Old Blue Eyes was quite the crooner. With ease he could get toes tapping and ladies swooning like only the greats can. If you ever got to hear him sing Fly Me To The Moon or any of his classics in person, consider yourself lucky. While it is indeed sad he is gone, what of those who have stepped up to fill the crooning void? Perhaps Michael Buble singing Everything is where you have gone to get y
In 2007, I hired Frank Sinatra Jr. to do the narration of my novel McKnight’s Memory into audio-book form. It’s a full cast production with famous actors of the ’60s performing the characters. Mr. Sinatra came in last to do the narration. It was a dream working with him.
I had heard his audio commentary on [...]

I was once trying to talk a friend into taking a road trip with me. My friend was skeptical about the idea. “Suppose we go,” he said, “what will we actually do once we arrive?”
“Learn,” was my one-word reply. And I was serious.

That's right folks, Martin Scorsese is tentatively attached to direct a biopic of the Chairman of the Board. This, of course, would happen after he finishes up his biopics of Bob Marley and George Harrison.
The movie will, among other things, set the record straight on Ol' Blue Eyes' involvement with the Mafia. Tina Sinatra, Mr. Sinatra's youngest daughter, released these details in an

Frank Sinatra - In The Wee Small Hours (1955)

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Pop quiz: What comes to mind when you think about Yogi Berra, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein and Toni Morrison? Brilliant minds, inspiring souls, trailblazers - all are likely responses.
And … New Jersey?
Yep. They all have strong ties to the oft-maligned Garden State, and they’re among the first 15 people to be [...]

In a jab at today’s music industry and its lack of bankable talents, a recent article noted how Frank Sinatra’s renditions, many of them from the 1950’s and 1960’s, keep ringing cash registers while sales of new musical acts are making a thud. Sinatra isn’t “back.” He, like many other quality contributors, never [...]
With some minor alterations, this is essentially the same arrangement of "Stardust" that Sinatra recorded with the Tommy Dorsey band in 1941. Here, Frank is accompanied by his cohorts from "Your Hit Parade," including conductor Mark Warnow. Francis Albert Sinatra (December 12, 1915 -- May 14, 1998) was an Italian American jazz-oriented popular singer and Academy Award-winning actor.Beginning his musical career in the swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, Sinatra became a solo artist with great success in the early to mid-1940s, being the idol of the "bobby soxers". His professional career had stalled by the 1950s, but it was reborn in 1954 after he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He signed with Capitol Records and released several critically lauded albums (such as In the Wee Small Hours, Songs For Swingin' Lovers, Come Fly With Me, Only the Lonely and Nice 'n' Easy). Sinatra left Capitol to found his own record label, Reprise Records (finding success with albums such as Ring-A-Ding-Ding, Sinatra at the

This album was done by a group of producers who call themselves Cookin' Soul. Up until today, I've never heard of them but in case you're wondering, heres what it says on their Myspace page:"Cookin' Soul is the name of a trio of producers/dee-jays straight out of Valencia, Spain. gestern habe ich nach langer zeit mal wieder ein paar adam green platten aufgelegt. ewig ist es her, dass ich ihm so bewusst gelauscht habe. ganz besonders seine ersten werke werden mir wohl stets in erinnerung bleiben. inzwischen hat deutschlands liebster indie-schluffie sein mittlerweile fünftes album eingespielt, das unverkennbar seine handschrift trägt. in den disziplinen große hymnen und gefühlvolle balladen mit gutem schuss ironie macht ihm so schnell keiner was vor! wann “sixes & sevens” auf den markt kommt ist allerdings noch unbekannt. bis dahin: abwarten und green hören.
Of all the CDs people have given me to listen to on the road there is one song from my friend Jen H. that has become of my favorites. This was a big dream and so many of the words in this song hit the spot such as: "Tnd is near" (of my trip) and of coruse "I've traveled each and every highway; and more, much more than this, I did it my way." It couldn't be truer than that. I took my dream and did it my way. Graduated from college and did it my way.

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which Im certain.
Ive lived a life thats full.
Ive traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.
Regrets, Ive had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.
I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Couple of years ago I wrote an article about the Twin Palm house, a house Frank Sinatra once lived in in Palm Springs.I remember driving there and finding it hard to locate. I had to enter a gated community of Spanish style homes. Then, right before my eyes, was a yard with two large palm trees. It was the front of the Twin Palms House hidden among the community of Spanish-style homes. Inside there was much to surprise me, including a swimming pool shaped like a grand piano. The biggest surprise of all turned out to be a tape recorder found in between the walls there. Read about that here.Poodle Springs for some, Palm Springs for others; come see mid-century modern, vintage cars, and everything else that is Palm Springs

Well, thanks to this (and Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose), you can toss that theory out the window, because Nancy Sinatra is a resounding success. Sinatra was never a great singer; she got by on her boots, Lee Hazlewood's songs, and Frank. Believe it or not, her vocals are one of the strong points here. With age her voice seems to have gained some gravitas and strength. She also rarely re
