      It Snowed in Denver Yesterday
It snowed in Denver yesterday. I had flakes on my Mountain Hardware jacket. Do you still want to go skiing? Arapahoe Basin is still open with a lot of snow. Last week, I was one of the first people to have fresh tracks on their East Wall. I felt the snow hit my knee. That's right...this snow hit my knee and I had freshies last Saturday at Arapahoe Basin. Happy Mothers Day! http://

      Day 35 - We're snowed in!
Outside its a snow blizzard. In April! Inside its just as chilly. Hazel is grounded. And feels penned in. She's also hungry. She's sitting on the sofa pulling faces at me. I think I hear her singing: "Roy is a fatty, a fatty, Roy is a fatty".I turn to her and say: "Now, that's not very nice? Is it? Calling me fatty."Hazel replies: "I didn't say fatty. I said FAT HEAD."Oh, that makes it alright, then.

      It Snowed Today!
Well, I know compared to a lot of the world this isn't much, but for those of here in Birmingham, Alabama... It's a "Winter Storm" (please hold the laughter) I went out and took some pictures and... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Finally! Snowed in at Home, With Time for Cookin'!
I'm baaaaaack! Didja miss me? I've been busy this past week or so, but although I haven't found much time for cooking, I haven't stopped checking up on all my buds in blogland. Even though I haven't had the time to leave pithy comments, don't worry, I've stopped by!This weekend, I finally had the time to actually cook something that didn't at least partially originate from a box or can. Turns out we were due for "slight accumulation" of snow...check out the dusting or snow we got this afternoon.... thank God they weren't calling for a blizzard, or we never would have been able to dig our asses out of it. Anyway, it was pretty and since I didn't have to go out and drive in it, the whole thing was cool with me. Today, I decided to focus on All Things Bread. Hey, I know I've said it before, b

      It Snowed
But only for the first half hour. I made it up the Driveway of Doom on my second try, and the trip was lovely and uneventful. I allowed myself eight hours on account of winter driving conditions, etc...but forgot to factor in the fact that I was driving South. The weather got better as the miles ticked by, and I did the drive in five hours.Dire warnings about the traffic in these parts though have me worried that my visiting time will be cut short. I'd forgotten about that aspect of city living. Traffic just isn't an issue in our wee little town.I have nothing to share other than this quick update. I'm tired. I've grinned apologetically at my inbox and shruggishly written a blog post instead of responding to well wishes and inquiries as to how the trip went. Yep. I'm lazy like that.I shall

      It Snowed On Maui!
Will wonders ever cease?Yes, snow fell on Haleakala, and the roadway at the top was closed! Several people I know have told me they saw the silvery snowfall from the distance, and some have even taken photos of it. I wasn't whistling Dixie when I posted it was COLD on Maui!Lelabear--post your photos of the snow so that we can see them!Back to sniffling and cuddling and shivering....Later in the day I received a phone call from my mate who called me from his cell, and he said the clouds had now cleared. So I climbed on my roof to capture a photo of the snow on Haleakala, and here it is--ta da!

      Snowed In
Today we had a Nor'easter blow through New Hampshire. I am very happy to know that we did not get as much that was forcasted earlier in the week. I think we got about 10 inches of the white, fluffy stuff:) Michael and I had big plans to get things done around the house, but he has been fighting off the sickies on the couch all day. Thank goodness that our neighbor came over with his snowblower because I DID NOT want to shovel all that snow. I will get some photos tomorrow for those of you who like to see our winter wonderland. It's looking like we are definitely having a white Christmas. On Saturday, Michael had to work so I ventured out with the kid's to a holiday make n' take at Wesley's school. He made several art projects for Christmas. Lani was even able to make a few goodies for our tree. She loved the donut holes from Dun.kin Donu.ts, but was not thrilled with Santa!Later, our friends Melissa and Joel came over with their daughter Sarah. We ate dinner, dessert, and hung out.

