I was thinking to myself that this movie has a lot to live up to. This is a classic cartoon and many people who grew up on Speed Racer (including myself) don't want it ruined by the silver screen. Just like the cartoon it follows Speed Racer and his Mach 5 car. The film is loaded with amazing special effects but the script doesn't match up to the visual effects. The story is overdrawn and the movie is almost over stylized. I wouldn't go as far to say that I would have rather seen the cartoon version up on screen, but the film was over plotted and too long. Maybe the Wachowski brothers got themselves in too deep with this one. With that said the visual effects make this film worthwhile especially for taking the little ones. Warner Brothers is now getting desperate, as it beginning to look like "Speed Racer" will tank big time this weekend. This past weekend I had the great joy of experiencing the wonderful Iron Man (review coming), which ranks right up there with the best of the superhero movies, the original Superman (1978). Since it was the first big movie of the 2008 season, I was excited to see the new crop of trailers that would tease audiences about what this summer might be like (as if we didn't know already).One of the best is the goose-bump inducing Speed Racer which looks visually stunning and super exciting (let's hope there's a story to go along with all the flash).   La serie de dibujos animados de la cual guardo los mas tempranos recuerdos es Meteoro (Speed Racer), mi comiquita favorita de la infancia . Obra del Japonés Tasuo Yoshida, fue creada en 1967 y es conocida hoy en casi todo el mundo.  El 9 de este mes se estrena la película que se basa en esta serie animada, la cual por supuesto no me pienso perder. Por este motivo les dejo aquí dos videos, uno del trailer del film que se estrena en unos días y otro de la introducción de la serie de dibujos animados en español de finales de los 60. Speed Racer isn't doing so hot at the theater. Just a FYI. Studio sources are attempting to explain away the bad tracking by saying that family films never score particularly well in advance audience surveys, but there’s something fundamentally wrong in the numbers that have been described to me. Un-Aided Awareness, an excellent measure of buzz and anticipation, is stronger for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Disney) at 9% than it is for Speed Racer at 8%, and the Narnia sequel won’t hit theatres until May 16.

So the Speed Racer movie is coming out next week, I've seen both the domestic and international trailer a few times and I still remain unsold based on it.
