Sometimes the best writing comes when we're slow, dreamy, not thinking about accomplishing anything. Does this happen to you? Inflation may be eating into consumers’ wallets, but domestic retailers are not giving up just yet. Retail rentals are showing signs of fatigue after soaring multi-fold until recently. A slowing economy, hardened home loan rates and liquidity crunch indicate rental rates will soon fall in a manageable range. As of now, rentals have dropped by 5-10 % and are set to see a further fall of 15-20 % i

By Viorel Urma, AP Business Writer 2008: Global Economy to Grow at a Slower Pace, Beset by Credit Crisis and High Oil Prices NEW YORK (AP) -- The world economy, buffeted by the credit crisis gripping financial markets, is expected to keep expanding in 2008 -- albeit at a slower pace -- with little fear of recession. But unlike past economic upswings driven by the U.S., Japan and Western Europe, the main engines of growth this time are predicted to be China, India and other emerging economies. In its latest World Economic Outlook, the International Monetary Fund projected that global economy would grow by 5.2 percent this year and moderate to 4.8 percent in 2008, compared with last year's 5.4 percent growth. The 2008 forecast was downgraded by nearly one-half percentage point from the summer outlook, reflecting the turbulent conditions in financial markets."Risks to the outlook, however, are firmly on the downside, centered around the concern that financial market strains could deepen
by Marshall LoebDo you give yourself free rein when it comes to holiday spending? Have you forgotten the founding fathers' stern visages because you charge everything to your credit card? With the U.S. economy showing signs of slowing and consumer spending skipping behind inflation, it's a good time to reevaluate spending habits and brace for some budgeting. If you are confused about how to prepare for a likely recession, Paul McClatchy, vice president of financial planning at wealth-planning technology firm eMoney Advisor, has these five tips to offer:Regardless of what the market does, everyone needs an emergency fund. If you don't already have one, set one up with enough money in it that could tide you over for at least three months in case you lose your job, become disabled or have an unexpected urgent expense. If there is only one income earner in your family, you would be wise to stash enough to last you at least six months. Carefully review your budget and see what can b
It is sad, but true. Our sweet girl Angel who we adopted in March of 2002 is really slowing down. We didn’t know how old she was then, and we still don’t know how old she is now. For a while we were guessing she was about 8, and for many years she seemed to just stay 8, so I was hoping she would just always be 8 forever. But now that is not going to happen.
She is probably about 11 or 12 now, we are thinking. She still plays with Tatum and Chase, but she lays down a lot, is having a harder time going up and down the stairs, and likes to stay out in the cold more. Which is kinda odd.
It doesn’t matter how old she is. She came into our lives skinny and with a broken leg. She is now fat and happy (not really fat lol) and has warm beds to sleep on and fun walks to go on, and she spent many a night in our canvas tent on camping trips. But still.. I hope she has many years left with us.
There can be many reasons for a slowdown of your computer. Programs don’t open as fast as they used to. Internet connection is slow and is driving you crazy. Pop-ups are everywhere and non stop open a new web pages. Your hard drive is buzzing and twittering every time when you open new window.

Last week I embarked upon a new journey, trying to live life without constantly using the “H” word - “H-U-R-R-Y.” Let me tell you, trying to establish this habit is much more difficult than I ever expected it to be.
I definitely wasn’t perfect at banning this word from my vocabulary. Occasionally I would slip up and merely use a creative way of saying hurry when trying to speed the children along, but at least I was constantly reminding myself to slow down and to relax. After all, I don’t particularly want to pass on this frantic paced life to my kids.
During the past week, though, I did make some key observations. Firstly, in order not to be rushed, you must learn to pad your schedule.
U.S. macroeconomical data releases get a little less overoptimistic while the subprime lending crisis takes its toll and the carry trade is uncertain. This is the second week after a major carry trade crisis when the major indicators of carry trade, like GBP/JPY and EUR/JPY, are trading flat without any signs of the future for this type of financial trading. But worser U.S. economical indicators

With the proliferation of new condominium construction in Seattle there have been valid concerns that the condo market would be over developed with 10,000 units proposed over a 5 year span. However, as some industry insiders have mentioned, Seattle builders are taking a more cautious approach to development.
Already, we’ve seen two proposed downtown high-rise condos switch over to commercial office usage. Now, three other proposed condo projects are being developed as apartments: Landes on First Hill, Chloe (corner of 14th & Union) and the Liberty Building (near 2nd & Pike).
A few projects are scaling back on the number of units initially proposed (Stewart & Minor, 2nd & Pike, Art House) while others are being postponed (Martin).
We will still see tremendous growth in Seattle’s condominium inventory over the next decade, especially in the upper end market, though, it is a positive indicator that developers are being prudent with their investment and seemin

