Nice, chunky construction. Spins at a good, high speed for efficient salad centrifuging. A tad on the expensive side, but it is quite trendy and seems to be well built. The bowl is nice enough to use as your actual salad bowl.

I have made a 3D spinner effect in flash before, but i really surprised when Dietrich Kappe the author of pathfinder agileajax announce the same effect in pure DHTML format.
The widget uses projection geometry (a view point and calculating image size and position based on where lines pass through the z=0 plane) and a little bit of trigonometry for the circle. Also, zIndex is set based on an object’s z coordinate. At this stage the implementation definitely performs differently based on machine horsepower and browser platform. It performs pretty well on IE7 and Safari 3, less well on Firefox.
This effect done using GWT (Google Web Toolkit) 1.5, look at the demo here. Dietrich still working on this library to add more functionality on this effect like drag and drop, response to clicks on images, the ability to spin arbitrary DOM elements, also to have CSS to control the style.

"Metal Spinner"Completed: 10.16.2007pencil on paper4" x 4" I drew the layout for this small sketch while at one of my jobs - Old Navy. As I was sitting in the back room looking for something to draw on my break, I saw a spinner sitting on top of a shelf. I liked how the shelf seemed to frame the spinner and the mathematical look to the composition. So, I sat in the middle of the back room drawing. (Of course, I got some curious looks when some of my co-workers came into the backroom, but they know I'm an artist and knew that I had to be creating an artwork! :). I'm hoping to practice my observation skills some more by sketching things around me. Back to creating! Shannon

We have always said that we would like Charlie to be able to think outside of the box. Charlie seems to do this every day (exemplified by acts such as eating shoes rather than wearing them). Today she thought of a new way to use the Jolly Jumper. You may also note that in the video she is holding a pillow, don't ask me why, but she loves it.

Those morons at Nicnames still ain’t delivering email even though they are now trying to send it to the correct BT email address. Just spoke to them, after a long wait, and asked for another log file entry for a non-delivered email and the support person agreed to send it directly to the underlying BT email address to see if I can see anything obviously wrong with it. If not I will forward it to BT, where I have a case number for this mess. Odd thing is Nicnames still spout on about having problems with delivering email to BT, but also Virgin and Hotmail. Sounds like the ball is in their court. I wonder how much they make from using an 0870 number for their support desk. They make at least 2p per minute per call. So if they can generate a healthy number of people phoning that number and leave them in voicemail jail for 20 minutes they got a good business model. Awright.Â
