Filed by financier Madhu Gupta, who runs Mumbai-based Photo Films Industries, the lawsuit is to come up for hearing before a bench of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Justice R.V. Raveendran and Justice M.K. Sharma.

New Delhi, April 23 (IANS) Bollywood actress Sridevi faces legal trouble as a Mumbai-based financier Wednesday moved the Supreme Court seeking her trial after her cheques worth Rs.96.6 million allegedly bounced.
Sridevi, also known as Sreedevi Ayyappan, was born on August 13, 1963 in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu. She is an Indian actress who has starred in hundreds of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films. Her parents were Ayyappan, a lawyer, and Rajeswari. Sridevi has a sister, Srilatha, and a brother named Satish. Her father died while she was filming "Lamhe", her mother while she was making "Judaai". Although it is the Hindu custom that the eldest son lights the funeral pyre, Sridevi lit the pyre for her mother's last rites. Numerous sources claim that Sridevi had a relationship with actor Surya Maharjan from 1986 to 1987, and ended the relationship when she found out that he had not divorced his first wife, Yogita Bali.
