Volkswagen has decided to hike investments in its subsidiary Skoda for manufacture of the Skoda Fabia. Since its launch, the premium small car has set new standards in small car features. The Fabia has been very popular and so Volkswagen is expanding its base. Volkswagen’s new car plant at Chakan in Maharashtra will first roll out Skoda Fabia before making way for other Volkswagen car models. Fabia will form a major portion of the plant’s assembly line and it could turn out to be the bread and butter car for Volkswagen in India.

Skoda has unveiled a new addition to its Fabia line-up, the Sport. It will sit atop the supermini range alongside the current Fabia 3 flagship. The Sport represents excellent value for money coupled with a more aggressive, purposeful look.
This new stance is achieved thanks to a deeper, more sculpted front spoiler, 16-inch alloy wheels, boot spoiler, a chrome exhaust pipe and rear diffuser.
Green-ness in the European auto market has become quite the trendy thing, as evidenced by the frenzy of alt-fuel/economy/clean-tech debuts littering the IAA floor. It's to be expected, given the regulatory noises coming from Euro government officials. VW-owned Czech automaker Škoda has gotten into the act this year, offering up a "GreenLine" version of its new Fabia compact. (Somewhere in the RenCen, Saturn officials must be grumbling about Škoda's name selection for its eco-roster.)The GreenLine cars feature engines that focus on fuel economy and low emissions. As such, the Fabia GreenLine and Fabia Combi GreenLine (shown above) are powered by a 1.4L TDI with a diesel particulate filter that delivers 79 horsepower and emits less than 110 g/km of CO2. Another GreenLine car that will go on sale in biofuel-friendly Sweden later this year is the Octavia Combi Greenline, which is driven by a 100-horse 1.6L E85-compatible engine. Green is definitely the new black. Or something.

La Brisk ha fatto una superelaborazione sulla Skoda Fabia derivante dalla collaborazione con la Prodrive. Il corpo vettura viene profondamente modificato, soprattutto nella coda, mentre il trattamento riservato al 2.0 TFSI di origine VW lascia basiti: se pensate che i 265 cavalli sviluppati da questo motore sulla S3 siano tanti (siamo sempre nell’ordine dei 132 litro), non continuate a leggere. Secondo News.auto.cz la Skoda starebbe preparando una versione Cabrio della sua Fabia da presentare al prossimo Salone di Francoforte.
