Our first time here in Belize and both my husband and I have enjoyed our days here and we still have many more to come. So far we have experienced so much hospitality here at the Jungle Dome ~ everyone is so kind and friendly. First night in we relaxed by the pool with a yummy dinner and some Belikins ~ such great Belizean beer!We have done one adventure after the next. First day we did the ATM which was just fantastic ~ an experience everyone should walk away with. Today we drive with Luis to Caracol. Very good tour guide and great conversation. He had so much to say and share. Then we stopped by Rio Frio cave and the pool of waterfalls to swim in. It was all so much fun. Tonight we had our last wonderful meal with the Jungle Dome ~ best food on a vacation.We will miss the warm service and great food. Tomorrow we do the zip line and cave tubing and then off to the island but wanted to say many thanks to the wonderful stuff at the Jungle Dome. David is very friendly and fun to talk to

Ich muß mit Schande gestehen, dass ich bis vor gar nicht all zu langer Zeit, als ich einen dieser Hitcollections-Werbespots im Fernsehen erdulden musste und dort Dusty Springfield auch das erste mal in Person sah, ich immer dachte, Dusty Springfield sei eine Farbige. Die Stimme bei "Son Of A Preacher Man" war für mich so cremig, soulig, wie ich sie gerade zu dieser Zeit, von keiner weißen Sängerin erwartet hätte. Und auch der Song klingt nicht weiß, sondern nach Motown. Kein Wunder, denn er wurde auch zuerst Aretha Franklin angeboten, die ihn aber nicht wollte.
Im nachhinein kann man nur sagen, ein Glück für Dusty Springfield und auch für den Song, denn diese Stimme paßt hier so gut, dass auch eine Aretha Franklin es hier nicht leicht gehabt hätte, damit zu konkurrieren.

Downstown Springfield is once again very alive each evening. Feeling time had turned back about 30 years, my husband and I attended a concert with the Ozark Mountain Daredevils at the Gillioz Theatre in Springfield.This talented group of musicians started recording back in 1973. They play a variety of country/rock music that sets everyone's toes to tapping and hands a clapping. You can't help but join in with the crowd to keep from missing every beat. For you that have never heard of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, you have missed a wonderful local band that has more talent than any group around. (My Opinion). One of my favorites: " If You Want To Get To Heaven, You Got To Raise A Little Hell" really brought the house down. To enhance the evening, we were seated in the newly renovated Gillioz Theatre that reopened last year. A historic building just off the square in Springfield, this theatre is spectacular! Built in 1926, it seated 1200 people and is located on old "Route 66".

Buffalo Springfield - Last Time Around(1968)(Re-Post)320kbpsThe internal dissension that was already eating away at Buffalo Springfield's dynamic on their second album came home to roost on their third and final effort, Last Time Around. This was in some sense a Buffalo Springfield album in name but not in spirit, as the songwriters sometimes did not even play on cuts written by other members of the band. Neil Young's relatively slight contribution was a particularly tough blow. He wrote only two of the songs (though he did help Richie Furay write "It's So Hard to Wait"), both of which were outstanding: the plaintive "I Am a Child" and the bittersweet "On the Way Home" (sung by Furay, not Young, on the record). Speedway Expo that is put on by Dick Berggren’s Speedway Illustrated and Town Fair Tire. This I believ is the replace for Racearama.Once we get there, it starts with a $5 parking fee which includes a $5 off coupon for Speedway Illustrated Magazine one year/12 issues. Now that that’s over, $15 each for admission…now we are up to $35 total plus gasoline and Mass Pike tolls (unknown.)I have to say, compared to the 2001-2003 Racearama shows I went to at the same location, it lacks by at least 50%, my first and second show filled three builds, this one filled one building, plus part-way for the second building. Springfield Missouri Ice Storm - 2007Mother Nature is in the process of pruning her trees! Since the ice storm over the weekend, I am spending several hours a day making sure all the unoccupied homes that we currently have on the market are winterized and ok.Yesterday, we actually showed a few homes, then worked thru each home, shutting off the water and gas, if the homes are out of electricity. Pulling limbs off the roofs and checking on some of the elderly people we know.Here are a few photos of Springfield Missouri that we photographed today. I am still without power at my own home, except for a Brand New Generator that came in today! Hopefully we'll be back to normal in about a week.
