For me, “Marquee Moon” by Television is one of those albums I’ve always heard raved about, but never got around to listening to. I finally forced it into my ears a couple weeks ago and the ears did not resist. It’s a great album from start to finish, so I see why it makes all those “best of..” lists. Throughout the album I heard traces of the Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown sound, which piqued my interest, but my ears really perked up when I was listening to “Elevation” and realized that Dan and Spencer may have borrowed from this song. The whole tune sounds like it could be a Wolf Parade song, but there is one part in particular that makes me think the boys are Verlaine fans. Last week Sony announced a 40GB PS3 for Europe. Today Sony took the wraps off a new 40GB model for Japan, available in traditional black and new Ceramic White. The 40GB model has even been confirmed for Australia but so far no announcement has been made about the new model's availability in North America.Many believe that this announcement is imminent and now The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the 40GB PS3 will arrive in North America on the 2nd of November. Citing an 'industry source,' The Hollywood Reporter says the new model will also feature two USB ports, no memory card slot and lack of PS2 backward compatibility. It is rumoured that it will retail at $399, quite a bit cheaper than the 80GB PS3 which sells for $599. The 60GB model has already been discontinued in North America.

Hi all,As an artist I’m always on the lookout for ideas. (Aren’t we all?) Influences coming in all manner of guises, be it the work of someone I admire (the list is endless) a scene I see whilst out for a walk, a movie, or perhaps quite often a photograph. I’ve always been fascinated by ariel photos where landscapes take on that patchwork quilt effect, or those satellite images where entire coast lines are reduced to abstract shapes…ready material for the painter to capture, conjure and metamorphosize into something with a distinct ShirleyBod spin! What I love about Distant Shores is that it can work both as a purely abstract piece, free of deliberate form or subject matter, as well as working as an interesting interpretation of one of those ‘on high’ views of some shoreline (red sea aside!) Not only is it astonishing to hear from them, but to hear these great words they have to say about what Im doing. Im definitely leaning towards doing something after this trip that encourages other peers to follow their dream and what not. So anyways I was greeted in Seabrook, NH by Parker, his family, and his friend Sean. They greeted me with some delicious pasta, garlic bread, and my favorite summer time treat strawberry shortcake. In addition to great food I was greeted with great company, great conversation, and great enthusiasm. What a perfect night, it couldnt have been better. August 18, 2006After a simple breakfast Maggie Ann went out for an errand. Paul and I were going to take a walk but we started talking to Stewart. He got more and more interesting as we listened. He's been an avid sailor since he was a young boy in Australia. When he lost his parents he was accepted on board a ship, along with many other boys, as part of the crew of a ship that became very famous during World War II. His very good friend (like a son) Dario Francitti (number 2 in Indy 500 circuit) and his wife, Ashley Judd, surprised him on his birthday last year with a tour of the very same ship he worked on as a child. According to him he corrected the tour guide about every aspect of the ship. Rooms had been labelled wrong and many other facts were off. In essence he became the tour guide. He showed us digital pictures from this day (including aforementioned famous people). Maggie Ann gave him a fabulous cake in the shape of the ship (ship-shape!) He told us many excitin

An internal Apple e-mail has been reported to have been leaked by an over-excited Apple team member, detailing the release date for the iPhone.
