Being a fan of european exploitation films I’ve always had an admiration for trash auteur Joe D’Amato. Love him or hate him, Joe has an amazing way of painting the world as a disgusting depraved universe where everybody is a twisted sociopath. D’Amato’ s work includes the more important films in the Emanuelle [...]

A smile can be incredibly infectious and powerful. Wearing a warm smile can draw people to you, affect other people's mood, put them at ease, and even cheer them up. But not just any smile will do, you know, there are false and contempt smiles too and you don't wanna encounter people who wears them, right?Do you smile often? If not, what's the one thing that hinders you from smiling?Sad thoughts? Angst? Or is it because your teeth are stained, disfigured, warped and gapped? If you're one of the many people who's ashamed of smiling and it has caused you to feel like an outsider in this world, you can do something about it! You can visit a cosmetic dentist who can help you stop feeling ashamed and awkward as you begin to shine and sparkle even more than those around you!If you live Beverly H

With six months off of agility class, I'd forgotten how much Dax loves it. We're still in Beginner's class, because I didn't know how much she (or I) would remember, but she's doing great! She loves the teeter, she's a weaving fiend, and jumping is a joy! If we can get the A-frame, we'll be all set. I'm trepidatious (if that's a word) about it, so I'm sure it's rubbing off on Dax. We just have to make sure she gets up a good head of steam on the approach. Like all Frenchies, Dax is top-heavy. But I think she can, I think she can, I think she can.... I've discovered that when she gets a bit nervous, it helps if I laugh! She loves laughter - her whole demeanor changes, her adorable Frenchie butt wiggles, those enormous ears rise back up, and she laughs right back. I know that I'm anthropomor
image by Lynne LancasterOne of our teachers used to tell us in school days that he married his wife because of her smile. He further had added that smile can do anything. I couldn't believe what he said then though I had good smile. But this happened to me as well though not in the same way.I am talking about what happened three years ago. It was Valentine's Day. Though I had many (girl)friends in my school and college as well, I didn't have one special girlfriend then because I was quite shy guy then and was also focused on my study and career building. Let me not tell you here whether I have such girlfriend now or not.I was called by one of my friends to visit his home and we had planned to go theatre on that day. I get there after walking for about an hour on foot alone. When I reached
Thanks for the responses, guys. I'm glad you enjoy reading my posts, even if they're often little more than rambling streams of thought. To Iron Pugilist, sorry I misinterpreted what you were trying to say. I think I just assumed - incorrectly - that your reservations about the e-mail were the same as mine. Please don't let that stop you from commenting - I appreciate your insight into what I write too much to let one misunderstanding get in the way, and even if my response wasn't relevant to what you were trying to get at it did lead me on to what I found to be an interesting tangent. No harm done. Having said that, I'll probably stop posting about The Lad so often. I'm going out for a movie with him tomorrow!! I'm SO excited. I didn't think he had the guts to actually ask me out again; or that my status on gtalk might have turned him off..But I'm going out with him tomorrow! I don't know what to wear! I've nothing to wear! LOL. My clothes in my closet are overflowing and yet I can still say that. The guy that I last dated- i tried to make an effort to look nice everytime we go out, unless my mood's sour. But then again, although that particular person did notice my outfit, yet he didn't care what I wore because to him, I was already beautiful in his eyes. I could still look my worst and it didn't matter at all. It's not about the clothes, it's who you are. Yet, things didn't work out between us.But whatever!! I don't feel lik

Playaway is one of those ideas that made me wonder why it took so long for someone to invent it and, at the same time, incredibly glad that someone did!
So, what are they? Each Playaway is a pre-loaded digital audio player. They’re about half the size of a deck of cards and hold content that ranges from six to 40 hours of play time. They come ready to listen (with batteries, earbuds and a lanyard) and are completely portable. Kind of like a book on CD without the need for a CD player or a library (though they are in lots of libraries!) For us, they’ve become the ultimate in convenience. I’ve always been an audio book lover for car travel but rarely take time to get to the library & borrow them. Now I’ll be ordering my books from Playaway and sharing them after - since the units run off of AAA batteries & can be replaced as needed, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be used and used…and used!
Playaway has a selection of 700
One of my favourite hobbies is to capture shots of Clayton in his candid acts. We went shopping for Christmas items, bathroom essentials and delta faucets and he stopped by to adore the mini water feature outside Hilton Hotel in Singapore. This is one of my favourite pics of his... the smiles of little children can be so contagious and definitely comforting... especially during moments of despair and despondency. No wonder children are a blessing from heaven!

