Just received the show flyer for a Sonny Bonoho performance with a live band! Apparently the way the two connected was thru a jam session that Sonny had with Lee Oskar, a former member of WAR. In that session was a drummer who's in a group called Flowmotion who said that they wanted Sonny to be a part of their set. So far as I know, he'll be on stage for four songs and hopefully more. They rehearse again this Thursday and I'm sure some more days prior to their evening at Nectar on Friday, April 11th, 2008.  This is a nice, well broke, quiet and gentle 6 yr old gelding. He is started and patterned on the Barrels and Poles and has been hauled and nothing seems to bother him. - Stealing a thunder on The Avalanches, Sonny J brings into the fray 'Can't Stop Moving'. Taken from his second album, the track relies heavily on samples and a rather repetitive "Can't stop moving/I can't stop moving" to give the track it's hook. With 70's string arrangements and the spoken word as opposed to a structured vocal melody, the track glides in with an effortless Northern working men's club style introduction before the repeated strings loop into place. Sounding ever so slightly Gnarls Barkley, the track proceeds at a decent pace, but nothing more than floor-time groove (this is not bump and grind stuff here kids). If 'Frontier Psychiatrist' was your bag, you will love this offering - if however, like me, it irritated you to the point of throwing the cat through your television screen every time the video came up on MTV, avoid for the feline's sake.

Watching Canada AM, I just half-listened to a commercial and perked up at the words “urine test dot c a,” only to see what the actual url was: hearing test dot c a. There’s a haiku here somewhere, but I suck at haikus.  Haikus?  That doesn’t look right.  Can you pluralize haiku?  Is pluralize even a word? I need a teacher.  This one just got fired from iVillage and is on her own now ~ perhaps I can hire her to help me think. She’ll just have to talk loud.

We were lucky enough to be able to see Sonny again yesterday. He came up so our regular vet can do a teeth cleaning on him. Well, the vet found that his teeth were worse than they had originally thought. He had many exposed roots which probably caused him a lot of pain, poor guy. They ended up pulling 10 teeth! He should still be able to eat just fine after his stitches heal up. I find it interesting that on his vet bill each tooth is listed. Some were surgically extracted. He needs to be on soft food for a week or so. His family was happy to get him back last night. Sonny is such an amazing dog. I was glad to see that he remembered me and was happy to see me again. Our rough collie boy, Sonny, who found a home recently, came back to visit last night. We are going to take him in for a teeth cleaning today because we had it scheduled. He is so much fun to have around, and I didn’t realize how much I missed him until I saw him again. He was so happy to see me, too, he danced and pranced around. It’s very nice to be remembered! He was sad, though, when his new Dad left and he didn’t get to go with. He is such a good boy. His Dad said that Sonny checks every bed at night, and if any of them are empty (they have 6 kids, some are college age) he will go and wait by the door until they come home. He is such a good collie boy to make sure his family is all home and safe. I love that boy.

 Doc is an amazing horse! He can be shown from Western Pleasure, to Hunt Seat, to even barrel racing and pole bending. he is a champion barrel racer been doing it since he was 3 and looks amazing under english. This is the type of horse that you need to earn your trust with first to do anything with! he is very loving and sweet, great trail horse loves to run. would suggest an intermediate to advanced rider. neck reins, moves off from legs great! and is wonderful on the ground does showmanship amazingly. He has been around cows, will do team penning, just needs more time put on him around cows, isnt dangerous or nothing just needs to learn. he clips, ties, loads, what ever it is, you name it and he can do it. Has Impressive and Sunny Dee Bar in his lines. will not sell until i find a new horse, but looking for an amazing owner.  SMALL AS ENTWISTLE (AQHQ Reg. #3385957), aka Dolly, is a beautiful 10 year old bay granddaughter of Sonny Dee Bar. Her pedigree boasts Grab the Gold on the bottom side as well. She has the classic SDB head. Dolly is broodmare sound only due to an accident when she was two. Dolly's last three foals were all stunners. They all have great bone and size. Dolly is an easy breeder, always settling on her first cycle in with the stallion. She foals very easily and is a great mother. She sells in foal to a palomino AQHA stallion, Gresham (The Major Leaguer x Miss Holly Steel) in hopes for a buckskin or palomino baby in late March 2008. Sonny was chewing a bully stick tonight and I had to snap some pictures. He is such an amazing dog. Patient, loving, likes attention, great on walks.. we took him and Jessi for a walk tonight, too. They do great and have so much fun. When we got home it was some chewing fun. Sonny’s people who had him before must miss him terribly. He follows me from room to room, he snuggles up with me on the couch, and he is always gentle and sweet. He has never shown one hint of any type of aggression, and puts up with his grooming like a trooper. If I was able to keep another collie, Sonny would be one I would love to keep. He would even be great at a California bed and breakfast as a greeter dog. When my husband and I went to Maine on our honeymoon, there was a very sweet golden mix that stayed at the Bed and Breakfast there… and every day I got a little bit of dog fix from her, since we had to leave our pack home.

