The Proenza Schouler sping 2008 collection for was all about the Safari look. The collection was filled with military inspired jackets and vests in neutral and muted colors. It was all about layering vests in different shades and accessories. The masculine collection was balanced by the full 'ice skating' skirts. Models' outfits were completed with belts, platforms and patent pumps. I loved the entire collection; however, my favorite look was this neutral ensemble. The look is so simple and versatile. The nature of my work takes me to lots of places all over the State of Sarawak and at these places, there are always interesting things to discover. Look at what I discovered during my recent visit to Mukah Division, located at the central part of Sarawak. We took the plane to Bintulu, drove south then east for about 4 hours to reach Mukah, the divisional administration center of Mukah Division.

Various types of food are provided by Da Pai Dang, say, dishes are fried by wok, a Chinese type of cooking pan, with shape of V; steaming of fresh sea-food; won-ton noodle; Chinese style congee or rice etc.Nowadays, some of the Da Pai Dang are moving to indoor, with air-conditioning, however, the street-side eating culture can represent Hong Kong style, so Da Pai Dang are still be found in some area of the city.These booths located in Chai Wan, an indoor wet market, without air-condition, therefore, they still keeping the traditional culture: "seems to be dirty".

A local antique store holds a truck load sale every two weeks. Store employees unload the truck, filling a small wagon with seven or eight boxes of goodies at a time. The boxes are lined up along the storefront. Nothing is priced. The boxes are full of all kinds of vintage items. Linens. Books. Glassware. Pottery. Tools. Radio tubes. Customers are not allowed to touch anything in the wagon, and they cannot dig through the boxes, until the last box is set down. When the wagon is completely unloaded, all hell breaks loose. Arms flail, hips bump and grind, feet stomp and get stomped as customers claw their way through the feeding frenzy. If two hands grab the same item, it's a tug of war, with the plunder generally going to the beefier picker.
