After going 11-3 in week 14 a slightly better than mediocre 9-6 last week. However with 51 wins more than losses, I have assured my self a winning season. Lot’s of upsets last week maybe none so shocking as Philadelphia shutting down Dallas. Sorry, I stopped believing in curses when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004. And as far as playing in front of one’s significant other effecting performance, plenty of players have felt that same ”clammy” feeling, playing in front of their dads, or former coaches. We all want to succeed in front of the people we look up to, it’s called being human!   Â

My baby girl is sixteen months old today. The last few months have been such a joy to watch her grow and learn. She loves to laugh and play peekabo with her brother. I should do a whole separte post about that because it's so funny to watch the two interact. Ava's favorite thing to do lately is to grab a toy from Cameron and quickly run away from him while laughing, which of course drives Cameron crazy. She loves to be chased. I am sure when they are older John and I will not be as amused when the two fight. Here’s the Sunday Sixteen for this holiday weekend!
1. Alex’s took his very first steps all on his own this week. He walks like a pro everywhere, but still refuses to let go except for these few steps so far. He insists on at least having someone’s finger to hold on to, though he hasn’t figured out yet that the finger isn’t really helping him any.
2. Yesterday I got a tick bite. Haven’t so much as seen a tick in almost a decade, and sure enough, I get bit when I’m pregnant. Lyme disease can cause all sorts of problems for a developing fetus, some of them very, VERY serious, so were being very watchful for any symptoms at all. Luckily, so far we seem to have escaped safely. Please pray for my little developing one that things stay that way!

Okay okay okay! I need to start getting back on track with healthy eating. Since I started this new thing… errr, that’s my secret and I haven’t talked about yet, my appetite has gone down, but so has my ability to really care about much. And so I’ve been eating a lot of chocolate chips and other unhealthy things. But since I don’t eat much, my weight is holding steady.
If I were to use a calorie counter, I wonder how many calories I consume with these chocolate chips. I used to track my calories a lot, using a spreadsheet, but using an online system is easier, and I can do it from anywhere. And it’d be a good way to see what I’m eating.
If I did that, I’d use a free calorie counter. And then I’d have to start watching what I eat. And making a better meal plan again. I know how to lose weight, I know what I have to do, I know how to eat healthy. I just have to make the decision to do it.

1. We found out Wednesday that Alex is going to a big brother sometime next January. Surprise!
2. Alex took his very first steps last night. He’s already flying through the house pushing his toys, and we knew his delay in walking was most likely related to the fluid in his ears. Last night he took two wobbly steps to the coffee table. Hubby and I made a HUGE deal about it, and I have a suspicion that it will increase by leaps and bounds from here on.
3. Alex’s favorite foods this week: Old El Paso Mexican Skillet meal (made this for the family and Alex absolutely wolfed it down), greek gyro (from the Greek Festival downtown yesterday), and diced peaches.

1. When did you take the bumpers off your toddler’s crib? We took Alex’s off a short time ago because he was climbing on the bumpers and then getting his legs caught. Now, he has no bumpers to climb on, but he’s still getting his legs caught. He’s only getting caught in the mornings or right after naptime when he’s trying to get out. Thoughts?
2. We got pictures made this past week and the few that I’ve seen so far are absolutely wonderful! I love that I have such a photogenic son!
3. Alex and Diesel are once again inseperable this week. It’s a good thing too, because Alex’s affection and Diesel’s dedication to him in return is the only thing that keeps my diaper cream eating dog in my good graces.

1. Stress stinks. And somehow I can make even housework stressful. I need to learn to mellow out when it comes to laundry, vacuuming, and all those other wonderful hassles.
2. Alex had his first swim in his very own backyard pool this past week. He loved every minute up until he had to get out. He also seems to think it is hilarious to put his face in the water and then open his mouth. You would think this might scare him, but no, I think he actually gets excited in a “Look what I can do!” way.
3. We sacrificed a tube of Desitin to Diesel’s ever growing appetite for diaper cream this past week. The dog has brain damage. He’s just got to.
4. Big news we found out this week - Alex has to have tubes put in his ears. This is scheduled for mid-May. I’m not crazy about the idea of him having to go under general anest