I tend to me more reserved about the collies we get into rescue than my husband does. I take things especially slowly when introduction the fosters to our regular pack. I usually crate for longer than my husband would like. And I take a long time introducing the dogs to our cats. My husband thinks Sonny will be fine with cats. I wasn’t sure so I put him up on Petfinder as no cats. However, I am changing my mind. We had our black cat out tonight with Sonny, and Sonny was sniffing her and watching her, but he made no move to even chase her, and after only a few minutes he was wandering around the basement ignoring her, and would have walked under our poker tables if we had any. So I think Sonny will be fine with cats in the home. I updated Petfinder to reflect this. This includes a picture of Sonny on our couch upstairs. He naturally jumps on the couch and lays down. His new home would be best if they could allow him to continue on the couch. He does no damage, and he can lay on

My husband and I laid Sonny down again for some more grooming. We are doing it in bits and peices so he can tolerate it. He is mostly groomed out, but still has some part of his chest and belly that are a little bit matted. The poor guy, he is so patient, when I pull on him he shows me his teeth but never bites or anything, just complains and lets me know it hurts. And so I am more gentle. He is a doll. When he is all done we’ll take him to a Orlando vacation home for a reward. LOL, or so I wish!

Sonny’s vet check went really well. He has some lumps on his underside that are just fatty, so that is good. His skin is a little raw so he’s on antibiotics for a week. His teeth need to be cleaned, their next cleaning wasn’t until the end of September, so bummer we have to wait. Sonny got to come with to the Sheltie Rescue house to get a microchip, then we stopped by a corn and watermelon stand to get some of those. Then we went to PetCo, too, for a new collar and some other various things. He had a great time going for a ride and visiting all these places. He is now out of the crate at night at home, and during the day, too. He hasn’t marked in days, so we are pretty sure it was just a new dog thing. He is a happy guy who always seems to have a smile on his face. He’s now listed on Petfinder, too!

These two are such sweeties. We love them both. Sonny is a big goofy collie boy just like all of them. He is chinning over the other dogs, even Lucy, so we are watching him for a while. If you click on this picture you can see a bigger image. I love the look on both of their faces. They are a couple of happy kids. Not sure how Sonny does on a walk yet, but we hope to find out. And I have to get him groomed. His underside has huge mats, beyond my ability to groom out. He’s going to need a professional. And he goes to the vet on Monday.

Meet Sonny! Sonny is a sable rough collie who needs a new home. His family had to move away and couldn’t take him with. He is a sweet heart and settling in well, even after just a day. He likes to play fetch with a ball, and eat yummy food. Sonny is about seven years old, and full of spunk and life. He needs to go to the vet for a checkup, probably needs his teeth cleaned, and needs a good grooming. His coat is matted on his belly and underside, and is beyond my ability to groom out. So he’s going to have to take a trip to the groomer to fix him up and get him all pretty again. We don’t yet know much about Sonny and hopefully we will know more in a few days. We need to get his vet records to find out if he has been vaccinated recently. We’ll get him a heartworm test to make sure he is negative, and start him on medications. He is getting along great with our other pack. Jessi, our other foster, is doing really well with him. He does want to be a bit dominan

 Cassie is a gorgeous mare with awesome conformation for Western Pleasure. She is extremely athletic and a really good mover. We bought her as a riding horse, but we found out from her breeder that she suffered an elbow kick as a 2 year old. Although she is 100 sound and rideable, our vet does not think she will hold up to regular riding, so we are offering her for sale as a broodmare. She has had two gorgeous foals. She is an easy keeper and a sweet, gentle, quiet mare.