Sony’s intoduced an all new feature in the cybershot DSC - T200. Apart from the usual face detection that detects faces, the new DSC T-200 can detect smiles and takes a picture automatically. To start, just choose the Smile shutter from the scene selection, then press the shutter fully on the subject to be taken. The camera then detects the smiling faces and closes the shutter automatically saving the picture. This way you’ll never miss those smiles you wish you had captured. You can adjust the intensity of smiles of your subject by setting the smile sensitivity levels. A ” high” setting would detect a faint smile while a “low” setting would capture a laugh. You could manually choose your smiling subject by clicking the face on the touchscreen or let the camera do it for you. The smile shutter works with both horizontal and vertical formats and works with multiples subjects within a frame. Check the out the specs and images after the jump. (more&hel
Here's what I learnt reccently; going to Thailand can be considered exotic to some people. It may be true in some sense, I mean I'm sure the land has alot to show of its exotism, just that Bangkok was a little....well, less than expected. When we first touched down, I'd expected warm friendly smiles greeting us at the airport. What we received was however, a rather hostile custom check. I couldn't help but wonder was that a repercussion of a political tension between Singapore and Thailand. You know, i get sensitive about these things. If you really hate someone to the extend of burning their national flag, could you possibly put behind that animosity easily even if it's a year ago. Anyway, throughout the trip I became wary not to reveal our national status. That aside, Bangkok can be a lovely place with beautiful people. I enjoy the cheap taxis rides amidst the heavy traffic jam. Now, we all know how infamous traffic in Bangkok can be. The jam is really something you wouldn't wa
Cast your mind back 25 years… and you’ll see a world where the Internet was barely imagined, spam was a tinned meat product and the 87 million people who use email every day were, you know, talking to each other.
Back in 1982, a small group of geeks were wondering how to inject some emotion into their online communications. To solve their problem, Scott Fahlman, a professor at Carnegie Mellon’s School of Computer Science, created emoticons. Staring at the keyboard sideways, he smiled to himself. Then he typed his smile :-)
Within days, the smiley face was sweeping the ARPAnet (the Internet’s precursor) and other emoticons were being created, allowing geeks to show:
Laughter :D
Flirtation ;)
Teasing :P
Frowns :(
Confusion :
Surprise :O
Today… there are countless emoticons that allow us to add some feeling to our emails, instant messages, blog and forum posts, and even to text messages on our mobile phones. As Fahlman says, it’s hard to convey mea
For some odd reason I must've missed this one over the course of this last weekend, but Cave has launched the official Deathsmiles website. Unfortunately the only link that seems to be active at this time is the link to the characters page featuring the two lead characters of the game and their familiars (an owl and a bat). Not much to get excited about yet, however Cave is usually pretty good about updating their websites once the game takes its spots in arcades across Japan. I'm sure in the next couple of weeks there should be plenty of screenshots and videos of the game in action for fans, so I would recommend bookmarking it if you enjoy the genre.
It could be all the plaids he's been wearing lately or being 20. But whatever it is, I want Zac to keep doing it. Because Boyfriend has been showing his pearly whites to the paparazzi a lot more lately.
I like to think that he's finally seeing the fact that as long as he's Hollyweird's "It" boy, he'll be followed around. Therefore, there's no sense in fighting it. Could be too that the papz have
ExGoku on YouTube has posted two new videos of the recently released Cave shooter Death Smiles. Quality is a bit garish, but that's simply an unfortunate side effect of YouTube's compression program. One of my colleague/friend from Prague, visited us for dinner yesterday, and I had to prepare something which is mild, with less spices, as suitable to his taste buds! Then the dish which came into mind was Butter Chicken... it is so mild and tasty at the same time. One advantage in this recipe is that, it can be made as mild or as spicy as one wishes without altering the actual taste. This dish is among the best known Indian foods all over the world.Butter Chicken/Chicken MakhaniI have adapted this recipe from chef Sanjeev Kapoor's popular food show "Khana Khazana" on Zee TV :) From the time I was little young, I used to sit in front of TV, by the time the program starts, with a pen and paper and note down the ingredients and method carefully :) I really like the way he makes the show and recipes interesting!!Ingredients:Chicken, boneless: 800 gmsKashmiri red chilli powder: 1 tsp, adjust accordinglyLemon juice: 1 tbspSalt: to tasteFor Makhani gravyGinger Garlic paste: 1 TbspGreen chill

