The searches can take time. However, it's worth the wait. The interiors are very grand indeed, and the staff are friendly.2. Statue Of Eros, Piccadilly Circus. This is the geographical heart of London. Hackers set ambitious sights on UK iPhone
Many months after the handset’s US launch and mere days from becoming available in the UK, the iPhone’s chastity is under threat already from ambitious hackers who aim to unlock the handset from sole network O2 “within hours” of it going on sale.  It’s an ambitious sign of the ambivalence some users are feeling toward both Apple and their UK partner, fuelled by pricing significantly higher than their US counterparts are faced with - £269 ($560) for the handset, and the cheapest line rental package comes in at £35 ($73) a month - and specifications that pale, on the page at least, compared to that offered in other high-end handsets.  (more…) Share This

      Gifted education in sights
Last time Florida lawmakers tried to change funding for gifted education, the advocates came out of the woodwork to beat the proposed bill into submission. This time around, the folks who want to alter the system are reaching out to the parent groups early. Rep. John Legg (left), vice chairman of the House K-12 Education Committee, is working with Senate Education Appropriations chairman Steve Wise to craft a bill that would hold school districts to a higher standard when it comes to gifted programs. Their proposal, still in drafting, would force districts to keep track of how they are spending money for gifted education. Right now, it's just a chunk of special education funding, and most districts can't (won't?) say how the cash gets divided, or which academic programs get the money. Too often, Legg said, parents will say their children are classified as "gifted," but the district gives them maybe an hour a week of pull-out attention, yet the districts get full funding for gifted

Duddy KO’s Young Challenger – Has Sights set on Pavlik - EastsideBoxing.com
By David Janke: On Saturday night at Hunky Dory’s in Dublin, Irish middleweight John Duddy defeated Prince Arron from Manchester in two short rounds. Duddy’s promoter, Eddie McLaughlin, expressed hope that Pavlik-Duddy will come together in January or February, but confirmed that it hinges on Jermain Taylor’s decision whether or not to exercise his rematch clause with Kelly Pavlik. (The rematch is to take place above the middleweight limit of 160 at a catch weight of 166; Taylor’s decision more…

London: accomodation, sights, a great weekend...
Did you know that the London Eye with it's 135 m is the tallest observation wheel in the World (well, pretty soon another one in Singapore will be taller). I didn't untill I visited it resently and it was quite interesting. You get the best view of the intire city sitting at the top. I can only recommend trying it if you ever visit the city.Went to Kensington Palace too, the Tower and I guess a bunch of other places. Very overwhelming when you are only there for a few days and you still want to see most of the sights. But it's a fantastic city. Not only the historic sights but also the shopping and the musicals. And then on top of it all the pubs. British pubs are the only real pubs. Great selection of beer served the right way and then you get to watch a game of soccer or two. Though it was the Rugby World Cup that was on at the time.Another great thing about London: Accomodation is easy to come by. I did a quick search for "London Accomodation" at google and within a few clicks I

See Old San Juan’s Historic Sights with a Ranger
Most people when they arrive in San Juan will either head off on their own to see the various sights or arrange to see them with a tour guide. There is a third option which I stumbled upon the other day, and that is to see the sights with a National Park Ranger. There are several tours available both in English and Spanish, unfortunately though, they are only available on certain days of the week. But, if you are here in San Juan on the days that the tours are offered, it might be worth checking them out. Note: for most of these tours there is a maximum of 30 people. The Fortification Walk: This is the tour if you would like to learn more about how the fortifications helped protect the Spaniards for over 350 years. The ranger will take you on a 2-3 mile walk through Old San Juan and the tour lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. The English tour takes place on Saturdays at 10am from the main plaza of San Cristóbal. The Spanish version of the tour takes place on Sundays at 10am from t

