If your computer is running slowly, the way it used to, freezing or blocking, chances are it is a problem with the Registry. After a new piece of hardware or software is installed on Windows, it stores its configuration in the registry, Windows to obtain this information later. In simple terms, your computer will not work without the Registry.Unfortunately, this registry can be easily corrupted wi
My computer is killing, if not, torturing me real damn slowly. Urgghh, can't you just imagine how I'm supposed to draw my graphics on the photoshop and at the same time looking up on tutorials about how you could make a picture looked old? It just utterly slow. Well, can't really blame anyone though, since my computer is bought in what year, 2000, or 2001 or something. It's quite a good companion
During these past few months I’ve spent a lot of time building a garden and working around the house. But, slowly progressing behind the scenes I am working on some made up seascapes. In the last post, I mentioned a read about Green Environmentalist Gore's through-the-roof hydro bills. To be honest, I do not think Gore cares a penny about the Mother Nature, the effects of so called global warming, greenhouse effects, etc. More likely, Gore is on a mission in one of those crooked big-scale schemes that at the end of the day screw a lot of people, businesses, and countries and
Nothing can be more annoying than a slow running, freezing computer. It wastes your valuable time waiting for it to get going. It is aggravating and something you just do not have to tolerate. When the computer was newer it was not like that. It was a pleasure to use when it ran fast and smoothly. What can be wrong now? Most likely your registry is bloated and overstuffed with an assortment of useles

On April 30, 2007, I wrote an article on Web 2.0. The web has evolved so much that it is an indispensable part of our life, and we don't use the web the same way it used to be. Professional Internet users, such as bloggers, or any others who depend on the Web for a living, use the Internet differently than average users. I thought it would be helpful for my readers to know how a professional, su

``The second event, if you will, was really the more than noticeable beginning of the US macro economic downturn currently in progress. At least in hindsight, this now coincides exactly with the beginning of foreign community loss of confidence in US financial assets as investments. Whether it's due to the underlying character of the asset classes themselves, the integrity of the US financial system in general, the southern trajectory of the US economy in terms of its ability to support these asset classes as investments, or a little bit of all of the above, this loss of confidence is a critical undermining feature of both current and forward support of US financial assets. We really do not know why this has not garnered much more attention in the mainstream financial community. ''
April 26, 2008 Home prices rise more slowly in quiet market Lower-than-forecast 3.7% growth could signal start of decline By Fiona Chan THE property market may have gone quiet, but home prices continued their steady climb in the first three months of this year, albeit at a much weaker pace. Private home prices rose 3.7 per cent between January and March, down from the 6.8 per cent growth in the previous three months. It was also notably lower than the 4.2 per cent rise that had been predicted early this month, based on sales in the first 10 weeks. This suggests prices may have started declining last month, dragging down the whole quarter. 'Price growth is starting to weaken severely and the volume of transactions has halved,' said Mr Chua Yang Liang, Jones Lang LaSalle's head of South-eas

Many Americans have succumbed to the endless offers of easy credit that have been thrust upon us over the last decade. Now we are starting to get that 'morning after' feeling that the easy credit party may not have been such a good idea after all. And we may now face a hangover of huge personal debt problems.

Some interesting pieces from the Province lately, the first being about Kevin Bieksa explaining how and why it's taking time for him to adjust after returning from injury. "I remember talking to Alain [coach Vigneault] and he said: 'It's not the same kind of game when you left.' It's a playoff atmosphere now and guys are intense and are playing for a playoff spot. Maybe that's why it's taking me a little bit longer than usual to kind of get back. It took between five to 10 games where I started feeling a little bit more comfortable and my reads now are where it's second nature to make a bank pass or pick a puck off the boards. I feel pretty good way that way.” Well I hope he adjusts quicker, because the playoffs are coming. I see greatness in him one minute and then buffoonery the next.
As Congress continues to consider the regulatory regime necessary to “permit” the President to engage in national security-based wiretaps, it is important to put the current debates into historical perspective. The canvass upon which the wiretap authority is now being argued is the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a 1978 statute that was a response to litigation that arose during the Watergate era. That litigation, contrary to popular belief, did not reach the question of...(read more)
Since the first time I posted about Hamachi Hamachi about two years ago (before Foodmayhem), I have returned several times, and they have slowly declined in my eyes. They were never amazing but a good bang-for-you-buck kind of place. After a while, the sashimi platters started getting a little sloppy and fish was sometimes tendonous. I would meet with friends for lunch there feeling like it was just ok because they had cheap and filling lunch specials.Today, I ordered-in (because I'm still sick) a Yosenabe. It will likely be my last act of patronage to Hamachi. The decision is long overdue. The soup base was boring, tasting mostly like cabbage. The piece of salmon was fishy. The bland white fish and chicken was skimpy and there was no clam although written in the menu description.I finishe