Winter Productivity - Don't Get Snowed In
We're slowly and inevitably feeling the holiday spirits coming up and we should make the most of it.Productivity is, in a lot of cases, at its finest in the winter season and holidays. Knowing that more and more entrepreneurs need a good, solid advertising campaign to get the word out about who they are, what are they selling, advantages, prices, messages, etc. I'd like to contribute to their success.I'm sure this template will come in aid to a lot of people and if it does, I've achieved my goal for it.Here's a message and a productivity advice from me: whatever you do... don't get snowed in!Of course this photoshop template may also be use at other things, such as a Christmas postcard, a holiday flyer, a winter poster, snow party flyer, card, presentation and the good thing about it is that you can fully personalize it.You have the snowflake background, nice shadow text (snow text), a white box with a red ribbon around it and great colors overall I think. If you want to get an

      The News: Snowed In Edition
For all of you displaced Yinzers, today is our first really bad snow day of the season. And since I spent the better part of my morning playing around with snow-related time wasters, The News is abridged for now. More links coming later... --Wednesday is a big night in Pittsburgh, as Pitt takes on Duquesne. Dukes Court provides blanket coverage. --The Pirates trade for both Miguel Cabrera AND Dontrelle Willis! Did I say Pirates? I meant Tigers. --The Steelers could get Polamalu and Santonio back for the New England game, risking their 3-0 record without them. --The FBI nabbed two at the Sunday nighter in Pittsburgh. No, neither was a Bengal.--So Terrelle Pryor was in attendance at the Backyard Brawl? --I somehow missed this, but SI's Dr. Z. said that Lawrence Timmons' stomp of Ricky Williams was deliberate. Hey, he hates drug users. Back off.--The winner of NBC's Phenomenon picked the Steelers over the Pats, paying no attention to the 14-point spread the black and gold currently fac

Yes, we visited Santa. Unfortunately, even Rima's excellent advice of backing him in didn't work. Within a nano-second of hitting Santa's velvet pants, he screamed his head off. However, the elves said we have an excellent chance at winning The Best Screaming Shot of 2007 Award. Sa-weet!When the forecast called for 12 inches of snow, I was initially irritated because we were forced to cancel all our plans and stay in this weekend.Hello, stupid. We got our Christmas tree decorated. We played outside until our extremities froze. And we watched the best Christmas story ever for the 102nd time.May you all get snowed in soon. And often.

It snowed today in Texas, didn't you hear?
Stay at home mom? That's me. I don't get too many days off, either. But today, I took one. Katie was out of town with family for the day and since I only had AJ and Abby, I decided to call an early "snow day" and we skipped school. We stayed in our pajamas until 11:30 and we lounged around the house as if we had nothing better to do.I tried crafting...made some of these flowers from Wisecraft, mod-podged a picture frame for a Christmas present, but I really couldn't get into the whole crafting thing, as much as I wanted to. I just have too many things on my mind right now, I suppose. As I mentioned previously, the last couple of weeks have been a tad bit stressful, to say the least. I usually don't blog about it because of...well, privacy issues - there are people from church that read this blog, as well as extended family members and I don't want pity, I want prayer. But, in the interest of full disclosure, I have decided to share my story, because I feel like a hypocrite for pret

MySpace users snowed in by new blizzard of spam
Buried brunettes beg for help Analysis In the beginning, MySpace was a place to meet new friends and get to know old ones even better by browsing their journals, photos and network of chums. But soon, Viagra marketers, pedophiles and hackers latched onto MySpace and rendered it as ineffective as most other net-based public forums. [...]

Last time I said spring was here it snowed the next day....
This time... I think it's safe to say spring is finally here!!I love this picture for a couple reasons... 1. you can see our view of the lake in the background. and 2. Isaiah was pretending he didn't know I was taking pictures of him... but was totally showing off his skillz for the camera. This picture represents how Josiah plays... cautiously. And this one represents how Malachi plays.... adventuresly.Elijah enjoying being pushed in his swing by Josiah. And Malachi manning the pirate wheel that he got for his birthday.http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h305/tmndsrhjhn_photos/6.jpg

Fruit of being snowed in ACEO
Well the snow has let up, and that means that I had to go out and shovel the drive way. The damage was 2 feet of snow that had to be moved! My back in killing me.Between doing that and giving the kids something to do on a snowed in day, I managed to make a new ACEO and place it along with a few others on eBay. Here is the latest one:Click on the image to go to the auction please :)
