The bad news first:The openers, Austin's Oh No! Oh My!, were unfortunately stopped at the border due to some grey area issue regarding the difference between a bar and a venue and the need for a temporary working visa. They seem like the type of group that would put on a great live show, so this was a bit disappointing.The rest is all good news.I came to the show having seen Au Revoir Simone once before in Montreal when they were opening for Peter Bjorn & John. They were great then, even though they were playing a club a little too large for their more intimate and warm sound. These girls spin delicate melodies of retro beats and dreamy synth, and the result is thoroughly endearing -- it almost makes you feel comforted and assured.It opens with a sleepy, summery little melody.
