My son was a good size baby when he was born (8lbs,7oz) and thus, had chubby ankles. Very cute, chubby ankles I might add. We received a TON of baby socks as presents. Baby socks are super cute and almost irresistible when purchasing a gift for a new baby. Here's the problem, they are super tiny too. If your baby fits into these socks, well then that is great, but not if your baby has irresistibly cute, chubby ankles. When I put a pair of socks on my brand new baby, I noticed they were really tight. So tight that they cut into is skin and left a mark. As I was searching the store for newer, bigger socks, I realized I had a problem. The bigger socks are too big and would fall off. I then discovered ankle socks for babies! They are for sure not as cute as the decorative socks, but hey, they are comfy for your baby and that is what's most important!

Mainly thanks to Prada, socks have made another comeback. Footless / legwarmers, over-knees, 1/2-footed things... anything socky. I love the ideas - in theory. I think that, on the right pair of legs, knee-highs can look brilliant with a work skirt. Over-knees can look great piled over a casual boot. 1/2 foots can look great with... ummm... I'm not sure about those. I was thinking of doing a bit of DIY and just cutting half the foot of a pair of grey knee-highs, but not sure what I'd wear them with. The mate to a sock that gets lost in the laundry is a frustrating problem for everyone. They whirl off into some vortex never to be seen again. But I don't share this issue with everyone. I stow lonely socks away in a laundry bag and clean it out once a month. You know what I find? All Pairs. Every time. I'm so proud of myself for solving such a simple problem. But this morning when I was cleaning out the bag I had an epiphany. This must be why I have bigger problems in my life. I've solved the trivial ones. If you’re trying to use a socks server with Internet Explorer , Firefox, Opera or Safari everything will work just fine, except for authentication. From my point of view this is a big problem. Who in the world would leave such a proxy server unprotected? Yeah of course you can always limit access to a proxy server based on ip address, but in some cases ( see NAT ) this is just not going to work. Internet explorer supports only the socks4 protocol which doesn’t even support full password authentication ( only username and it defaults to the current logged in username ) .
