Cindy Sheehan: Impeach Pelosi for collaboration with Bush administration on torture
by Abdus-Sattar Ghazali Newark, CA: Peace activist, Cindy Sheehan says that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi collaborated with the Bush administration in condoning torture because Pelosi knew about water boarding torture since 2002. “Even before becoming Speaker of the House of Representative, she said that impeachment of Bush is out of question.” She should be impeached for knowing about torture

Revolution is the Solution By Cindy Sheehan
One of the founders of the USA, Thomas Jefferson, said that the US should have a revolution every 20 years or so because "lethargy" is the "forerunner to the death of liberty." Many more wars and the suppression of our liberties later, President John F. Kennedy said: "Those who make peaceful change impossible, make violent revolution inevitable." Exactly a year before his assassination (and 36 years before Casey Sheehan's death in Iraq), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr said that our nation needs a "revolution of values." We at Cindy for Congress agree with these statements. We have been first-hand witnesses to the suppression of protest and freedom of speech here in the USA. We have been on the receiving end of police abuse and harassment and we have lost two loved ones to the war mac

      Terrorists Thank Cindy Sheehan
Islamists: Sheehan 'gives us hope' U.S. will change Mideast policiesMuslim terrorist leaders are "thankful" for the efforts of activist and congressional candidate Cindy Sheehan, stating in a new book Sheehan's anti-Iraq war activities and her statements against President Bush "give us hope" the U.S. will change its Mideast policies. "You [Sheehan] give us hope and you show us that there are different Americans than those whom we know," stated Ramadan Adassi, chief of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group in the West Bank's Anskar Refugee Camp. "This sincere woman says what we've been saying all these last years - Saddam never threatened America or its security. Now Iraq is being decimated and America is losing. Voices like Sheehan's show things can change," said Adassi. Adassi and other terror leaders were quoted sounding off about Sheehan in the recently released "Schmoozing with Terrorists: From Hollywood to the Holy Land Jihadists Reveal their Global Plans - to a Jew!," b

Will Democrats Still Embrace Cindy Sheehan?
Cindy Bashes The Democratic Party Remember she said she would quit... I was a lifelong Democrat only because the choices were limited. The Democrats are the party of slavery and were the party that started every war in the 20th century, except the other Bush debacle. The Federal Reserve, permanent federal income taxes, not one but two World Wars, Japanese concentration camps, and not one but two atom bombs dropped on the innocent citizens of Japan -- all brought to us via the Democrats.Don't tell me the Democrats are our "saviors" because I am not buying it -- especially after they bought more caskets and more devastating pain when they financed and co-facilitated more of President Bush's abysmal occupation. The Democrats also are allowing a meltdown of our republic by allowing the evils of the executive branch to continue unrestrained by their silent complicity.Good change has happened during Democratic regimes, but as in the civil rights and union movements, the positive changes o

Dennis Kucinich and Cindy Sheehan: Republicans’ New Hope for Winning the 2008 Presidential Election
The Democrats may have unleashed a hornet’s nest of harsh criticism that may be impossible to impede. This time the condemnation is not coming from Conservatives, but from the liberal lunatic base. Recently, after realizing that the Democrats only care about power, Cindy Sheehan announced the possibility of running against Nancy Pelosi for the House of Representatives in the next election. Sheehan conditioned her running on whether or not Nancy Pelosi impeaches George Bush and brings the soldiers home from Iraq. While this threat will never cause Nancy Pelosi to bend, it does have very important implications for the 2008 Presidential Election. Like Ralph Nader’s impact in the 2000 election, Sheehan and her supporters may stay home in 2008 or vote for an unelectable third candidate. Consequently, the Democrats will be forced to seek independent voters to come to their side, which often leads to disappointment. Moreover, this recent phenomenon with Sheehan and Pelosi is ve

"Good Riddance Attention Whore" by Cindy SheehanCindy Sheehan's promised retirement from political activism appears to have been all too brief. The so-called "peace mom" is threatening to run against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in her San Francisco district in 2008. As a candidate, in the area of personal achievements, Sheehan's résumé is a blank. Her only credential isn't even her own. It's the death of her son, Casey, in service to his country in Iraq. Her driving force is a pathological hatred of George W. Cindy Sheehan Moves Closer to Bid Against Nancy Pelosi
You just have to love it when the Democrats start eating their own. In this case it is Cindy Sheehan, the so called mother of the anti-war movement, thats become disenchanted with Nancy Pelosi and the new Congress's lack of action in the oh so desired impeachment of President George Bush. Cindy Sheehan represents all that is wrong with the radical left in that they genuinely think that they should be able to impeach President Bush, not for any high crimes or misdemeanors committed, as stated in law, but just because...they don't like him. Typical of the touchy feely left. And while I don't think she really has a chance in hell against Bela Pelosi it will at least be a distraction and might keep Pelosi sidetracked from pushing other items on her San Francisco socialists agenda. ~RJH Fox News article link Cindy Sheehan Moves Closer to Bid Against Nancy PelosiTuesday, July 10, 2007CRAWFORD, Texas — Cindy Sheehan bid farewell to her former "peace camp" near President Bush'

