major investors turned their attention to the commodities indexes, investments that promised substantially higher returns than investing in the stock market. The FDIC is looking to bring back 25 retirees from its division of resolutions and receiverships. Many of these agency veterans likely worked for the FDIC during the late 1980s and early 1990s, when more than 1,000 financial institutions failed amid the savings-and-loan crisis. FDIC spokesman Andrew Gray said the agency was looking to bulk up "for preparedness purposes"... PlayStation 3 Sales Skyrocket
Since the introduction of the stripped down, $399 40 GB model on November 2nd, sales of the Sony PlayStation 3 have tripled. The numbers however, also take into account Black Friday specials such as the one seen at Wal-Mart.The news comes on the heels of similar news from Japan, where the PS3 outsold the Nintendo Wii for the week for the first time since they were both launched. In an ironic twist, the Wii's breakthrough success could actually aid the PS3 for the holidays. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has been quoted as saying that he spent Black Friday morning searching for Wiis and could not find any available. There were however, PS3s everywhere.Sony had more good news as well when the data figures came in and sale of their aging PS2 console rose 275 percent as well for the last few weeks of November.Source:betanews Amazon.com Widgets

This is the highest inventory of homes on the market for sale in Portland since January of 2000 when inventory was 10.1 months.Having 8.6 months of inventory means that if no other homes were listed for sale, the supply of homes would dry up in 8.6 months. This is a large increase from last month’s supply of 6.2 months, almost double the inventory from this time a year ago when inventory was 4.5 months, and more than four times the inventory from 2005’s record breaking year which had a 1.9 month supply.Buyer’s Market. Four Sexual Positions To Skyrocket Your Fertility
Monday is Health & Fitness day at AlexShalman.Com While conception is designed to be one of the most pleasant and simple concepts of the human (or any) species, it is becoming more and more prevalent for couples to be experiencing difficulties in this department. Before attempting expensive and time consuming procedures, such as artificial insemination or oocyte micromanipulation, consider first trying an approach that is both simple and free. It’s true, sexual positions can influence fertility rate. The basis behind this claim is that the closer the semen ends up to the cervix during ejaculation, the higher the chance of fertilization and conception. Some sexual positions are just better at delivering the goods than others. Let’s take a look at some of the positions as well as their pros and cons: Missionary position: The pro of this position is that the semen ends up closer to the cervix. The con is that it makes it harder for the female to orgasm, thus depriving th

      Israel luxury housing prices skyrocket
Prices of luxury and super-luxury housing in Israel have not stopped climbing, rising dozens of percent over the last year, according to the "million price list" put out by the Neot Shiran company, which surveys luxury property prices. The bottom line is that luxury properties have never cost more. "The big increases in luxury real estate prices are isolated from what is happening in the regular real estate market," said Noam Dzaldov, one of the owners of Neot Shiran. "Whoever buys real estate in the luxury market does not need the help of a mortgage bank. Mostly they are people with large assets, or foreign investors, with the money needed to pay such prices. Therefore, developments such as a drop in the stock market, or changes in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, have less effect on their decisions."

      PS3’s sales skyrocket overnight
Shortly after Sony’s announcement of a $100 price cut on the 60GB model yesterday, the PS3 started to rapidly climb in Amazon’s “Movers&Shakers” chart. It jumped from number 28 to number 1 in the video games category in a matter of hours, currently showing a 2700% increase in sales. I’ve told some of my PS3′less buddies about the price drop and a few of them are seriously considering picking it up now. It’s definitely odd to see that $499 is the magic price point in console sales. We’ll see if holds up though. Oh and by the way, there are rumors flying around that Microsoft will announce a $50 price drop on their Xbox360 models at their E3 press conference later today. Sony will also hold a press conference tomorrow, so things should get interesting in the next couple of days. Update: the percentage is related to the increase in Amazon’s rank, not sales. Our apologies for the mistake.

