In Wallace D Wattles’ Book “The Science of Getting Rich” he makes the following statement in chapter 12:
The world is advanced only by those who more than fill their present places.
If no one quite filled their present place, there would be backward movement in
everything. Those who do not quite fill their present places are dead [...]

A tribute to mothers:
By Pansy Hamilton Brown, For The Guardian -
Nassau, Bahamas:
Mothers should dare to be different and be the queen of their households. Be the mothers who in the face of difficulties and adversities embrace the joy of motherhood and fearlessly accept the challenges of nurturing your children and serving your husbands with dignity.
Endeavor to give birth to new parenting skills and be a model for displaying a loving heart, irrespective of the situations as you teach the world how to love.
Caring mothers are invaluable, and their sterling qualities exceed the language of the most excellent orator. They are the nucleus of their families, harmonized with the devotion of fathers. The sunshine and cheerfulness that most mothers bring to their families produce children
Don't Just Take, Give Some Back TooYou must have heard this a dozen times. Give back to the society what you have earned. Donate to charity. And so on.Many wealthy people always emphasize on charity. They say when you have made it, please don't forget about your society. Give back to them. Make it a better world for those who are less fortunate. Here's a dialogue from the movie Jerry Maguire that I will never forget.I'll tell you why you don't have your $ million. You play for the money. You play with your head, not your heart. When you get on the field, it's all about what you didn't get. Who's to blame. Who's got the contract you didn't get. That is not what inspires people! Shut up! Play the game from your heart. Then I'll show you the kwan. And that's the truth! Most people in the world j

Topic: Talk about crimes in societyThere are activities in the human society. People work in all kinds of business firms, government offices, factories and other places, to earn their livelihood. Some people work from dawn till dark; most of them work during the day; and others work only at night. At the same time men with criminal tendency are engaged in all kinds of activity, which often cause great hardship and sorrow to a large number of people in society.Men develop criminal tendencies because of numerous frustrations. Society has always failed to satisfy the social, emotional and other needs of a large number of people, many of whom have therefore turned to crime for either survival or recognition. The activities of such men represent a constant threat to the welfare society, and muc
Saving less does not mean stop saving:
By INDERIA SAUNDERS, Guardian Business Desk -
Nassau, Bahamas:
Rising costs are not only affecting the bank balance of the average Bahamian, but are also chipping away at her retirement fund.
Amidst increasing gas, food and electricity prices, caution investment specialists, many Bahamians forget about paying another bill — monthly contributions to their nest eggs. Now's really the time to step up those payments, argues Khalil Braithwaite with Colina Financial Advisors Ltd.
"In good times save, in bad times, save even more (because) a possible recession is going to have some indirect effects," he told Guardian Business Thursday. "Generally 10 percent is enough, but realistically people should be looking at saving around 15 percent."

These days a newspaper is a sad commentary on the state of our society; and its articles reveal in many ways the depravity of the human heart. Stories of murder and rape, suing or exhortion, supposed discrimination defeating religious freedom, young children committing terrible acts, senseless accidents, and attacks against Christianity fill it's pages. Yet a recent article I read revealed the terrible condition of our society in a slightly more obscure way. The report was about a tragic accident. A group of young people had stolen a vehicle, and in running from police struck a taxi and killed the driver. Later, police interviewed a 16 year old passenger and were shocked at her cold and callous view of what happened. Her comments were so heartless and shocking that the newspaper includ

Today, I wanted to give a shout out to the Intersex Society of North America (ISNA) which works tirelessly for the rights of intersexual individuals (people born with ambiguous genitalia who are not male or female). ISNA advocates for change within the medical establishment which currently deals with intersex children by assigning them a gender the doctor and parents feel is reflective of the child. The child often undergoes "cosmetic surgery". Intersexual children face many difficulties later in
Technology has affected society and its surroundings in a number of ways. In many societies, technology has helped develop more advanced economies (including today's global economy) and has allowed the rise of a leisure class. It is also a great help towards business society in marketing their product thru a worldwide range of consumers. Through technology we made our world very small, in such a way that we can access facts and products in just a matter of a single minute. Amazing technology! We can even purchase a gold coin online, Isn't that amazing guys? In general, technology is the relationship that society has with its tools and crafts, and to what extent society can control its environment.

