I can finely dice a onion without much effort, debone a chicken, julienne a potato, cut a carrot into a brunoise, etc. - not half bad for an amateur chef like me.Well, despite what I think of my knife-wielding skills, I got taken to school this past weekend. My mom, who's in town visiting, wanted to make some low bock gow or turnip cakes for Karen and me. Most recipes for low bock gow call for grating the daikon radish that goes into the cake. Last night while laying next to Zane in our bed, trying to get him to go to sleep, he presented proudly one of his new talents. It's something I can't do, but his Mommy apparently can.What is it you ask?It's toe snapping. Much like most of us can do with our thumb and a finger, Zane can use his big toe and the one next to it to make a snapping noise. He thinks he's coolest cat on the planet when he does it. But truthfully, to me he is. I can't even cross my toes or pick things up with them. I guess I don't have the toe muscle control and coordination to pull off such amazing feats. He and his Mommy can do both.Since I never possessed the talent, I don't know if it's normal. Are Grace and Zane weird or do many others have this amazing ability? pertinent and thus, there really is no avoiding it, but while I find the
information itself unfortunate, it’s the presentation that really gets me. Say, for example, when I’m in the bathroom
and he comes to the door to share the morning updates.
