careful from here on out.

So I talked to my stalker today, but it turns out that he only wanted to ask for directions to my house. I was a little disappointed, but I like to keep tabs on him anways. So far, here’s what I know:

- His favorite thing from Taco Bell is the grilled stuffed chicken burrito

When I play FEAR I am always struck by the quality of the AI: when you burst out on a group of enemy soldiers they swear, duck, and run for cover. They’ll break windows and jump through the other side for cover. After you attack them they (audibly) find out how many people are left and assess the situation. You don’t need to suspend any disbelief to think that you are attacking a highly trained group of soldiers.
When I play STALKER I am always struck by the quality of the game environment. If you choose to wipe out a group of mercenaries that are holding off a vicious group of pseudodogs then the next time that you return to the area the dogs will be in force. If you do choose to do missions for one faction then their members will like you more, and be more likely to fight for you in future. The game environment is an autonomous immersable machine.
