Sick of all those tiny hairs you keep finding everywhere (and we mean the ones not attached to your body)? We’re talking about loose hairs, the ones that float through the air, settle on the bathroom floor, cling to contrasting colored clothing, fall into food during cooking, and generally disgust and annoy. Do you have a pet? We’re also talking about its hair, which is probably embedded in ev
Oh my Aries ways have caught up with me once again. I was blog, bloggity, blog, blog for a bit there and then I got distracted. I went for a weekend excursion at a good friends home and then fell off of the wagon. In my own defense, I was playing catch up all week. [...]
Kate and I tried to watch Michael Moore’s new film, “Slacker Uprising,” last night. 10 minutes into the film we pressed the turn-off-the-movie-and-go-to-bed button on the remote. It isn’t that we don’t like Michael Moore films, “Fahrenheit 911″ and especially “Sicko” are brilliant and entertaining. It’s just that “Slacker Uprisi
Okay, how different can mom and I be? The other day, I was happily clicking (by clicking I mean blog stalking and/or wishing some people into oblivion)(for what it's worth, my wishes never come true so you have nothing to fear you douche bags that piss me off!)(unless we meet in person, then you better run faster than my little legs can)(sorry, still having crappy times @ Beeland) away while my mo

I watched Michael Moore's latest film Slacker Uprising two nights ago. I don't always like Moore's films; actually it'd be more accurate to say that I rarely love Moore's films. He's been good for documentary films in terms of exposure (though perhaps less so in terms of form), but I always leave feeling clubbed over the head with a message that tends to lack nuance (even if I tend to agree). He gave it away for free like a cheap slut and what great idea. I don’t think a better idea has been cooked up by Michael Moore in a long time. Sure the production values aren’t there. There are no cute radical cartoons, or how-the-hell-did-he-land-that-guest interviews and the video quality leave much to be desired. [...]

Michael Moore has released his new movie for distribution online. Here’s what Mr. Moore has to say about the film and it’s online release:
As you may have heard, I’ve decided to make my new film, “Slacker Uprising,” available for free to everyone in the United States and Canada. It is the first time ever that [...]
Michael Moore, está presentando el trailer de su último trabajo Slacker Uprising, con el que busca motivar a los jovenes norteamericanos a acudir en masa a las urnas.

I have been talking with friends lately and keep getting shocked by how far ahead they are in everything. Last week they were discussing Halloween costumes and now they are talking about Christmas gifts already. I was floored! I thought it was too early to worry about Halloween.I am always a last minute kind of person. It does add to the stress I already experience but I just do not feel like I ev
I washed my kids hair with the hose and a bottle of shampoo that I keep in the garage just for this purpose. (How’s that for white trash, Michelle?)
I forgot to wash Madeline’s leotard for dance class so I threw it in the dryer with a Bounce sheet to freshen it up.
I was running late [...]
Marla feels that her husband Tony’s playing around, so she installs a camera inside her pad, hoping she’ll catch him in the act. And of course, as soon as she’s out the door, Mr. Cheater calls up his extra cunt for a nice round of pussy-play! You can see these fuckheads go like dogs in [...]
What a great way to start the workday: doing nothing. That's right, drop that TPS coversheet, set your phone to DoNotDisturb, and head over to Hulu.com, because right now you can stream the first Ghostbusters movie right in your browser. If you're unfamilliar with Hulu it was started by NBC Universal and News Corp. in an effort to cash in on those watching pirated TV on streaming video websites. I am in a bad cycle of not being able to sleep. And it's catching up to me today in the form of a horrendous headache. Ouch!On another note, if you're interested in reading my short column on coming to terms with post-second child slacking, you can access it on the bottom of page 5 of this month's Evansville Parent.
Come to find out, Father's Day is tomorrow. As in this Sunday. As in, "When did that happen?" Need last minute ideas? I have a great one for you and it is free! Did you catch that last part? It's FREE! The best part is that it will also give ole dad exactly what every man really wants: an ego stroke, a shot of pride, and a little coveted spotlight attention! Sprout, one of the...

I apologize for not posting for 10 days. I guess the blog got a little “out of sight, out of mind”. Work has been a bit crazy and life has been a bit crazy. I promise I will post something of substance in the next day or two.