I'm not thinking there's anything sweet about it! It sucks plain and simple! My oldest child is 16 years old as of 2:41pm EST today. This is so cruel, it truly is. Sunday is here again already? Where did the week go? Geez, it’ll be Christmas before I catch up. I don’t need to tell you that we had a rough week around here. But the healing process is slowly starting, and it’s time to get back to at least pretending to go through the motions. So in keeping with tradition, here is the Sunday Sixteen!
1. We’re making progress on the “no throwing food” idea. Alex seems to have settled down in that regard, which just might save some unsuspecting soul sitting behind us in a restaurant from getting a headful of pasta in the near future.
2. Alex had his 15 month shots this past week. 2 to be exact, and he took them like a trooper.
3. He also got his measurements checked. He is 30 and 3/4 inches and 21 pounds. An almost 1 inch increase from his last check, and exactly the same in the weight category (surprise, surprise).
4. Mommy got a new digital camera for her birthday, so that means lots of new and finall
Finally, a full night of entertaining basketball, both college and pro. The tip-off of the Sweet Sixteen was last night and all four of the games were gripping including 3 of the 4 coming down to the final moments.(5) Tennessee- 84(1) Ohio State- 85Ron Lewis came up HUGE yet again and helped spark a historic 20-point comeback to knock off the 5th seeded Tennessee Volunteers, 85-84. At halftime the Vols were up by 17 and were seemingly cruising to a trip to the Elite 8, because not only did they have the hot shooting, Chris Lofton on their side they also had history with them. The biggest comeback in a NCAA Tournament game at the half that ended in Regulation was the 17 points erased by UNLV. And not only that, the Buckeye's leading scorer, Greg Oden, was on the bench most of the second half due to foul trouble."In this tournament, the two most important words are `survive' and `advance,' and we've been very, very fortunate the last couple of games to do those things," said Buckeyes

1) This weeks big news, Alex is allergic to Amoxicillin. We know this because he broke out in horrendous hives all over his body and required a visit to the pediatrician AND the allergist, all in one day.
2) I desperately need to buy more Aquaphor. Preferably in a dog proof tube.
3) Alex started waving “hi” this week. He also usually says something sounding like “hey” or “hi”. It’s so cute!
4) I won a Guest Blogger contest over at Pinks & Blues Blog AND I won a gift certificate. Pinks and Blues are looking for other guest bloggers, so visit their site and give them some literary love.
5) Alex’s favorite foods this week: strawberries, sliced american cheese, yogurt, and feta chicken.
6) Mommy and Daddy have been much better about establishing a “read to Alex before bedtime” routine. Great for Alex’s vocabulary, and it’s a nice chance for some quiet family time too.

Sunday Sixteen
1) Alex has ANOTHER ear infection. At one point his temperature got up to 103.9. I’ll be posting on all the ways to bring a toddler’s fever down shortly. Trust me, at this point, I’ve tried them ALL.
2) Alex was kind enough to give Mommy his ear infection too. Even the same ear. At least he likes to share things.
3) It was 90 degrees in Greenville today! Thank you warm weather, I love you! Time to break out the sunscreen for the little man though.
4) We are however, finally healthy enough to start going back to playdates. Alex LOVES playdates, and Mommy is always a fan of getting to chat with other moms.

Chapter 2: FOREVER SWEET SIXTEEN (part 2 of 3)Thursday, September 14, 2000 Before leaving school Thursday afternoon I talked to my friend Ink in the lobby. “What are you doing later?” he asked.“I gotta go see that orthopedic guy.”“Oh yeah, I forgot. What do you think he’ll say?”“He’ll probably tell me I have a dislocated hip or some shit,” I said jokingly.I met my mom at the doctor’s office after school. When he walked into the room he had me stand up and face her. I was butt-naked underneath the gown, so the whole situation was quite awkward. He pushed around my back and ass for over a minute as I stood there getting more and more nervous. Just say it’s a stress fracture! Quit fucking with me.Finally, after groping me for much longer than I felt was warranted, he said, “Something is definitely growing there.” Growing there – what the fuck does that mean?