Matthew has now been with us for seven weeks, and while that time has flown past so quickly we almost don't realise how long its been, its also difficult to remember or imagine life before having him with us.He is certainly growing fast. He might be just above average weight for his age, but last week he hit the 98th percentile for height. He's currently as tall as an an 'average' baby twice his age!Apart from being lanky like his dad he also started smiling a couple of weeks ago and is now more interested in things going on around him. Taking photos of a baby that has just started smiling with a massive SLR is tricky as they mostly react only to another smiling face, and the camera tends to cover that up (a small P&S that is also able to shoot video has been ordered from eBay and is in the post). However, here are a couple I managed to capture last weekend. Nikon D200, Sigma 30mm f/1.41/30sec, f/2.8

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens at a gas station in Burbank, Calf. on Saturday. The couple, who seem to be together and strong despite much chatter to the contrary, were spotted out taking a cruise in Zac’s new Audi A6. Has Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron still together? Don’t be fooled! This public appearance was done by the publicists.Rumors abound about "High School Musical" stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens splitting up their cutsie-pie little romance, especially after photos of Hudgens showed up on the Internet. Sure, he has to play supportive boyfriend for a while, but now OK! magazine says the requisite hand-holding has ended, and the couple have split. But friends believe they'll get back together. And who says it's Zac who's upset? Could it be that Vanessa is getting tired of his makeup all over her pillow? Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens Photo Gallery Here
Why is time standing still, yet still disappearing before me? It is the weirdest sensation. Seriously. I can hardly wait to hear if J got the job in Halifax. It could be weeks before we know anything. ugh. Yet I am trying to get some things done and time is GONE. GONE. ugh.
I feel like the more I attempt to get organized the more unorganized I become. How is that possible?

I mentioned I was knitting. Well there are a few projects that are still in the works, but tonight I finished a cute Market Bag. I posted some knit ramblings on my knitting blog for those who care to wander over there.