What the? I hear you scream, don’t tell us Hansard has let the glory go to his red head and ditched Marketa already. Nope, in fact the version you are listening to pre-dates the one that appeared on ‘Once’ by a year (it also appeared on the Swell Season’s album, also from 2006). Makes you wonder how the Academy overlooked the ubiquitous nature of the tune, but I guess that is history now and even Glen’s most ardent detractors must have been choking back the tears as he and his partner accepted the golden one. This version of ‘Falling Slowly’ certainly suffers by Marketa Irglova's absence and its generally noisier existence makes you hanker for the delicate reworking. Also included here is the live version of ‘Lay Me Down’ (originally recorded for the majestic ‘For The B

Most of the time, when our computers are running slowly, it's because of all the things we have running in the background. Computer manufacturers seem to delight in loading up computers with 10 to 12 programs that run automatically and put littleicons in the Windows Status Bar.One would hope that these programs didn't interfere with our other computeractivities. But, all too often, that is not the case. So, how can you get them under control? There are a number of tools that will let you control programs that startautomatically — if you can figure out which ones you don't need...For example, if you use Microsoft XP's built-in "msconfig.exe," you can stop manyprograms from starting automatically. No, what I'm referring to is those little life lessons that we sometimes have to have a do-over on. No, I'm not speaking about becoming insanely rich. That would take a while longer.I'm talking about my dream of a small and light computer, that I can take with me everywhere and one that could connect to resources I need (read, Internet) from anywhere in the world. And that's all of course thanks to the EeePC 701 and other similar devices. I wrote a piece on it a couple of months ago, but the subject is still hot and is becoming hotter every day.I just read nice post in NY Times, which describes in funnny humor the way that Asus went. The author says that Asus "didn't get the memo" about how our laptops should be huge, inefficient, expensive and bloated with versions of Windows - and software that vendors like to load on laptops so very much. It should be slow, and its startup time should

The stop hit was something that Bruce Lee endorsed. It is not a technique that is relatively new. I'm sure fighters from thousands of years ago employed this technique on the battlefield, be it with a kick, punch, push etc. It must have been used as it is very effective in defending oncoming blows. So why is it slowly dying out?
Firstly it is necessary to explain the stop hit. As your opponent throws a strike or kick, the moment the technique is performed, you stop hit by throwing a technique of your own and making it land at your intending target while your opponent is still halfway through his technique. A perfect example of the stop hit can be seen in Bruce Lee's Way of the Dragon. As he fights towards the end of the film with Bob Wall, his opponent initiates a kick with his back leg, and Bruce quickly performs a front leg side kick hitting just as his opponents foot leaves the floor. The stop hit is something that is not usually expected but can be very surprising when success
This morning, I was late to work again!! Luckily the school holiday had already started and the traffic was quite smooth. I was on the fast lane, don't worry, i'm not driving that fast lar. Reports Suggest Broader Losses From MortgagesNYT - 10/25/07 snips:Every time economists and Wall Street executives think they have acknowledged the full extent of the losses from the meltdown in real estate mortgages, more bad news turns up... The loss in total real estate wealth is expected to range from $2 trillion to $4 trillion, depending on how far home prices fall, according to several economists... Experts caution that these estimates are preliminary and the total costs could get bigger still. They also note that the loss of real estate wealth could prove more damaging for the general public than falling stock values because more American families own homes than own stock... Of course, many people who bought their houses several years ago are still ahead financially... Those who bought close to the peak stand to lose the most if they have to sell in the near future... In a new report to be issued today, the Joint Economic Committee of Congress predicts about 2 million foreclosur
I recently got one of those mailers that are basically a get rich quick booklet. This one was probably 50 pages or so, by a gentleman named Russ Dalbey, and was very insistent that I could get into the ‘cash flow note’ business. From what I could pick out of the sales pitch, it looks like a training get to teach you to go find people who are holding notes from owner financing. You then convince them to sell their note, list it on a local ‘note market’ and collect a ‘finders fee’. Slightly different twist on an old story.
It appears that this little program is not terribly well received.
What I want to know is where are the ‘get rich complicated’ or ‘advanced ways to build wealth’ books? I feel like I understand the basics of Financial markets, Real Estate, and Banking, and have an average understanding of insurance products. However, it seems difficult to find any information related to advanced topics in these fields that ar