I was doing my usual daily bloghopping routine when I saw an interesting post about Malu Fernandez hating bloggers.
Malu Fernandez, in her Manila Standard Today column notoriously declared:
“But blogging, aside from Perez Hilton and the other big time bloggers (you know who you are) is for me a slacker job or a medium and [...]
After twelve weeks of posting a Blog of the Week, last week I took a break on account of our vacation. No big deal, right? Good. I'm glad we agree.Well, as a result of coming home on Thursday and dealing with a very sick kid, I've had very little time to even turn on the computer. So, once again, there will be no Blog of the Week this week. Technically I'm still on vacation until tomorrow, so I hope the same excuse is acceptable.Since arriving home from the Magic Kingdom, it's been a mix of relaxation and care giving as I alluded to above. Zane has come down with another double ear infection, accompanied by a sinus infection and conjunctivitis. Yeah, he's a mess. Some of this may have been a result of our trip, including flying to our destination in a germ tube. I often get sick after flyi
After a jam packed year of blogging and podcasting, I’ve been taking things a little slow lately. But, slow isn’t for everyone.
As I have played the part of the slacker, there are plenty of experts pumping out quality NFL and fantasy football information. So, if you’ve been slacking too, here are some great posts to [...]
A really great ordinary day here. The type of day that any other ordinary American family takes for granted. A day where my most serious problem is my bird still heckling us from up in the tree. Now that's pretty serious so don't get me wrong but any day where we don't have the police on our doorstep with a teen in the back of the patrol car or we didn't have to bring anybody to the emergency room or a day where none of my littles had meltdown rages counts as a fine ordinary day in my book. I love it.So what did I do with this fine ordinary day you ask....nothing. Absolutely nothing. For some reason I just could not motivate myself to do anything that resembled work. Today I was a slacker. I think my brain is still recovering from my teens near death experience. Today it just rebelled
Between volunteering to help with my mother’s ESL kindergarden class (and consequently becoming the best Gingerbread and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom storyteller EVER!! Ok not really, but I can dream) and my dad having a small heart scare on Wednesday–I’ve been a bit distracted from le bloggosphere. (If you didn’t know, an inverted T-wave can ruin your day.) Also, productivity evangelism is exciting and fun, but none the less hard work (more info to come soon). Thankfully my dad is ok and he went home from St. Thomas hospital on Thursday morning, after staying the night on Wednesday.

Face it, Chuck and Reaper are essentially the same show, right? Twentysomething slacker working in a specialty store who has a new role thrust upon him in a science-fiction-y or fantasy fashion? But seven episodes in, which do you think is the superior show? I’ve created a deathmatch to answer this very question!
Chuck vs. Reaper

First I have to apologize for my lax in writing posts these days! I have just been really busy with all of my projects – things are starting to have a way of just piling up! I just started this week my new job – teaching kids how to cook. So needless to say I have been exhausted upon returning home and this poor little blog has really taken the biggest hit! But stay tuned, I have a great little recommendation on its way!
I am always impressed by people's ability to work really hard and accomplish great things. I, on the other hand, am a total slacker. Sure, I do a good job at work, but I mostly ride on my "natural ability". When I was a senior in high school, I received an award for achievement in mathematics and unlike the other award recipients, had no extra work they could credit me for, so they gave it to me for "natural ability". I always did the minimum amount of work to get the A+ and not one iota more. Sometimes I call it "efficiency". I did have to bust butt to get a decent GPA at MIT as the workload there is for superhumans. I'm probably selling myself short, as I've definitely put my share of long hours and huge efforts at work, but for the most part, I do just enough to be "exceeding" and don't put in the extra effort to be "outstanding". I've got a life to live after all!And then once in a while, I hear stories such as these and feel guilty that I'm really not contributing en
…not only didn’t I post much this week, but I also didn’t follow through on my plan to put an apartment a day in the database. I plan on getting caught up on my apartment search tonight and tomorrow. This week I ended up watching a bunch of playoff hockey and going to bed much earlier than I normally do. Again, I am a slacker.
I am glad I made all those lists when I did because weeks like this week happen. I get lazy and I lose focus on what I need to be doing. With my trip to Austin just over two weeks away I feel like I am now behind. Basically I have this Saturday, this Sunday, next Saturday, and part of next Sunday to get everything ready for the trip to Austin and our trip to Maine for the wedding.
This weekends to do list:
Get my cars oil changed
Take jeans to the tailor (I have short legs what can I say)
Buy Polo shirts
Figure out what I am wearing to the wedding
Get toiletries (for trip to Austin)
Water proof shoes
Make kayak cover
Add apartments to the dat
I know I haven't posted hardly a thing for a few days now, but honestly, I'm up to my neck in research for an assignment that is due in next week, as well as studying for an exam I have next Monday. I guess that will serve me right for putting it all off until the last minute!
As you can see from the attached pic, I have finished my East MacDonnell Ranges painting. So that is one out of the way at least. I have had a small attempt at doing some more work on bikini girl, but it was rubbish and I have made the decision to just have the beach and ocean, with no bikini girl at all. Obviously, I'll need to change the name of it now... Painting people is one thing I am just no good at, and not interested enough in to practice and improve upon. I guess we all have our individual interests and at my stage of life I don't see any reason to do something I am just not interested in ie painting people. I do have some great ideas for future paintings though - and not landscapes either
Yes it's true I have been slacking on posts this week...but I promise to have a post up tomorrow. I have a lot going on right now...but there are TWO wins to talk about with my beloved Jackets so I will get that up soon.
Did y’all notice my new renter over yonder in my sidebar? She deserves a post all her own…
Slacker Mom Kristie has recently “divorced” her parents and has received both flack and slack over her decision. I think she’s incredibly brave, well written and honest.
Go check her out ~ tell her Hi from MMTaM [...]
If any of you get the chance check out reforming slackers hues of midweek. She always picks out a great painting to post and it really adds a little beauty in life.Hat tip to Slacker.
So I broke down and took the “Are you a slacker mom?” Quiz. I filled it out as best as I could and I even checked “Male” on it. Here is what I got.

It was always on the cards, what with Sunderland gaffer Roy Keane claiming that he would put out a strong side against Bolton because it would be unfair on the other teams if he didn’t…Fast forward 90 minutes and Sunderland got beaten 2-0 by Bolton - who still had the cloud of relegation [...]