Tait sets sights on another title
INJURED Shaun Tait is yet to bowl after surgery but remains confident of taking his place in Australia's inaugural Twenty20 World Championship campaign in South Africa in September. Tait had an operation on his right elbow in June and said today he was still a few weeks away from bowling again. But he says he's on target to play in the Twenty20 tournament and Australia's October tour of India, which includes seven ODIs. The South Australia fast bowler was in Melbourne today to launch ticket sales to upcoming international cricket around the country, including Test series against Sri Lanka and India, the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy against New Zealand, and two Twenty20 matches in Perth and Melbourne. Among the fastest bowlers in the world, Tait was one of the stars of Australia's memorable World Cup triumph in West Indies, taking 23 wickets in 11 matches. He said he hoped to get the chance to be part of another global success - the Twenty20 World Championship - but tha

Google Sets Sights on Business E-Mail
The decision by Google to purchase the messaging security firm Postini for $625 million suggests an acknowledgment by the Mountain View-based Web giant that, before it can fully compete with Microsoft in the office suite market, it needs to beef up its security technology. "Since launching Google Apps last August, companies of all sizes have experienced the benefits of delivering simple, useful hosted applications to their employees," said Rajen Sheth, the product manager for Google Apps, Google's collection of online hosted applications. According to a Google press release, an estimated 1,000 businesses per day are signing up for the Google Apps service each day. "However," Sheth conceded, "larger organizations are frequently forced to choose between taking advantage of the latest innovations that will make employees more productive and ensuring security and corporate compliance." Ancient monuments and sights in Hamneda
Within and in the vicinity of Hamneda are many sites and monuments that are worth seeing. Most of these are grave fields but here are also rune stones, as I presented in an earlier post, the ruin of a medieval church and a royal farmstead (with the meaning that the farm belonged to the crown not that the King lived here).   Raa 41 in Hamneda parish. Photo Magnus Reuterdahl. The grave fields Raa 41 and 43, also known as Elinge grave field, are separated by a road. On the north side on a small hill is Raa 41, it contains 27 graves; 24 mounds and three round stone settings. On the south side on yet a higher hill and down its hillside is Raa 43; it contains 62 mounds, whereof eight has a small groove around them, in Swedish fotränna, the size of the groove is consistent with a pair of feet, and five round stone settings. The grave field are dated to the Iron Age most probably the late Iron Age. On Raa 41 two rune stones (Sm 32 and 33) found in Hamneda medieval church are erected. Raa 4

Sequim Vacation and Sequim Area Sights
This post is sponsored by Best Hawaii Vacation BlogDear Sequim visitors,Today, we noticed that lots of visitors checked in last night at the rooms and the cottages of the Sequim West Inn where we are staying right now for our transition before we can move into our new Sequim town house. Good news it's supposed to happen soon, maybe even in 2 weeks, bad news that our current vacation rental cottage is at a very bad location, next to laundromat! Even when it closes at 9:30pm, some awfully noisy generator comes on during sleeping hours. No sleeping without ear plugs possible. So, if you consider one of the fully equipped cottages at the Sequim West Inn for your next Sequim vacation, ask for a rental cottage on the left side, away from laundromat!Anyway, with May looking around the corner - weather is nice and sunny today - Sequim gets busy with weekend visitors enjoying the great outdoors and all the fun activities Sequim and area have to offer. Here are some great Sequim vacation links

National Article Features Portland Sights & Sounds
So this post isn’t much about real estate at all; it has more to do with visiting Portland and what to check out.A homebuyer from California that I’ve been helping relocate, recently stayed at the Kennedy School while house hunting. And over the weekend, The New York Times ran an article about Portland which caught my eye because it mentioned the Kennedy School. Here are some excerpts from the article (which kind of, sorta mentions Portland’s neighborhoods): “NICE” is an adjective that Portland, Ore., can't seem to shake. But below the fleece-clad and Teva-wearing exterior lurks a cool and refreshingly unneurotic city that marches to its own cosmopolitan beat. Truth is, Portland doesn't want to be Seattle, its highly caffeinated neighbor to the north. With less traffic, better public transportation and Mount Hood in its backyard, this self-styled City of Roses doesn't stand in anybody's shadow. Its vibrant downtown overflows with urban pleasures like chic restaurants, fu