The Boomtown Rats were an Irish rock band that scored a series of British hits between 1977 and 1980, and were led by singer Bob Geldof, who organized the Ethiopian relief efforts Band Aid and Live Aid.The Rats were formed in Dun Laoghaire, near Dublin, Ireland, in 1975 by Geldof (born Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof, October 5, 1954, Dun Laoghaire, Ireland), a former journalist; Johnnie Fingers (keyboards); Gerry Cott (guitar); Garry Roberts (guitar); Pete Briquette (bass); and Simon Crowe (drums). They took their name from Woody Guthrie's novel Bound for Glory. The group moved to London in October 1976, and became associated with the punk rock movement. Signing to Ensign Records, they released their debut single, "Lookin' After No. 1," in August 1977. It was the first of nine straight singles to make the U.K. Top 40.Their debut album, The Boomtown Rats, was released in September 1977, on Ensign in the U.K. and on Mercury in the U.S. Their second album, Tonic for the Troops, appeared
Ko TaoAfter five glorious days in Ko Samui, we left our little home and headed for the ferry to Ko Tao. It is the smallest of the three islands in the Gulf of Thailand.uh, ko tao... on the map...It is a mere 21 KM squared (sorry can't find the little sign...) and is about 70 KM off the mainland, but could be in the middle of the ocean for how "undeveloped" it is. Koh Tao means Turtle Island, so named for all the turtles that used to breed there. It became famous in 1899 when King Rama V visited and engraved his monogram on a rock at Jor Por Ror Bay near Sairee beach.King Rama V rock. From 1944 to 1947 the island was used as a political prison. The prisoners were all pardoned and the island was abandoned. A few years later a couple of brothers settled their families on the island and became the first real residents.Ko Tao has only become a tourist destination in the last 10-15 years, which makes it much less developed than its neighbours, Ko Phangan and Ko Samui. Most people go to Tao f
With the JAMMA Amusement show only a couple of weeks away, developer created internet sites have been popping up as a way to create hype for games that the amusement companies are planning on showcasing in September. Cave is just one of the latest companies to follow this trend as they have provided a website (which can be found here) that outlines their plans for the show. Though the only game planned by the company is no surprise, it does have a new name and some additional information for shooter fans. The rumored Death Lolita, which was revealed a bit ago when it was included on a flyer with the Mushihimesama Futari soundtrack, has now been officially named "Death Smiles". Cave will be featuring a playable version of the game for attendees at the amusement show September 13th - 15th at the AMI booth. Character designer Junya Inoue (Joker Jun) known for his works on ESP Ra.De. and Guwange is once again working with Cave to deliver the basic character designs for the new game.
Elephants and a WaterfallOur third day on Koh Samui we took a half day trip to go visit Namuang Waterfall (the second biggest on the island) and go for an elephant trek in the jungle. We had organized the trip through a local travel agent and so, we were picked up at our hotel at around 9:30 AM. It took about half an hour to drive to the elephant trekking. There was a baby elephant - Tongkul - right at the entrance - he's so cute! We proceeded to the elephant station, which is an elevated platform where you climb onto the elephant. The first thing that surprised me was that I actually had to step on it's back to get into the seat. Now, I should have expected that, I mean, how else do you get on an elephant? But it immediately made me ask the question I hadn't thought of before - is this humane? I still don't have an answer. So we sat in our seat on top of this massive 45 year-old male elephant named Sankom, and his trainer sat on his shoulders. We were off. I hope that doesn't sound
Well AR its my vacation time.... I am so blessed to be able to go on vacation this year. The sales are not what I had hoped or set goals for but I have an opportunity to take a vacation and I have surrender to the temptation --- well in a way I have. I have decided that as long as it can be a working vacation... I can do it. I know! I know! You gotta be creative to pull it off.Well, first let me say that I am not going to the Bahamas, Jamacia, Mexico, Hawaii, Florida and no cruise is on the schedule of places to go. I'll just say its because of weather so that you won't think that I am whinning... But let me just say that if I had reached my "mid-year" goals I could possibly have gone elsewhere. This market meltdown has caused some change of plans at least in my household it has. And should it start to pick up I don't plan on being somewhere laying in the sun and not having my laptop on and doing something t
