Okay, so I'm one of those pricks who are good at stalling people out with the lockdown, going so far as to tap out people completely new to it who think it's some kind of Achilles lock. For those who don't know, the Lockdown is the basis of Eddie Bravo's half-guard game, essentially an uncomfortable grapevining of the trapped leg in the half guard, meant to extend that leg and create opportunities

The IAAF postponed until Monday its ruling on whether double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius is eligible to race in the Beijing Olympics or whether his curved, prosthetic racing blades give him an unfair edge.It was the second postponement in a week, granting the 21-year-old South African more time to react to the findings of German professor Gert-Peter Brueggemann, who conducted tests on the prosthetic limbs and said they give him a clear competitive advantage over able-bodied runners. The ruling by the International Association of Athletics Federations, which is widely expected to go against Pistorius, was first expected on Thursday."The IAAF has now received a letter from the athlete Oscar Pistorius," the federation said in a statement. "The IAAF will not make any announcement on th
Everyone remembers Valeri Borzov winning the gold in 1972 Olympics in Munich.
And every American remembers the scheduling mix-up that prevented the top 2 Americans, Eddie Hart and Ray Robinson, from running the Quarter-finals.
The 3rd “unknown” American Robert Taylor did manage to run that QF, and went on to win a silver medal in a time of 10.24 (Borzov won in 10.14). I’ve often wondered how little he warmed up? A few push-ups and quick hamstring stretch?
Taylor did win the a Gold medal in the 4×100m relay, beating the USSR. That team comprised of Larry Black, Taylor, Gerald Tinker, and Hart.

Behr, a specialist for car and truck air conditioning and engine cooling systems, and Behr Hella Thermocontrol,(BHTC), the Behr-Hella joint venture specializing in climate control, in collaboration with DaimlerChrysler, have developed the air conditioning system for the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and the VW Crafter. Birgit Kelm, head of Truck Customer Projects at Behr, emphasizes the company’s level of involvement: "We not only took responsibility for implementing the air conditioning system itself, but also provided customer support in our role as consultant and systems integrator. We combined all the HVAC components into a single system, irrespective of whether the components came from us or from another manufacturer.”The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and the VW Crafter, developed in a joint project by DaimlerChrysler and VW, both have a standard heating system and the optional "Tempmatik” air conditioning system. When the temperature is adjusted manually, Tempmatik automatically fact
You may have read a recent post informing you of Intel’s new racist sprinter advert which was made by someone who was quite simply, stupid or really, really stupid.
Who in their right mind would make an ad with six black sprinter men bowing down to a white geek in tight pants? The advertising department need to get their act together, that’s for sure.
Thanks to all the negative publicity the sprinter ad has been creating for Intel, they have finally issued a statement of apology:
Intel’s intent of our ad titled “Multiply Computing Performance and Maximize the Power of Your Employees” was to convey the performance capabilities of our processors through the visual metaphor of a sprinter. We have used the visual of sprinters in the past successfully.
Unfortunately, our execution did not deliver our intended message and in fact proved to be insensitive and insulting. Upon recognizing this, we attempted to pull the ad from all publications but, unfortunately,

Justin Gatlin is facing up to an 8-year suspension from track and field for testing positive for testosterone and other steroids last summer. Gatlin tested the waters of Arizona and Houston but the Buccaneers were the only team to offer him a formal workout. The Buccaneers will decide whether to sign Gatlin and invite him back to next week’s mini-camp following this weekend’s.
Gatlin is no stranger to football; he just hasn’t played in a while. The last time he played was in high school. Gatlin has said that catching the ball isn’t a problem, he doesn’t drop balls. It is obvious that Gatlin has the speed for the NFL; in 2004 he won the gold medal in the 100-meter. Recently, in a workout in Houston he ran a 4.1 second 40-yard dash. While Gatlin is testing his hand as a wide receiver in mini-camp, his most likely position if he makes a team will be returning kicks.
Gatlin has the perfect agent for helping him find a place in this league. Renaldo Nehem
