After years of noticing a complete lack of gaming for the Mac platform, EA Games has made an attempt, albeit poor, towards moving Macs towards better gaming machines. Macs are great computers and would certainly be able to handle most games thrown at them. Unfortunately, no one has been designing for them.

It seems as though all of these games are somewhat unimpressive and hardly unique to the Mac Platform, but this is definitely a good first step. I’ll look forward to the majority of game designers moving back to the Mac platform as market share increases positively influence the creators.

Theola Labbe of the Washington Post pointed out yesterday that the D.C. Public Charter School Board approved the opening of six new charter schools in the Fall 2008. Now the real fun begins for these start-up businesses in that they need to find facilities. I know that Ms. Labbe is going to closely follow the progress of these schools and my hope is that she focuses in on the hunt for space.
Threadless has announced the six standard competition winning t-shirts and I have to admit that four of them are absolutely stoning (lately I had been a little disappointed by Threadless' winning designs). So, my favorite ones are "Holding Pattern", "Serenade", "Sounds Of The Sea", and "Oh No!".The two first have a nice artistic flair and a poetic quality that I always appriciate on a t-shirt. On the other hand, "Sounds Of The Sea" represents the typical Threadless fanny and cute design. Finally, "Oh No!" adds some street quility that we hadn't seen for a while in this competition.

Over at JoBlo they have six new Potter character posters. They all follow the same pattern of the one above, showing one of the main characters together with what I’m guessing is a relevant enemy that character will have to face in the movie.
I quite like these posters. They follow the same general aesthetic of the other Potter posters, but they seem to be more specific to the Potter 5 storyline. I think this will get the people who have already read the book more pumped for seeing it come alive on the big screen. And it will make the people who haven’t read the book (like me) curious. It’s a win-win situation.

The story started when six of the local university colleges requested the dropping of the word ‘college’ in their names as they felt their current description had an inferior connotation. Then, they were being asked to upgrade their status. In April 2006, Higher Education Minister, Datuk Mustapa Mohamed had said that he was looking into their request. Finally, our government has agreed to rename 'university college (kolej universiti)' to 'university (universiti)' back in October 2006.
