It means you have to type smiley’s standard code and a correct smiley will appear.

When you use a smiley or emoticon - do people really know what you are saying? There seem to be many problems in communication / conveying mesasges that arise because of the lack of consistency in the use of smilies and emoticons. I propose that there needs to be a standard usage across the board.
Who doesn’t know about Gmail? Everyone knows about it! That’s because it is the best webmail. It has loads of features. Almost everything, but recently I found out that it does lack of one thing. And that is emoticons. Yes, Gmail doesn’t have emoticons to be used while composing mails.
But no worries readers. I have found a Greasemonkey script that allows you to use emoticons in your mails. It’s been a while since I last posted about a nice Greasemoneky script. So, here I’m with a very cool script that I’m sure all Gmail users would love to use.
Requirements:
1. Mozilla Firefox (Download here)

Where To Get It?
Now all you have to do is download this Gmail Emoticons Script. Make sure Greasemonkey is installed and enabled before downloading the script. Then restart your Firefox to complete the installation. After restarting, open your Gmail compose mail and see the Emoticons option.

Well, just because even a blogger like me needs an injection of levity as part of his day (to keep sane), I’ve taken extra steps and implemented some fun changes to the comments box. Now you can add quicktag edits with the click of a few buttons instead of having to manually type in code. I’ve wanted that functionality here on the Anvil for a long time and I finally hacked together some code to make it happen.
But beyond that, the levity part comes in, and that’s in the form of smilies: Yeah, those. Standard smilies will automatically be translated into an image, so if you’re familiar with typing those, no sweat. But the custom changes go far beyond that. Near the quicktag buttons above the comments box is now a Smilie button, and by clicking that you will have a whole mess of smilies unfold to choose from in a popup window.

Everyone must have seen many bloggers using too much smilies in there blog posts. Thhis make it look beautiful on a manner a bit messy on another manner. Using one or two smilies on some place makes it good but using too much smilies and having a smiley in every paragraph makes it all messy.
It sucks when anyone is reading your blog feeds and is feed up of those useless smilies loading and eating up his bandwidth and also is a great heck when your feed is been readen offline, we should try the best to provide maximum service and satisfaction to our readers. It should be a try to minimize using smilies in whatever manner you can because it will be really helpful for you.

I can now add either Yahoo or MSN IM smilies to WordPress blogs. It will work for both posts and comments. And yes, they are clickable in the comments. Also, I will eventually be moving this blog over to WordPress. I have already moved my main blog and my photoblog will be moved as well. I do not like the way Blogger is headed, forcing the Beta on people. At this point in time, the beta version is very limited in what you can do to customize. I will continue to make custom Blogger templates as long as people want them & can use them for the original version, but I will not be making templates for the Beta format.Have a great Thanksgiving!
