They run the Boston Marathon today. The Holy Grail of Marathon running, if you will.I haven't even come close to qualifying. But I got the digits.I found the bib numbers from some of the races I've run. (The other ones are lost). I added them, then divided the number by the number of bibs I have. The number I came up with is my own Fantasy Boston Bib Number: 2731I went to the Boston Marathon Web Site and found the last few finishers with this Bib number. The Boston finisher with Bib No. 2731 over the last few years has finished in a time ranging from 3:14 to 4:17.I may not be fast, but I've got fast karma.I'm rooting for whomever wears Bib No. 2731 today.Get out your bib numbers. Play the game. Who are you rooting for?And by the way, if you see one of your bib numbers in my picture, drop me

Sam Chung, teapot, Andrew Martin, glaze and firing, 2007, porcelain, 7" x 8" x 4". Photo by Peter Lee.Northern Clay Center 2424 Franklin Avenue East Minneapolis, Minnesota 55406 USAFor the past eight months, six artists who work in porcelain have been shipping bisque ware to one another, forms that are distinctive and representative of their individual work. Their collaborators have then glazed and fired the bisqued work in their particular gaze palettes. While the potters in this exhibition were able to see the forms which they were finishing, the instruction to complete the pots in their own styles has resulted in a combination of forms and finishes that is occasionally as startling as a surrealist collage.More details
“Chaos; control; chaos; control; You like? You Like?” states Stockard Channing while portraying Ouisa Kittredge and having her husband Flan Kittredge (Donald Sutherland) flip a double-sided painting by Wassily Kandinsky with the styles on each side being either chaotic or controlled in Six Degrees of Separation. Adapted from the play of the same name by [...]
Six degrees of separation in instant messaging According to Nature in ‘Six degrees of messaging,’ computer scientists at Microsoft Research Redmond lab have logged a full month of instant messengers using — logically — Microsoft Messenger. ‘The compressed dataset occupies 4.5 terabytes, composed from 1 billion conversations [...]
Those who may be wondering, “What is this Theory of Six degrees of separation”; Six degrees of separation, is a theory which suggests, on average, every person on this world is connected to each other by just 6 steps. . .
If you’ve ever played the game “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,” you know there’s a lot of truth to it. It’s based on the notion that any actor can be linked through his or her film roles to Mr. Bacon. And if you’ve ever spent some significant time on social networking sites, it’s [...]
Dallas fans were not cheering Jessica Simpson last night. Many blamed her presence for Tony Romo’s abysmal performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Cowboys’ 10-6 loss. The Cowboys had been the heavy favorites (except, of course, here in Philadelphia!).
What’s the Gossip Girl connection?
Tony Romo seems to have a flair for blonde distractions. His quarterback passing rating was a woeful 22 - his lowest since… former girlfriend and Idol winner Carrie Underwood appeared in the stands this time last year.
Carrie, of course, has moved on from Tony. She is maybe-perhaps-nobody’s saying dating Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford. Since production has reportedly now ceased on Gossip Girl due to the strike, Chace doesn’t have to worry about distractions for his career.
As for Romo? According to the Dallas Morning News, he was heckled outside the arena by a fan who shouted, “Worry about the game, not your girlfriend!”

The idea that people are connected through just “six degrees of separation,” based on Stanley Milgram’s “small world study,” has become part of the intellectual furniture of educated people. New evidence discovered in the Milgram papers in the Yale archives, together with a review of the literature on the “small world problem,” reveals that this [...]
This had to be another awkward situation for Paris:
Paris Hilton and Josh Henderson arriving at the Samsung and Sprint Present the Upstage party.
Ryan Cabrera and Riley Keough arrive at the party. Riley is the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough, and granddaughter to Elvis. Her boyfriend Ryan Cabrera, used to go out with Ashlee Simpson, and Ashlee Simpson used to go out with Josh Henderson - who evidently will always love Ashlee.
Still with me?
Former BFF of Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, at the party, seen here with Riley Keough.

You've probably heard of the Six Degrees concept. Any one person (including me, Kevin Bacon) is connected to any other person through six or fewer relationships, because it's a small world.www.SixDegrees.org is about using this idea to accomplish something good. It's social networking with a social conscience. Through this web site, you can learn about and support the charities of celebrities and your friends, as well as fundraise for the causes close to your heart. I received this email today from Kevin Bacon (Ok it was a mass mail out to all members of 6 degrees but I thought it may catch your attention.)Hi Sueblimely,I’m Kevin Bacon and I’d like to introduce you to Six Degrees, a program which makes it easy for you to raise awareness and support for a charity that’s important to you. It is my hope that Six Degrees will soon be a force for good, by bringing a social conscience to social networking. I’d love you to be part of this important effort. Since its launch in late
I like to cause kak on the roads. I like to make people know that they have erred. I like to be the guy that jumps in front of you if you jump a red robot. I did this yesterday; some guy jumped the robot (strike one) nice and slowly on his cellphone (strike two). So I quickly shot in to first gear and popped in front of him in the middle of the road. Instead of reclining in his chair in shame he rolled down his window, stopped talking on his cellphone and launched at me with profanities like I haven't heard since my days at Uni (strike three).Like any dignified man would, I yelled back throwing equally horrid rubbish from my mouth at this man. We yelled for about 30 seconds and satisfied I drove off.I think that it took about 2 minutes for me to hit panic stations. I immediately spoke to myself:Nic: What the F*ck did you just do?Self: You just ruined a couple of business opportunities.Nic: What the hell are you talking about?Self: Well, what if you go in to your meetings next week and
The theory of six degrees of separation is a fairly well known one. For those of you who are in the dark, this is a theory that states that [almost] everyone in the world is no more than six steps away from every other person in the world. It's a pretty nifty theory I think. The reason that I am talking about this theory is that many people know the theory in relation to Kevin Bacon (the actor). I have heard that every person in the world is within sex steps or less of Kevin. Firstly I always wondered how is that actually possible, prove it. Then I would wonder why the theory uses Kevin Bacon and not, for example, James Dean?Anyways, The Oracle of Bacon is one hell of a cool site that illustrates links from any Hollywood star, dead or alive, to Kevin. Go ahead, make my day, try and find an actor alive or dead without a link to Mr Bacon, I don't think you can do it.Then on to more pressing and interesting business:Six degrees of seperation and social networksFor a while now I have been
Yesterday, Terrence called me to say that Kevin (his best friend in college) wanted Terrence to meet him in New York City. So I asked, "When?"And Terrence answered, "Tonight."Terrence's mom works for Delta Airlines so it really "ain't nothing" for him to get on a plane and meet Kevin in any corner of the nation. The two of them are becoming quite the travelers. So when I asked T if he was coming, I was surprised when he said no. Apparently Terrence had better things to do this weekend in Atlanta than fly to New York and hang out with Kev and Ron Artest at this weekend's fashion shows and after-parties. Riiiiiight.Kevin is in the city for a few days to play in Ron Artest's charity game (in which I heard Kev scored 45 points tonight); both of them play for the Sacramento Kings, but the latter is from Queens. Kevin, Terrence and I attended the same college in North Carolina, which is where T and I met and began dating after I graduated; Mr. Artest has no idea I'm alive. This morning,