Religious Book Sales Decline While Atheist Book Sales Skyrocket
According to the National Secular Society, an organization I had not previously encountered, the Association of American Publishers says that a sharp decline in the sales of religious books has been accompanied by an increase in sales of atheist-oriented books. Good news to be certain, and I think we will see the trend continue through 2007.Author Christopher Hitchens suggests that Americans are increasingly frustrated with "endless lectures by bogus clerics and endless bullying."Some Christians, however, say they see the rise in atheist literature as only a reaction to the rise of religious influence. Christianity is gaining more strength, with several victories gained throughout the year. “It sort of dawned on the secular establishment that they might lose here,” explained the Rev. Douglas Wilson, author of Letter from a Christian Citizen, in a debate on ChristianityToday.com. “All of this is happening precisely because there's a significant force that they have to deal with.

Digital Signage Market Poised to Skyrocket
Well it appears that the 800-pound gorilla Google has set its sights set on the digital signage market. The New Scientist Web site broke the story earlier this month that the search-engine company has filed for a patent on a way to divvy up ads on a network of electronic signs. The ideas seems to be to give retailers and others a simple way to organize an advertising campaign to promote inventory on, for example, a digital signage network display or displays near their stores in a mall.Just as Google allows advertisers on the search engine to specify characteristics of their online ad campaigns, such as what keywords to use, how much money to spend, and what to say in ads, the new Google system is likely to give retailers a way to get very specific about what product is advertised, how and where it's advertised and how much will be spent to advertise it.Granted, Google is only at the patent filing stage, and it's much too soon to discuss this approach in detail. However, that's not w

PC Sales Skyrocket Following the Release of Windows Vista

Before commercial availability, Windows Vista accounted for a share of 0.18% of the operating system's market. But at this rate Vista is bound to increase its audience.A Microsoft representative has commented that the Redmond Company is very pleased with the initial response to Windows Vista. And the 173% PC sales spur in the first days of Vista availability is illustrative of the success of Microsoft's latest operating system. Oslo Rapes Skyrocket: 6 Times As Many As In NYC - Media And Authorities Ignore The Immigration Connection
Fjordman on The Brussels Journal paints a bleak picture for women in Oslo: the rape statistics are shocking. The number of rapes in the Norwegian capital Oslo is six times as high as in New York City . [...] There has been an explosive increase in the number of rape charges in the city of Oslo, but both the media and the authorities consistently refuse to tell us why. They did do so, however, in 2001, when two out of Norway's three largest newspapers, Aftenposten and Dagbladet, reported that most of these rape charges involve an immigrant perp, which again mostly means Muslims. Both newspapers have since then conveniently "forgotten" about this, and have never connected the issue to Muslim immigration although the number of rape charges has continued to rise to historic levels. They are thus at best guilty of extreme incompetence, since their former articles about this issue are still available online. Norway's Minister of Justice from 2001 to 2005, Odd Einar Døru

How To Skyrocket Your Website To The Top Of Google With Properly Planned Offpage Optimization!
From Brad Callen I don't know about you, but I get extremely excited when I see my new websites at the top of Google for the very first time. Making big changes in ranking is primarily done by what is called offpage optimization. Earlier I mentioned there were two types of search engine optimization. Onpage Optimization Offpage Optimization We've gone over the onpage optimization, so let's move on to the offpage optimization which is what really makes a difference in your site's ranking. Important: Properly planned offpage optimization will make the difference between your website ranking #900 on Google, to ranking #1. So, what is offpage optimization anyway? Offpage optimization basically consists of all of the offpage ranking factors like: Which websites link to you The number of websites linking to you The Google page rank of the website linking to you The page title of the website linking to you The anchor text used in the link linking

Foreclosures Skyrocket - How To Avoid Foreclosure
Yesterday, I saw the all too real affects of foreclosure. A neighbor suddenly packed up his possessions, said his goodbyes and moved. However, we noticed there was never a "For Sale" sign posted in the yard and they never mentioned where they were moving to. Within a couple of days of their departure, the sheriffs arrived at their home, kicked in the doors and threw the departed neighbor's remaining belongings into the front yard. What remained was substantial. It was heartbreaking to see the remnants of a family's past scattered throughout the yard. This scene made the reason for the neighbor's sudden departure all too obvious. Everyday, I hear of someone who is losing their home due to a layoff, medical expenses, escalating mortgage payments (due to a variable interest rate) or some othe
