Aside from the stairs made into a bookshelf at a Victorian row house in London and the tip on maximizing your stairs, here is another interior idea where you could turn your stairs into a bookshelf. The idea is from Adam Jirkal, Jerry Koza and Tomáš Kalhous, three Czech Republic designers that have transformed the stair case to a book case. An innovation like this would be a great space saver. The stairs was based on the alternating thread stairs, or sometimes called staggered stairs or monk's stairs which have been used for ages. We all know that the stairs it one of the parts of the house that occupies a lot of space but this monk's stairs is best if you want to save a lot of space.

It is not a snail either not a movie but this is a Vatican Stairs in Rome, Italy. Looking from the from the exit top of the stair down bellow to the ground then you can feel something high - you stand on high.It's so impressive to see how great the design of the stair. This picture was taken by *Toshio* during his visit to Vatican in Rome - Italy.To me it is very great building construction with such a great stair where i have never feel about this before. Nice built-in stairs created by Splyce Design/Build for their project, W. 2nd Street Renovation, Vancouver, BC. A previously unused space under an existing stair to the roof deck, was replaced with a multi-purpose millwork element. Framed with standard lumber, and covered with maple veneered panels, this piece provides roof deck access, as well as audio/video equipment storage and a built-in gas fireplace. To accentuate it’s free standing, furniture-like nature, the millwork stops short of the ceiling. Using simple mechanical hinges and pistons, this inventive staircase easily folds flush up against a wall to expand a lower space and/or to restrict access to an upper floor. The mechanics within the design allow any person to easily open or close the staircase from upstairs or downstairs. Inner pistons help slide the stairs back up swiftly to create a flush wall. The pistons also act as a gradient to lower each step individually after the stairs have been pulled out, creating a gradual, elegant wave-like pattern as the steps individually lock into place. I was stopped out of a few stocks in this afternoon's selloff, most notably VDSI.