Municipal Wi-Fi networks expansion is slowing according to a recent news report in Business Week. The highest profile Wi-Fi project is in San Francisco and it's currently in limbo. Most listed property developers have posted disappointing second-quarter earnings in a sign that consumers have delayed their home-buying decisions amid the economic slowdown and political uncertainty. KC Property's second-quarter net profit slumped almost 74 per cent from Bt43.27 million last year to Bt11.26 million on a 39.56-per-cent decline in sales. After years of strong growth, housing prices in Ireland are showing signs of slowing. Thats the news coming from several sources about what has been one of Europes strongest economies in recent years. This is potentially good news for the international real estate investor looking to get into one of the best markets in the world.
U.K. house prices rose in June at the slowest pace since December as higher interest rates deterred buyers, according to the latest figures. The average cost of a home in England and Wales increased 0.3 percent from May, to £176,100 , matching the rate of increase in December 2006.
A survey conducted by Bloomberg News Survey stated that the Bank of England will raise interest rates on July 5 from the current six-year high, according to 53 out of 60 economists surveyed. If this is so then the housing market will continue to slow down.

The whole world is going to widgets. This overused, overhyped term refers to third-party code one places on their website or blog in order to display such things as Flickr photos, Twitter status, or iTunes playlists. Everybody and their mom is putting out widgets these days, and although only about 1% of them are useful or interesting, they are an important new distribution mechanism that is changing the way companies think about syndication.
But there is a big problem with widgets: they slow down the sites that use them. In the best case, you have a company like Flickr whose servers are almost always snappy, and in the worst case, you have a young startup that is constantly struggling against increasing demand and occasionally can’t serve up any code at all.
The problem is that in either of these cases, the completion of your site’s loading and rendering depends on someone else’s code living on someone else’s server. Including a fast and reliable Flickr widget
Sunday morning I picked up my newspaper and one thing instantly stood out. The coupon sections where excellent. The P&G (PG) stand alone coupons were for amounts I have not seen before. There were coupons there for $3 off Pampers, $4 off a razor, salad dressing coupons that were usually 50 cents off are up to $1 to $2 off now.
This matters because these discounts are for everyday items, not "father's day" special sales event items. When you are a consumer products company like P&G or...

Hubby added memory to his HP Pavilion 304w running XPpro and now it runs fine for a few hours and then slows to a crawl. Rebooting fixes the problem temporarily. We were careful to make sure we had the correct memory for the machine - hubby asked...

Black Eyed Peas - MoreLooks like BEP is slowing making thier return. I think it's great that Fergie has been able to deliever a good album and solo success, but I missed them all together. Though I don't think this will be included in thier new album, it's good to hear some new stuff. This song is set to appear on the new Pepsi campaign's. It's what you'd expect to hear from BEP, nothing to new but still great to hear. check it out!DL: Black Eyed Peas - MoreDL Link 2: HERE(WHAT DID YOU THINK? THANKS R APPRECIATED)
Cell phone sales growth increased by 10% in the first quarter of 2007 over the same quarter in 2006. Still, this healthy 10% growth could not keep up with the previous quarter.IDC has published a new press release showing that so far, 2007 probably won't keep up with the record cell phone sales of 2006 which saw an amazing 20% year-on-year growth in each quarter of that year. The release states, "this reflects IDC's expectations that as more subscribers are added to the network, fewer new subscribers are left to be added".The release also provides the Top 5 Cell Phone vendors in this order:NokiaMotorolaSamsungSony EricssonLG ElectronicsSamsung and Sony Ericsson benefitted from Motorola's missteps by posting a year-on-year growth with Sony Ericsson showing the largest growth. BEIJING: Strong demand means Chinaâ€s property market is unlikely to cool down for the time being, a senior official said on Monday, arguing that moderate price increases were natural.
"I donâ€t think (the real estate market) is very likely to cool down as demand in China remains very strong,†Sun Kefang, director of the construction ministryâ€s Housing Industrialisation
Things are busy.
I am tired.
I am slowing down on the blog for a few days. No break, just slowing down a little bit.
If anything exciting happens, feel free to comment about it.
Due to a 'freak' accident which happened last week, I would be slowing the pace of my entries until I recover (hopefully). The freak accident has left me partially blind in the left eye and according to the specialist treating it, it's going to take at least another couple of weeks before I can gain some semblence of 'normal' vision again. As it is now, looking at the computer screen does take it's toll on the eyes and the splitting headaches as a result are just not worth it.To add to that, I'd be leaving for South Korea in mid-December for a holiday cum business trip. I'd be meeting with a couple of oil traders whom I used to deal with while they were working in Singapore. Both these reasons have contributed to me not joining any autosurfs in the next couple of months, while I try to pull out from those that I'm already in.NSFGIt's been confirmed that the money was indeed taken by the Danish government.