      Cindy Sheehan vs Nancy Pelosi
So Cindy Sheehan resigned her fictional post as leading war protester to pursue a new career in politics. She has decided on extorting an impeachment proceeding from Nancy Pelosi by saying basically, “if you don’t do what I want I will run against you in the next election.” I’m sure this has Nancy Pelosi shaking in her Birkenstocks. Right? I don’t know about anyone else, but I am sure looking forward to this battle. I hope she does run and is competetive. You never know what can happen. Here in New Hampshire an unknown named Carol Shea-Porter was able to un-seat incumbent Representative Jeb Bradley because he took her lightly. This should be fun. Cindy Sheehan can’t be any worse for the country than Nancy Pelosi already is. I can’t wait for the hilarity that is bound to insue. One thing I already find funny is that in Sheehan’s list of reasons for impeachment one of them is hurricane Katrina. Unbelievable. This should be fun.

Cindy Sheehan, Resignation is Not an Option
The Left’s encomiums of Cindy Sheehan, after announcing her “retirement”, have been non-stop. Even many on the Right have praised Sheehan for “opening her eyes” in her retirement from nationwide antiwar campaigning. But these praises sound more like eulogies than any kind of serious reflection on Cindy Sheehan and, more importantly, the American antiwar movement. Sheehan’s Role in Reviving the Antiwar Movement Before Cindy Sheehan’s peace encampment and protest, the antiwar movement was in a definite lull. Large-scale protests like those that occurred pre-invasion were not a common occurrence, and activists were hoping that a Democrat victory in 2004 would mean troop withdrawal from Iraq. However, after Kerry’s defeat, many activists were experiencing burnout, feeling resigned that his defeat was also one for the antiwar movement. That changed when, in August 2005, Cindy Sheehan helped charge the movement once more with her famous enc

However, when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the “left” started labeling me with the same slurs that the right used. I guess no one paid attention to me when I said that the issue of peace and people dying for no reason is not a matter of “right or left”, but “right and wrong.” I am deemed a radical because I believe that partisan politics should be left to the wayside when hundreds of thousands of people are dying for a war based on lies that is supported by Democrats and Republican alike. It amazes me that people who are sharp on the issues and can zero in like a laser beam on lies, misrepresentations, and political expediency when it comes to one party refuse to recognize it in their own party. Blind party loyalty is dangerous whatever side it occurs on. People of the world look on us Americans as jokes because we a

Pro-Troop Group Plans to buy Cindy Sheehan’s Land in Crawford Texas
When Cindy Sheehan retired from whatever the hell she was doing, I guess it was her job as a professional protester, she said she would sell her property next to President Bush’s ranch that was used for war protesters for any reasonable offer. Now a group has stepped forward. Move America Forward, which bills itself as the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, says it plans to buy the land near President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, where Cindy Sheehan has waged her anti-war protests. The group said it plans to build a monument to America’s war heroes on the five-acre site. A sketch of the planned monument shows a pillar topped by a cross. “This land has been used as a staging ground for anti-war activists to denounce and denigrate the heroic service of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces,” said Melanie Morgan, chairman of Move America Forward. “It is our intention to turn this around and make this a site that

      I Support Cindy Sheehan
When the news came down on Memorial Day that anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was resigning as the "face" of the anti-war movement it was painful to read, but it didn't surprise me that much. Like Cindy, I am opposed to the Iraq War which led me to join the Jonathan Tasini campaign for U.S. Senate in January 2006. He ended up as the only candidate opposing Senator Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primary to challenge her support for the Iraq War. Cindy Sheehan endorsed his candidacy and I had the privilege of meeting her last June. Why do I say privilege? No other American citizen who opposed the Iraq War tried as hard as her to help bring an end to the Iraq War. In her resignation letter on her DailyKos blog titled "Good Riddance Attention Whore" she points out for everyone exactly what s