Koh Samui - Lamai BeachWe left Bangkok early in the morning. It was raining. The flight is an hour from Bangkok to Surat Thani, which is in the middle of the country. We were headed to Koh Samui, which is Thailand's second largest island.I hope this picture is self explanatory!Bye bye Bangkok! After arriving in Surat Thani we had to take a bus from the airport to the ferry - this took about an hour and a half (it was included in our ferry ticket). We boarded the ferry, which another hour and a half to get to the island. We had decided on the airplane that we'd go to Lamai Beach on Samui. It is the second largest beach on the island - the first is Chaweng. We didn't go to the biggest one because Lamai was described as being quieter and more relaxing but still a really nice beach.A songathaew full of locals... Me on the first of many songtaew rides. When we got off the ferry we caught a songathaew (pr songtaw) to Lamai. We weren't sure where to get off so we asked the driver to tell us
Olympus' FE-Series of shooters detect smiles, not snarkOlympus is in a tizzy this morning with four new shooters from their FE-series of compact digital cameras. The 12 megapixel (1/1.72-inch CCD) FE-300 is the big pixel-huntin' dog of the bunch packing a TruePic III image processor, 17 scene modes, xD expansion, and 2.5-inch LCD in a 22.1-mm thick package. Next up is the 7.1 megapixel (1/2.5-inch CCD) FE-290 which lacks the face detection of the FE-300 but squeezes in a 3-inch LCD and 4x wide angle optical zoom lens. The FE-280 then, crams 8 megapixels into a 1/2.35-inch CCD and super slim 19.1-mm body. Ammusingly, it features a 'Smile Shot' mode which automatically tracks faces and then throws the shutter when your subject smiles, or grimaces presumably, when snuggled up with aunt vinegar. Bringing up the tail-end is the ho hum 7.1 megapixel FE-270. Look for 'em all to ship starting September.Gallery: Olympus' FE-Series of shooters detect smiles, not snark.(Via Engadget.)
The Floating Market, Tiger Temple, and Bridge over the River KwaiWe had both read and heard about the The Tiger Temple (real name Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampannoin) Kanchanaburi (about two hours out of Bangkok) and it was something that we both really wanted to do. In fact, if there was one thing I wanted to do in Thailand, (other than sit on a beach) it was to visit this incredible animal sanctuary. We bought a day trip package from a travel agent near Khao San Road for 600 baht each. A pretty good deal considering the rip-off artist the night before tried to sell the same thing to us for 1700! The trip was going to take us to the floating market, the bridge over the River Kwai (known as the Death Bridge), and the Tiger Temple. We got picked up from our hotel at around 8:30 and boarded a mini bus with eight other tourists. Some of the them were on half day tours to the floating market only, but there were 60 of us in all, (ten mini vans) with only one tour guide. After a two hour drive
The Grand Palace and Wat Po - Bangkok, part twoAfter fruitlessly seeking out the TAT we decided that the afternoon would be well spent checking out some cultural/touristy things in Bangkok. The major attraction being, of course, the Grand Palace - where the King and Queen live.So we headed there in early afternoon - on foot - it's about a 20 minute walk from Khao San Road.Inside the entrance at the Grand Palace - the Upper Terrace in the backgroundThe Grand Palace was built in 1782 by King Rama I. It houses the throne halls, government offices and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (closed for renovations while we were there). One of the main attractions is the Upper Terrace where four monuments are found; a reliquary in the shape of a golden chedi; the mondop - a repository for Buddhist sacred scriptures; a miniature model of Angkor Wat (in Cambodia); and the Royal Pantheon where statues of former Kings are enshrined. The reliquary on the Upper TerraceAngkor Wat modelA statue guarding th
Bangkok - part oneI flew out of Seoul, Incheon International Airport on Sunday August 5th. I spent the previous day wandering around Seoul and bought my new camera at the electronics market. It's a Canon EOS 20D - and i love it. It was really great to hold a "real" camera in my hands again. I shot around 2000 photos in two weeks with it! And there are thousands more to come, I'm sure.Anyway, I flew with Thai Air - which was lovely. I lucked out on my flight there when the two people sitting next to me changed seats after take-off to be closer to the TV - so I had three seats to myself to lie down and lounge on! It was the next best thing to being in business or first class! The food was really good, the service was decent, (the only thing I would say wasn't prefect actually) the seats were comfortable, and i got to use the business class bathroom since i was so close to the front of the plane - the furthest forward I've ever been actually (not on the wing like usual). My lunch on Th
As anyone who has ever taken pictures of kids for family portraits will know, getting children to smile for the camera can prove to be an uphill struggle, but a chap by the name of Federico Sartorio has come up with an ingenious, low-tech solution to the problem using just a PEZ sweet dispenser.
The idea is brilliant in its simplicity, and involves cutting down the base of the PEZ dispenser so as to enable it to be slid into your camera’s hot-shoe and, apparently, it works like a dream.
You can find details of the PEZ hot-shoe camera attachment over at Nikon forum at Photo.net.

