I love discussions like these even though they may be hypothetical in nature, it not only shows the current nature of the hip hop game but also shows the frustrations of rappers like Skillz. I personally, don’t buy the argument that Diddy should find a “new Diddy”. I think with guys like Diddy and Jay-Z [...]
Skillz is out with the video to his new single 'Don't Act Like You Don't Know', featuring Freeway, from Richmond, Virginia rapper's third studio album 'The Million Dollar Backpack', out now on Koch Records. Watch it below.
When I went to England and Scotland last year with my friend Michelle, we were polar opposites in terms of packing. Her suitcase was a thing of BEAUTY-streamlined, well organized, and she packed the perfect amount of things. Yup, that Chelly is a lean, mean, packing machine.
I, on the other hand, ended up lugging around a carry [...]

Skillz
Old school hip hop heads know him by the stage name, “Mad Skillz,” and new school hip hop heads know him as “The guy who does those year end ‘rap-up’ songs.” No matter how you were first introduced to the Detroit born, Richmond, Virginia raised Skillz, though; there is no disputing his uncanny ability to [...]
Here's a special message that was sent to me by the good peoples over at Koch records from Va rapper Mad Skillz. The topic concerns the importance of DJ's and kinda center's around Lil' Wayne's recent comment about over Mixtape DJs.....
(Taken from Skillz’s blog: )
“Iiight so fuck the dj? For real? Wow! First lemme say I dont get alot of radio/club play,

I like making shit up. Like... brainstorming ideas for household inventions that someone should create, build, market and sell. I'd do it myself and rake in all of the cash, but, you know, the thing is, I have no engineering skillz, I'm slightly lazy, and my arm hurts, so even though I conjure up some brilliant ideas, they are going nowhere. Fast. And I complain that I need more money...Today's invention has to do with a semi-monthly task I loathe with all of my being.Clipping Daisy's toenails. They are long.Really long.Clawish freaky Guinness Book of World Record long.Embarrassingly I am a horrible pet owner long. And the disclaimer...But, you see, I am incapable of doing them myself. As several vets have written on her chart notes, Daisy is: "too wiggly." I cannot hold her and clip.

Oh yes it is absolutely true. Mo Pie and The Rotund are reading my mind.
I post an image of an early 1900’s advertising poster about The Tape Worm “diet” on the same day that the lovely and talented Mo Pie posts about The Tape Worm “diet” and crazy weight loss fads including (god help [...]
Now back to Blog-achella, and I'm gonna have to get off my butt if I want to get this done in time!James ZabielaWho he is: British DJ who actually rose to fame after winning one of those magazine "Bedroom DJ" contests... perhaps those things aren't a total crock after all. But more importantly, if you look at that picture, I'm pretty sure he's also in Hanson. What he sounds like: From what I read, he is lauded for his mix of House and Breaks... wow, no one ever thought of that before, what a visionary! Actually, he also has super mad skillz with the Pioneer CDJs, too, which I won't make a snide remark about... 'cuz maybe if I got off my butt a little more, I could master some of those tricks... Anyhoo, dude's only got a few productions under his belt, so I chose this pretty good Roykso
For the most part, I think of myself as having relatively decent knife skills. I can finely dice a onion without much effort, debone a chicken, julienne a potato, cut a carrot into a brunoise, etc. - not half bad for an amateur chef like me.Well, despite what I think of my knife-wielding skills, I got taken to school this past weekend. My mom, who's in town visiting, wanted to make some low bock gow or turnip cakes for Karen and me. Most recipes for low bock gow call for grating the daikon radish that goes into the cake. However, my mom prefers to cut the radish instead so that it does not get too wet and soggy while it's being cooked.Watching my mom slice the daikon into a fine julienne was most impressive. Each cut was very clean and precise, and all of the strips were nearly unifor
Last night while laying next to Zane in our bed, trying to get him to go to sleep, he presented proudly one of his new talents. It's something I can't do, but his Mommy apparently can. What is it you ask? It's toe snapping. Much like most of us can do with our thumb and a finger, Zane can use his big toe and the one next to it to make a snapping noise. He thinks he's coolest cat on the planet when he does it. But truthfully, to me he is. I can't even cross my toes or pick things up with them. I guess I don't have the toe muscle control and coordination to pull off such amazing feats. He and his Mommy can do both.Since I never possessed the talent, I don't know if it's normal. Are Grace and Zane weird or do many others have this amazing ability? Please do tell.Rothfamilyadventures.com
I had starred this post from Marcom Blog as a favorite last month, but now it's particularly pertinent since our next assignment is a social media press release about ourselves - a social media resume.Classmates, check out the post link above for some examples of other's social media resumes and maybe they can inspire you for your own assignment.Check out the source of Marcom's entry: a post entitled Die, resume! Die! Die! Die! by Bryan Person, where Bryan details his reasoning in support of the SMR and goes over a list of what you should include in your own.another example (if a bit too much for our needs, but definitely the right idea): Rohit Bhargava's Social Media Bio
As most of you know, my music room is slowly turning into my sewing/crafty/jewelry making room. I recently cleaned it all out and organized stuff better in there. I wanted to listen to my iPod while working, but didn’t want to buy some fancy speakers. So I found my old Sony CD player speakers. I [...]

XXLMag.com caught up with Skillz for a Q&A, where the rapper sounded off on "the music, the industry, everything about it." Skillz moaned, "Eighty percent of music just sucks. The music is so bad and it seems like it's getting worse. And when you don
Exclusive VideoCuz, this new video by Skillz called "Don't Act Like You Don't Know" is like a trainwreck on a 4 way intersection...yep. Peep the "Skills" of the Va-designer featuring tag team partner Philly-iller, quite chiller, Freeway. Good good...real talk!
New music from the brotha Skillz out of VA, off of his upcoming album (title unknown) dropping soon. The track is dope, but it is missing a little somethin’, something’ which is why it lacks the bangers category tag. (This song has grown on me, so i retract my previous statement) If you’ve never heard of Skillz, check out his official Okay Player page (and the free downloads there), which does place him in the same network as Talib, Pharoahe, and The Roots. The video is after the break y’all. (more…)

Okay so there is no “remove fixtures” button on the software that comes with the computer. That was a teensy lie.
The solution to having the best location to shoot something except for a hanging object blocking it, is to simply remove the object.
If you can remove it easily - do it. Or you can try the He-Man approach I favor and simply lift the object up with one hand and shoot the photo one handed.
Damn that thing was heavy.

The Husband has an
extremely annoying habit of needing to share unpleasant information. Granted, sometimes that information is
pertinent and thus, there really is no avoiding it, but while I find the
information itself unfortunate, it’s the presentation that really gets me. Say, for example, when I’m in the bathroom
and he comes to the door to share the morning updates.

Husband: Honey?
Me: Yeah?
The Husband: Let me know before you open the door because
I’m right outside here cleaning up a hairball.
Me: Okay.
The Husband: Oh, and Bean is sitting out here. He really wants to come in and he looks so
sad.
Me: I’ll be out soon. He’ll be fine.
