We're still feeling the pain of the sub-prime mortgage fallout. Housing prices continue to fall - bad for homeowners, good for renters. Construction is underway (see picture below) at Atlantic Station on their newest high-rise condo tower called the Atlantic. When The Atlantic is completed (sometime in the fall of 2009), it will be the tallest building in Atlantic Station and will rank 15th on the list of tallest in Atlanta at 540 feet and 46 stories. There will be 401 residential units in The Atlantic, made up of one, two and three bedroom floor plans. The condos will be priced anywhere from $300,000 to over $1 million. Donald Trump’s company confirmed it’s been scouting the Hub for possible real estate development deals. Donald Trump Jr., son of The Donald, has had a number of meetings in Boston with local real estate developer Bruce Percelay to explore opportunities, sources confirmed. The junior Trump is executive vice president of development and acquisitions for the Trump Organization. Rhona Graff, assistant to Donald Trump Sr., confirmed the billionaire’s company has set its sights on Boston. “They explored most of the high-end properties on the market,” Graff said. “It’s very, very early in the process.”

While Dylan is one of the prime creators of "country rock," Nashville Skyline is as close to a real country album as any he's ever made. Unfortunately, Dylan's decision to sing it in an un-nasal, un-Dylanesque style leaves one of rock's greatest singers seriously handicapped, as if Ali had to box one-handed. As a result, this set can never be any better than its songs. When they're throw-aways ("Country Pie"), even all the great Nashville pickers on board can't help. But when they're good ("I Threw It All Away," "Lay Lady Lay"), they're unforgettable.

I spent Thursday evening playing cards and drinking at The Half King with coworkers and Friday night with another colleague. We had a glass of wine at her apartment in Soho before hitting up Essex Ale House for dinner and The Vig Bar for a former coworker's birthday party.While walking through Soho after work, a man in a suit passed me on the crosswalk. Stages of sunset from the rooftop bar at 230 Fifth during Happy Hour with Terrence (boyfriend visiting from Atlanta), Jenny and Victoria (coworkers), Matt (Jenny's current main squeeze) and new acquaintances.It was an evening of overpriced drinks and great conversation and the cliche ideal of how I had once envisioned my life in New York City.