Cindy Sheehan And A Tendency Toward Hope
I haven't posted here before, and have been mostly getting to know some of you. I'm not sure of the etiquette or the protocols involved- of what to post and when. I am posting because I think that perhaps many of you share the sense of loss about Cindy Sheehan's decision to "go back to normalcy". Truth is, I dont want her in "normalcy". I want her to stay where she was, where she is needed, to be the person that so many of us can't be for a variety of reasons- a real activist. And one who articulates what we are feeling on our behalf. Some of us at The Peace Train decided to take some time this week to post a "tribute" of sorts, to reflect on Cindy Sheehan's role in the anti-war movement and the importance of her simple question. I hope you don't mind my choice to do this here. Her question haunts us, because it really sets the stage for the bigger question which is essentially: When is war justified? What CONSTITUTES a 'noble cause'?And how do our feelings about the standards we

      Cindy Sheehan Steps Down
The funny thing here is, what the hell is she resigning from? She has no job, she is a professional protester. She does get one thing right in her resignation letter though, and that’s how quickly the left turned on her when she decided they weren’t ending the war fast enough. She started to focus her attention away from President Bush and started focusing it on the newly elected Democrats. That’s when the far left said woah, woah, woah,….wait a minute here, you can’t hold us to the same standards as the president.  She was then abandoned. They want to end the war, but more importantly they want to do more Bush-bashing. Isn’t it funny how when she was protesting the president the media had Sheehan-mania, we saw her every move, you couldn’t turn the TV on without seeing her, but when she started going after the Democrats she wasn’t seen on television any more? She goes on to say: Good-bye America …you are not the country that I

      Cindy Sheehan's Last Stand
Lauded by the left and loathed by the right, Cindy Sheehan has decided to pack her bags and go home, ending a nearly three-year long protest to end the Iraq war. In the wake of the Iraq funding battle in which the Democrats decided to give the President money for the war, Sheehan, frustrated, gave up and headed home.I had always found myself defending Cindy Sheehan, even as I shook my head in disbelief at her actions sometimes. Every time I'd consider turning my back on her, I was reminded of my mother, who once told me she wouldn't know how she'd respond if I joined the military and died in Iraq and it's very likely she might stand next to Cindy at Camp Casey. I am, after all, her only son and only child. I cut Cindy some slack, as a mother who lost her son in a war she opposed and kept quiet, even after her son died until she couldn't take it anymore. She exemplified what's so great about America; a patriot, standing up for what she believed in, even in the face of strong oppos

Tina Richards is Nancy Pelosi’s Cindy Sheehan
Does Nancy Pelosi have her version of Cindy Sheehan? That is the question posed in the above linked article. From the article: It was in the summer of 2005 that the Bush Administration began to lose the support of the American public for the war in Iraq. A principal catalyst of this momentous transformation was the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq. Casey Sheehan’s mother Cindy Sheehan famously camped outside the President’s ranch in Texas and demanded a meeting with him. I disagree with this paragraph, I don’t believe this is what caused the American people to turn against the war. I believe we live in a soundbite world, people are only interested in instant gratification nowadays. As the war drags on people lose interest, they grow tired of it and then oppose it, people are ready to move on. Job complete or not. The constant barrage of negative stories on the news with no mention of any of the good being performed also turns people. We only hear stories about our so

Cindy Sheehan Says Democrats Aren’t Doing Enough To Stop The War
Cindy Sheehan is ripping into the Democrats for not doing enough to end the war. She says they have betrayed her. She and the rest of the far left anti war crowd are where the Democrats have their biggest problem. A timetable for defeat isn’t good enough for them.Nothing short of immediate withdrawal is acceptable to them. Of coarse the Democrats know this would be political disaster. They know that they were not elected strictly to put an end to the war.If they were they would cut the funding and end it. Far left anti war people wanted to believe they would end the war, but they don’t have the courage. The truth is the Democrats used the culture of corruption to get themselves elected. Now that they are in there and won’t stop the war, their base, which is the anti war crowd, is growing disillusioned with them. Read about Cindy Sheehan here.

NOTE: It has been pointed out to me that this story was posted as satire, and is not something that actually happened. After checking again myself, that is correct. I missed the fact it was posted as satire, and for that I apologize. But the fact that Pelosi has proposed some other ridiculous things of late (i.e. Murtha and Hastings for key positions) made it easy for me to believe this satirical story. You just can't make this stuff up. Nancy Pelosi is actually promoting anti-war loon Cindy Sheehan for the post of Ambassador to Ireland. "In eight hundred years under the British, the Irish learned to respect a rebel," the California congresswoman said. "Cindy is just that: a tireless crusader for justice. Plus, she's a strong Irish woman, just like Maureen O'Hara in The Quiet Man."