Miss Angst had her first day back to school yesterday. To those who may have missed earlier posts she and a friend had run away from home on Monday morning last week and were missing for 52 hours before being found, in the woods, by local police who had been searching high and low for them for two days.
I worried myself sick between Sunday night and Monday. I imagined all kinds of horrible things being said to her. I pictured whispers behind her back and snickers just out of sight. I prepared myself (and tried to prepare her as well) for taunts and teasings.
And nothing happened.
Really ….. nothing happened.
She had a truly good first day back at school.
She was warmly greeted by staff and students alike. Friends, associates, and even the dreaded “populars” all told her that she was missed or that they had worried about her. Everyone welcomed her back.
She has a week’s worth of work to make up but the teachers are being patient with her.

By: Jon Norwood Global Warming as most know is a phenomenon that is changing the climate of the Earth slowly and dramatically. One of the primary causes is carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere which helps trap heat that the earth would normally release. The trapped heat builds up over time and causes climate shifts across the globe. These shifts in general mean that warmer climates can cool down, and cooler climates may warm up. When the coldest areas on earth such as the North and South Poles warm up, the ice in these areas begins to melt. The result is an enormous amount of new water in the Earth’s oceans, and the coastal regions will end up submerged. Computers have been a growing part in the Global warming problem.Coal pits, air conditioners, cars and factories are all obvious culprits in the Global Warming issue. Computers however have gone for the most part unnoticed by many who are concerned by the environment. A PC draws between 200 and 700 watts when left on. Compared
It was a relaxing and sorry we left y'all hangin, I got a handful of emails asking for new posts! Saxophones, synths, handclaps with harmonies and harpischord, display a good span of sound ranging from acoustic to catchy melodies worthy of 60s, 70s 4/4 rock beat ballads."Fill Up The Room" is the 4th album out from K Records and will be available for your listening ears on Oct. 23! but you can pre-order now! SLGTM will be going around for an awesome tour so be sure to catch them and for the LA folks, The Echo, Nov. 10th/6pm/$10. By the way, these songs make way good for tra
Blog Rush has continued to suffer from a bad case of ‘gremlins’ in their system ever since they launched about a week ago. Regardless of their apparent growing pains, they at least have one extremely enviable trait. They communicate with their members and are big enough to admit when mistakes are made. Furthermore, they explain (sometimes ad nauseum) what their mistakes were and how they are doing to remedy these glitches.
As a member of this Blog Rush community, I am eagerly awaiting a seamless system that will deliver additional traffic to my blogs. Time will tell if they will be able to pull off this rather promising endeavor. I am attaching their latest communique for those of you that have not yet joined Blog Rush.