One of my favorite things is to go out in public here in Thailand. Everywhere you turn, you will see beautiful Thai people with big smiles. I often wonder why we smile, when most of our lives are very simple and humble compared to the rest of the world. I then realize that our simple lives and culture are what makes us smile. Being outside the mainstream alows us to really enjoy life and accept everyone for who they are and not for what they have.Check out Feeds and RSS from other Thaidarling blogs and sites
A court in Indonesia has convicted and sentenced to death a 41-year-old mechanic for his part in the bombing of two nightclubs in the island resort of Bali last year. Amrozi bin Nurhasyim is the first to stand trial for the bombs, which ripped through the crowded nightclub area in the island's Kuta district. He grinned broadly as the judge read out the guilty verdict, and then punched the air and turned around to give the thumbs-up sign to the courtroom as he was handed his death sentence.Indonesia News Blog: http://indosnesos.blogspot.com

Friday again, marking the end of another week and giving me the opportunity to have some fun because Friday's are for fun.
The picture is of my dog daisy. I took it with my phone a couple of days ago. She is a beagle, with papers even, of course she doesn't know it which is a good thing. If she did she would find the papers and chew them up, leaving me to clean up the mess.
She got her name because one of the first things she did when she arrived at our home two years ago was try and eat some flowers I had in a flower box.
She has had special training and attended obedience school with my husband. They passed with flying colors which I don't get because my husband is still not at all obedient. She has also had some advanced good citizen training, and is a candidate for search and rescue school.
Daisy loves to go for a walk, almost as much as she loves chewing on my sandals, or stealing credit cards and ot

We had a pretty nice day yesterday! We went down to one of the shopping centers here that we like to shop at. This year, they’ve added a ton of new stores and stuff, and they have one of those awesome fountains that shoots water out of the ground for kids to play in. We wandered down to check it out - I didn’t want the kids getting in it, since they were fully dressed and all, but they still really liked checking it out. And Pablo was tripping out over these outdoor speakers - he kept kneeling down to see what they were, then standing up and dancing to the music. So cute!!
After we did our wandering, we headed across the parking lot to Sam’s Club and bought diapers and stuff. The kids wanted lunch, so we ate there, too. And - I asked Pablo a question and he answered me, without me prompting him what the answer was, and him repeating it back, which is usually what happens. I asked the kids if they wanted pizz

This is called a water lily Dahlia over here. The right name is Dahlia x Hortensis “Twilight Time”, cult. Mexico, Asteraceae. I’ve never seen any one like it, it was very big too, which doesn’t show on the picture.
I think my Mom would have loved it, but unfortunately she can’t come out and see it any more. This garden where this is taken, Bergianska, is too far away from her bed and she has too bad vision nowadays.
The reason for me saying this is that it’s Mothers Day over here in Sweden today, so we’re going over there to celebrate.
“What the sunshine is for the flowers, the smile is for the humans”.
That saying reminds me of my mother very much, because despite the fact of her very difficult life and situation, she always have her wonderful laugh - or giggle, which I admire her tremendously for.
Happy Mothers Day :-D

DJIBOUTI CITY, Djibouti, May 17, 2007 — An Army general and personnel from Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa visited a local baby orphanage and hospital in Djibouti City, May 5, 2007, to donate 28 boxes of baby clothes and hospital equipment.
At the orphanage, Army Brig. Gen. Keith Thurgood, 337th Theater Support Command deputy commanding general, and the other military personnel held, fed and played with the 50 babies who live there.
The babies enjoy the attention, the nurses appreciate the help, and the HOA personnel enjoy being able to provide some tender loving care to even the littlest people of Djibouti.
“This is a great opportunity for us to take a break from our daily commitments and give a little bit of ourselves to the babie

My house is this: we face the bush, we have no curtains. The side of our house that faces the bush is wall-to-wall glass. And so the tale begins..:
Originally the sun was an issue. The sun comes straight into all our rooms and when we first moved in (about four years ago) it was summer and I was being woken at 5.30 - 6.30 AM every morning. I’ve built up a tolerance to the sunlight and can now sleep in front of very large flood lights (although I try not to too often as it gets rather hot). The sun is no longer an issue.
Now it’s privacy. I had an awkward stare-off with a gardener once who was coming to rip out some trees. He was just trotting past my window at about 9.45 AM and casually glanced in to my room - as you do. Meanwhile there’s me in my undies pulling on some jeans getting ready for my 10 AM shift. We both paused, tilted our heads, and went our seperate ways both feeling rather confused and embarassed.
This morning I wake up to face the pool man who is abou