A Married Man realizes that society is subtly promoting promiscuity.MTV, Channel V, E! Channel...filled with tales of affairs and divorces.Lyrics? There's no more "I'm in love with her and I feel fine".Instead, we have "I want to make love in this club". I don't care if there's people watching.Superb! A Married Man once said that, and he got a right old spanking. It's as if culture and society is slowly trying to separate married couples by saying casual sex is not only acceptable, but encouraged. So could you blame a Married Man for saying "Promiscuous girl...I know what you are...da da da".
OPINION-Crime and punishment -
The Nassau, Guardian:
There are around one thousand people in prison in The Bahamas. Is that a lot or little? How can we tell?
Compared to the 2.2 million people languishing in U.S. jails it does not sound all that many, but the population of The Bahamas barely exceeds 300,000, compared to the United States population in 2005 of 298.2 million.
Prison, what a strange thing it is. We can remember our shock as a child being told that some adults had done things so bad, that they had to be locked away for years until they knew better. We could hardly imagine anything worse. Prisons seem to belong to the age of the horse-drawn cart and the workhouse, not to satellites and the Internet. If anything, we should be phasing them out - converting the prison into
Earl Shilton Building Society has announced today it is cutting its standard variable rate by a parsimonious 0.05% to 7.35%.
Although several lenders have still not announced any cut at all in their SVR following this month’s 0.25% reduction in bank rate one has to wonder whether it is really worth the admin effort to cut by just 0.05%. Even Northern Rock has managed a 0.1% cut!
A cut of 0.05% must be a record for the smallest SVR cut of any lender for a very long time, and possibly ever, and at 7.35% Earl Shilton’s SVR is now one of the highest of any lender, let alone any building society!

I've been giving a lot of thought to the comments and advice given concerning our daughter at the residential center. It really did tick me off that they considered our not even wanting to discuss terminating our parental rights as being selfish but I think what really bothers me is how flippant they are to adopted children. I'm beginning to think that it's really a much larger societal problem in that society feels adopted children are somehow less than a birth child.I think of the many run ins over the years with people who are just plain uneducated on adoption and what it means and in those cases if it's that they are uneducated about adoption then I can have a little more understanding and patience. Who I don't expect it from are doctors, lawyers, police officers and therapists."Te
Have you heard about it? It is illustrated. The main character is the mommy explaining how she doesn't feel good about herself so she's going to alter her body and look different. She explains tummy tucks, nose jobs etc.,.. And in the bubble above the mom's head is how horrible she looks in her mind and then her smiling at the end result. Well you know what my thoughts are going to be on this:H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E!
As a society we should be trying to teach our youngster to be proud of who they are and what they look like, the things that make them who they are. In life their are NO QUICK FIXS. So why teach them about plastic surgery at such a young age? I think this sends the wrong message to children and aides in us becoming a plastic society. And I see no one lining up to tell these kids
Reading an article on CBC about high gas prices, I came across this comment:The fuel price is actually very low when you consider what you get for it.You know the price of fuel is too low when: Trucks are a fashion statement; People leave their cars idling outside shops where we all have to inhale that stuff; suburbs are devoid of groceries; ordinary people avoid transit; we leave our homes heated when at work and even on vacation (houses are even designed to never have the heat shut off); horses are driven from place to place (they used to actually be a MODE of transportation!)It's encouraging to see other people just as baffled as I am.

Hey there. I was in a discussion with a friend about her lunch and she was discussing with some of her colleagues on whether eating fruit before or after a meal is more beneficial than the other. I told her that I remember reading somewhere that eating fruit a good 15 - 30 mins after a meal aids digestion. She said that she remembered someone saying to eat fruit before to help you feel full. This made me think for a second and went on to say that society now a days, doesn't know what good for them. You read about all kinds of shit online, see all types of ads on TV, either promoting or demoting products. I expressed this thought to her using a runner as an example. Doctors and what not say that it's beneficial to run, better circulation, good exercise. But, you also hear the opposite side

Nanotechnology and Society is a collection of twelve essays regarding the ethical implications of emerging nanotechnologies. The book is divided into four unites, which capture the four "hottest" topics in nanoethics: envisioning the future; nonomedicine; human enhancement; and privacy. The design of this book is to engender debates on these topics rather than merely to present unrelated articles. On each of these topics, there will be three papers. In most cases, there is one paper that "sets the stage" for the debate by talking about the status of the sciences and the effects that those sciences will have on society, and then this paper is followed by two articles which take contrary positions on the moral significance of those developments.

The purpose of the Church:
By KARAN MINNIS, Guardian Lifestyles Reporter -
Nassau, Bahamas:
The Bahamas is touted as a Christian nation built on the values and principles of the Bible, and boasts a number of denominations from Roman Catholic to Anglican, Assemblies of God, Ba'hai, Baptist, Brethren, Greek Orthodox and Jewish, among others.
In New Providence alone there are so many churches that it is hard to put a figure on the actual number, with new ones opening their doors almost daily. They're all filled to capacity on any given Sunday, or Saturday — depending on your faith.
Despite the church's faithful followers there are those people who are said to have lost sight of the "true" purpose of the church, which is to guide the nation and prepare people for the Kingdom of Heave

Each and every one has a different perspective, standpoint and principle in life.