Can you believe this ? My hubby and I didn't spend any money on shopping this time....;D I think this is a great leap for us, especially my hubby whose shopping addiction is more serious.
I believe that it takes time to truly curb the spending habit. Trying to do away the habit as fast as possible will only bring counter-productive effect. My hubby shared with me just now that he could handle

The Chicago Bears are thinking that 2nd year player Devin Hester is going to be able to make a swift transition from defensive back to wide out, and things have been so far so good. Until now. Hester has been on the sidelines for the last two days for the Bears, watching practice from the sidelines with a right hamstring injury. At first head coach Lovie Smith didn’t seem all that concerned about it, but now over 48 hours with no Hester seems to have the head coach a little worried. “It’s a concern the first day he missed,” Smith said. “But beyond that, that’s how training camp goes, especially with skill guys. You look across the league, just about every team has a guy who is dealing with some things like that. When they get a little sore, you let them sit out for a while.”
A hamstring injury is a frustrating thing for a player to go through. It can stop the most explosive players, like Hester, whose ability to return kicks and intercept

Chicago Symphony bassist, blogger, and Contrabass Conversations guest Michael Hovnanian wrote a post recently about the Chicago Symphony's ever shrinking summer season at the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois:Ravinia seasons used to be 8 weeks. Recently they have been shorter due in part, or maybe completely, to the fact that the current leadership there seems intent on squeezing us out. There has been all sort of talk about the 17 year cicadas and other excuses why the CSO is playing less and less at Ravinia, but it basically boils down to an acrimonious relationship between the two organizations.Read the rest of Michael's post here, which also includes a list of the majority of the CSO's summer Ravinia repertoire.Related Posts:Bernard Haitink - CSO Bass Blog postStuff in Michael Hovnanian's bass studioTime off - CSO Bass Blog post'Trout' fingerings - CSO Bass BlogOn An Overgrown Path features CSO Bass Blogsubscribe to the blog - subscribe to the podcast

What benefits will you reap from playing slowly? Surprisingly enough you might become a faster guitar player and more important, you will become a better musician and guitarist!
How is this possible?
Life is full of surprises. Many people have experienced that they somehow have run away from life by hurrying all the time. Well, what has this to do with you as a guitarist!
First of all I would like to state that from personal experience I have found that many guitarists practice scales and licks faster than they should.
What do I mean with that?
Our present technical skill as a guitar player sets a limit as to how fast we can play scales and licks without doing damage to ourselves in various ways. What can happen if you play too fast?
Here is a list of things that can happen when you practice scales and other exercices or solos too fast:
1. If you play guitar in a speed that is above your technical skill level you will probably build up tensions in the muscles
I installed an ‘e-mail’ plugin on my blog just now. Its suppose to put a little envelope icon next to my comments link for each post, but it doesn’t!
I’m kinda doing this post to see if it only works on new posts, and if it doesn’t, can anyone help? There is an e-mail address in the readme file, so I will e-mail that eventually if I can’t figure it out.

We are all aware that the condition of the world today has become fragile. The usually healthy world that we all know as earth has slowly become a ticking bomb that may explode and kill us all at any time we least expect it. The causes for this kind of a condition are evident. Humans have concentrated more towards keeping themselves healthy and satisfied with what they have. Unfortunately, we have forgotten the fact that we have to consider the state of our world before it leads to an unwanted flat line.

I first read Bang the Drum Slowly as a high school student and it stayed on my mind for several days after I finished it. In fact, it had such an impact on the way that I saw life that I was more than a little reluctant to read it again, fearing that my fond memories of the book would be spoiled. That kind of thing has happened to me several times in the past, but not this time. Bang the Drum

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - The latest real estate forecast shows home prices continuing to rise in Vancouver over the next five years. The report by Genworth Financial Canada says new home prices will increase seven per cent this year and then climb 4.3 per cent each year through 2011.
With a strong economy and low unemployment for a backdrop, even with tremendous pressure on pricing, values are barely dropping because Sellers are reluctant to drop their prices. Sure, there has been some give in values, but it is based upon price range and area. For the most part, higher price ranges have been more immune to the fallout of the subprime mess that reared its ugly head at the beginning of March. Lower price ranges, areas with lower average incomes and areas saturated with condominiums have been hit harder due to the subprime effect. These areas had a higher percentage of subprime loans originated over the past several years. For example, condominiums between $250,000 and $500,000 are currently experiencing a 9.48 month market, extremely slow. That range accounts for 55% of the entire condominium active listing inventory. There are also some pockets within the market that are saturated with listings where too many similar properties are on the market at t
