A paparazzi who follows the toxic singer Britney Spears filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles California on Wednesday against photo agency X17. The celebrity snapper alleged three of the company’s photographers severely beat him following a chase in which he had gained the lead. Alison Silva told MTV News that on March [...]
Today we'll talk about the capital someone needs in gambling and how much money should risk in a single bet. The following questions are 3 of the most common ones, although it is relatively easy to be answered.
There exists many different kind of staking methods with rather elaborate names so to speak. Basically, they all follow a staking method which can be divided into 4 catagories.1) fixed staking2) variable staking3) percentage staking4) progressive stakingFor fixed, or level, staking, every bet placed is assigned the same stake size, regardless of the betting odds. Level staking forms the benchmark staking strategy against which all others should be compared for profitability and risk evaluation. Many punters see weaknesses with level staking and prefer to vary the size of their bets according to various criteria, including their strength and their odds. A bettor, for example, may choose to standardise the amount he wins for every successful bet. Where all the odds are the same, this will amount to level staking. Where the odds differ, the stake sizes will vary. This strategy might suitably be called the fixed profits staking plan.Percentage (bank) staking, like level staking, standardis
I want to expand on something I posted in my chart patterns entry where I mentioned that I got too heavily involved on Roddick at short odds. Firstly let me say that I don't have a problem getting on something that's short odds, if it represents a good bet / position, then I'm going to take it regardless (though I do drawn the line at backing at 03 or less usually - it's needless effort for little reward). What I did in the Roddick match however, has made a dangerous mental trap much clearer to me, and this weeks trading has been much more fruitful because of this.
I had the realisation that had I not overstaked on Roddick at those odds I would not have felt the urge to mess around with the position later on - cutting my loss, then beginning to trading at a higher frequency without much thought to make back the loss.
This might seem pretty obvious, but the actual nature of the problem has really hit home for me this week. Over-stake past your threshold and you o
I thought I'd write a little bit about why I decided on my staking system compared to level stakes. All staking plans are mathematically based and it’s a question of finding which suits your needs best. I have three distinct brackets with varying percentages. 3%, 1.8% and 1.2%. To translate a percentage into a point its best to use a theoretical bank of 50 points which totals 100%. With level stakes you'd be using 2% per selection. Let's take a horse at 4/1, it loses you gain a point. With my staking system you'd only gain 1.8% which is obviously slightly less but the advantages comes if the horse wins, using level stakes it would cost you 4 points or 8%. With the percentage system you'd only lose 7.2%. The biggest gains come with horses priced 3/1 (4.0) or less. I aim to win 3% per selection or 1.5 points. Over a series of 100 selections using an 83% strike rate you would gain an extra 41.5 points or 83%. With the 17 winners at an average of 2.1/1 you'd lose 53.55 points using
So that's where they went after Sunnyvale was destroyed.OK, this is very strange.Serbian vampire hunters have acted to prevent the very remote possibility that former dictator Slobodan Milosevic might stage a come-back - by driving a three-foot stake through his heart.According to Ananova, the politically-motivated Van Helsings, led by Miroslav Milosevic (no relation), gave themselves up to cops after attacking the deceased despot in his grave in the eastern town of Pozarevac. Milosevic popped his clogs back in 2006, while on trial in a UN war crimes tribunal for various unsavoury activities connected with the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia.Miroslav Milosevic said "he and his fellow vampire hunters acted to stop the former dictator returning from the dead to haunt the country". His team explained that the wooden stake had been "driven into the ground and through the late president's heart".In your face, Jesus Camp! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go find out where Reagan
Another quiet day today with just Bangor going ahead but a profitable one nontheless. 3 lays and 3 losers, just the way I like it! I Should be a lot busier tomorrow though with 2 flat meetings and hopefully 1 jump meeting, I'd expect between 15-20 lays tomorrow. As it was a quiet day, I spent a lot time just spuddling around the net and reading a few new blogs and came across Gavin's. He's got a very interesting staking plan, at first I simply dismissed it as being too conservative but my brain went into overdrive when I read a very interesting thread on the expert betting forum here. A very successful story and I've seen Maria around on the Adrian Massey forum. Her staking system worked on the following:( Using BF prices) under 3.5 1% of working bank, 3.6-7.5 0.6% of working bank and 7.6-11 0.4% of working bank. I started playing around with a few figures in a quick excel spreadsheet and changed the figures from 1%, 0.6% and 0.4% to 3%, 1.8% and 1.2%. Using my past results I can ma
