The Smurfs (Les Schtroumpfs) are a fictional group of small sky blue creatures who live in Smurf Village somewhere in the woods. The Belgian cartoonist Peyo introduced Smurfs to the world in a series of comic strips, making their first appearance in the Belgian comics magazine Le Journal de Spirou on October 23, 1958. The English-speaking world perhaps knows them best through the popular 1980s
I’m always amazed when my kids are into stuff that I liked as a kid. Books like Cat in the Hat, games like Candyland, and now cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Superfriends, and The Smurfs. Compared to today’s computer generated animation, cartoons of the 70s are laughable. Just like the video games [...]
Straight Shooter has a post up today that had me singing along and remembering. In Puh-leeze tell me ya remember! she recount the story of how whe burst out singing a candy bar jingle from the days of her childhood (”Sometimes you feel like a nut”…) in front of her kids and they looked at [...]
Columbia Pictures gave the Smurfs something special for their 50th anniversary -- the announcement of a live action movie starring the tiny blue characters with white hats.
It has been announced that the production company has acquired the motion picture rights to the Belgian-born characters from Lafig Belgium S.A. for a Smurfs movie which will mix computer-generated imagery and live action. The

I posted the images of the awesome computer geeks working on THE SMURFS Movie. Producer Jordan Kerner explained his great vision for the trilogy.
So what now?
Ever since then, we haven’t heard any development. But an info has arrived and it’s not a trailer, not more new images, not even a poster… it’s basically just [...]
This is Smurfs Attack available at SplitReason.com
Split Reason has been around since 2003, however they seem to have steered more and more towards the tried and tested popularity vote system you can find at Threadless and many other similar t-shirt designer sites. (I have a problem as a designer with this format - it [...]
The word on the street is that there is going to be a new Smurf Movie in 2009. Rumor has it, it may be part of a trilogy. The Smurf Movie may also be in 3D (though it is unlikely the characters will be).Well, I know what you are asking, "Why are you bringing up the Smurf Movie? What do Smurfs have to do with eBay?"Well eBay friends I will tell you. This post is a trend watch, and I am guessing that The Smurfs will be the hot new trend.I am assuming this will be similar to the Transformer trend of the past. I am sure there will be a lot of marketing to promote the New Smurf movie in the next year, so now is the time for you to take action.I recommend that while you are out at garage sales, or if you see any cool smurf items on the internet, or have any at home, that you hang on to them
Those of you who are around my age (that is 30), you should vividly remember the Smurfs! Yes, those blue little creatures living in these mushroom houses, being constantly chased by Gargamel and his vicious cat, Azrael... Don't be snob, I know you were all watching that shit and that you were secretly in love with Smurfette! Anyway, the reason I recall all these unfortunate moments of our youth is because of Split Reason's new design, the Smurfs Attack! Of course the design is printed on blue t-shirt for obvious reasons. I just want you to take a closer look at the Smurfs and see what each one of them does. Some are just hilarious! Check out the one that drops his Walkie Talkie...Smurfs Attack $17.95

Candy companies must have taken Gargamel’s idea of eating Smurfs a little too literally when they released their versions “Smurf Bubble Gum”. Thankfully, you aren’t actually chewing Smurfs. Imagine how traumatizing that would be for fans of the show! The gum was produced back during the Smurfs’ peak of popularity in the early 1980’s. I know the Smurfs are still extremely popular in Europe and I wonder if Smurf gum is still being made today.
There are 6 different types of gum in the gallery over at Bluebuddies, a Smurf fanpage. Topps made a gum assortment of blue and white lumpy pieces called “Smurf Rocks” as well as two different sets of Smurf trading cards that each came with a stick of Smurf gum. The “Smurf Rocks” came in 4 wrapper styles featuring the Smurf characters and holding about 1.3 ounces of gum. The other types are a Bazooka-eque gum coming from Turkey that included stickers, a
It's time to tell the truth about Smurfs...You see, Smurfs are a lot like other folks; they have dreams and ambitions, deep, thoughtful conversations with each other, and good and bad times."But," people ask, "do Smurfs have... you know... sex?"The answer is an emphatic and resounding yes! And why shouldn't they? They're people, too. What most people don't know is why Smurfs are blue. Well, the reason is because Smurfs only have sex once a year. Face it: if you had sex only once a year, you'd be blue, too. Once a year, in the Smurf village, flags and banners fly happily in the breeze, proclaiming that the day of the annual Smuckfest has arrived. Birds sing and the Sun comes out to watch, despite the weather-Smurf's direst predictions. I guess good ol' Mr. Sun is a voyeur. In the middle of town, Papa Smurf gives a brief speech explaining the origin of the Smuckfest; how Dr. C. Everett Koop came to the village and warned all the Smurfs about AIDS.Papa Smurf knew that no one made c
EWOKS ------- VS ------ --- SMURFS"My fellow smurfs I have gathered you here today to give you some good news and some bad news. " Papa Smurf announced to the gathered group of smurfs."Oh I knew it ,tell us the bad news first papa." Grouchy Smurf said in a pessimistic grouchy way. "Well the bad news is that here in the woods we have been so greedy that we have nearly eaten all the smilax leaves and smurfberries, we only have enough left for maybe 2 more days." Papa smurf said looking at the floor and playing with his beard."OHH SMURF IT" The group of gathered smurfs said in unison. A panicked chatter broke out between the group , and the little Smurflings started to cry."Don't you all want to know the good news?" Papa said eagerly. "Well the good news is that we knew that this would happen so Brainy Smurf and Grandpa Smurf have been smurfing away and built something really special that will help us. " "Follow me smurfs" Papa smurf led the way around the corner to the workshop of Brain
