I installed Wordpress 2.2 version on a new blog of mine on Indian Real Estate sometime back and was trying to add a Sitemap page to it today. I added the Sitemap page and it gave a 404 error (page not found). My permalink structure was set to “Date and name based”. I switched to “Default” permalink structure and the page would come up. I needed the “Date and name based” option (useful from SEO point of view) to work for me though. I was looking at the page options (from the admin interface) and tweaked around the “Page Slug” option and named sitemap-propertysamachar instead of sitemap. Viola! the page started coming up. I've updated my Google Sitemap Generator Mod on the sNews Forums here. This Mod dynamically generates an XML sitemap for Google to index each page of your site. It includes your home, articles, categories and pages... You can find more information about XML sitemaps on http://sitemaps.org. Update 9/16/07: If you don't want to modify your snews.php file, you can download this mod as a more or less standalone program here: http://dahlin.googlecode.com/files/snews-google-sitemap.zip. Just drop the files in the root of your install and tell google to find your sitemap at googlesitemap.php instead of sitemap.xml. This approach works well and should be more compatible with already heavily modded versions of snews. I recommend using the new standalone version.

Para los que no sepan que es un Sitemap puede consultar aca para los que ya saben que es y para que sirve pero no tienen idea de como hacerlo les voy a explicar más o menos, hasta hace poco yo no usaba Sitemap y es un grave error eso así que pasemos directo al tutorial.1.- Ingresamos a Free Sitemap Generator y nos hacemos una cuenta.2.- Despues agregamos nuestro sitio en la parte de abajo te aparece para que pongas la dirección y despues le das donde dice "Add new site".3.- Una vez agregado ahi en esa misma pagina en donde dicen "Your sitemaps jobs" van a ver el sitio que agregaron en la parte de la derecha dice "make sitemap" dale clic ahí.4.- Luego te dice que crees un archivo .txt con el nombre "fsgadf80" (sin comillas) y lo subas a tu servidor (a la raiz) esto es para comprobar que el sitio es tuyo.5.- Si subiste el archivo txt y esta todo bien te dice que se esta creando el sitemap dale clic en "Back to control panel"6.- Dependiendo de cuantas paginas tengas y esas minudencias
