(Somewhere in the RenCen, Saturn officials must be grumbling about Škoda's name selection for its eco-roster.)The GreenLine cars feature engines that focus on fuel economy and low emissions. As such, the Fabia GreenLine and Fabia Combi GreenLine (shown above) are powered by a 1.4L TDI with a diesel particulate filter that delivers 79 horsepower and emits less than 110 g/km of CO2. Skoda, VW's Czech subsidiary, is prepping for entrance to Australia. Marking the 100th market the automaker is entering, 14 dealerships across the continent are expected to open by this year. Initially, Skoda will be offering the popular Roomster MPV, Octavia Hatch/Estate, and the high-performance Octavia RS. "The launch in Australia is another symbol of Skoda Auto´s international expansion", stated Fred Kappler, Skoda BOD Member. La Skoda Fabia Wagon è stata annunciata ufficialmente ma per ora è possibile vedere solo una foto del suo profilo perchè l’auto sarà mostrata al pubblico al Salone di Francoforte del prossimo settembre. Non molto gioiosa la linea di questa hatchback che ha preso ispirazione, almeno per quanto riguarda la coda, dalla Volkswagen Golf Variant. (more…)

Come accade ormai ogni anno, anche per il 2007 si rinnova l’appuntamento con le classifiche “JD Power”. La ricerca automobilistica più attesa, realizzata negli Stati Uniti, sulla base di un sondaggio effettuato nel Regno Unito, che in passato ha quasi sempre premiato i risultati ottenuti dai marchi giapponesi, ma lasciando sempre il giusto spazio ai colpi di scena.
Anche per il 2007 (il settimo anno consecutivo), il gruppo Toyota mantiene saldamente lo scettro della classifiche stilate in base alla “Customer Satisfaction” (soddisfazione del cliente). In quella “per marchio” il podio è occupato da Lexus, Honda e decisamente a sorpresa Skoda, capace di emergere e soprattutto a primeggiare nel gruppo di appartenenza: Audi è soltanto settima, Volkswagen e Seat a metà classifica. La Skoda si apre all’Oriente e lo scorso 6 giugno, con una cerimonia in grande stile, è iniziata a Shanghai la vendita delle vetture prodotte in Cina dal marchio ceco. Complessivamente sono state oltre 4 milioni le nuove vetture vendute in Cina lo scorso anno e per il 2007 se ne prevedono 4,9 milioni. (more…)

Have you seen the new Skoda advert? The one where dozens of bakers create a Skoda Fabia cake, well it has reported cost £500,000 to make, but what does it really take to create the cake?
To start there’s 180 eggs, 100kg of flour, 100kg of caster sugar, a massive vat of chocolate sauce, 65kg of dried fruit, and 30kg of almonds; that’s the bodywork taken care of. Next comes the foundation, the car’s chassis, for which the bakers make 448 Madeira bricks which are layered with butter cream, while others work on creating the engine. 300g of golden syrup are poured into the newly created engine, with liquorice use to create the fan belt as they expertly create every engine part.
For the fondant Fabia’s paintwork use fondant icing with 180kg of orange sugar paste to colour then mould round the cake car panels. Next create windows from fondant icing and 90g of brown sugar paste.
The interior is made from Battenburg cakes stuck together by using 12.5kg of jam; add l
La Brisk ha fatto una superelaborazione sulla Skoda Fabia derivante dalla collaborazione con la Prodrive. Il corpo vettura viene profondamente modificato, soprattutto nella coda, mentre il trattamento riservato al 2.0 TFSI di origine VW lascia basiti: se pensate che i 265 cavalli sviluppati da questo motore sulla S3 siano tanti (siamo sempre nell’ordine dei 132 litro), non continuate a leggere. GIULIANOVA LIDO – La gamma Scout di Skoda si amplia: infatti dopo aver presentato la versione rialzata della Station Octavia, ora tocca alla MPV Roomster assumere le parvenze di all terrain veihcle. La versione speciale dell’auto ceca è equipaggiata con 2 1400, un benzina da 86 cv e un diesel da 80 cv. Rispetto alla versione di partenza (la Roomster classica), la versione Scout si distingue per: fascioni paracolpi anteriori, posteriori, laterali; protezioni sottoscocca in acciaio, e per essere leggermente rialzata da terra rispetto alla MPV presentata a Settembre del 2006.
