Burgess' knee, Sharpe gets the arse, Foles rolls
OK, I'm a little late on the 28 man squad for the South African tour, but hey, everything works a bit slower in rural France. The big upsets are: 1 - Luke Burgess is out with a small tear in his miniscus (knee), sustained in training. While Burgo hasn't yet fully aclimatised to international rugby, he still injects a level of speed and dynamism that we'll need. He's not back till at best the...

Rocky Sharpe And The Replays - Rama Lama Ding Dong (1978)

My Trip Review - Springfield, Missouri, USA - Matt and Xandra Sharpe - May 2008
Yay for the Jungle Dome! What to say? There are not enough words to describe the experience we had at the Jungle Dome. The Dome is so beautiful but the people make it extra special. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic! We really felt at home here. We came here for a little vacation. My husband is the one who really wanted to come to Belize. I’m not a fan of hot, humid

      Sharpe Ratio
Sharpe RatioSharpe Ratio DefinitionThe Sharpe Ratio was created to measure performance after being adjusted for risk. The Sharpe Ratio allows investors to determine how returns were obtained whether it’s due to excess risk assumed on the asset or hedge fund portfolio or if returns were obtained through intelligent planned investment selections. If a portfolio or asset has a high Sharpe ratio then that portfolio or asset has returns that were very successfully risk-adjusted.Sharpe ratio measures risk to reward ratio and whether the returns of a specific asset or portfolio have properly compensated for the amount of risk undertaken. The higher the Sharpe Ratio = returns are more and more risk adjusted = desirableWant something more meaty? Here is a whitepaper on the Sharpe Ratio by William

Good Super Bowl pick Shannon Sharpe...
Week 3 is almost complete and certain teams are starting to show what they're made of while others are still somewhat of an enigma. After giving it some thought, I broke it down like this...A few teams out there are just plain bad. The Vikings need a quarterback like I need a life, the Chiefs need just about everything, the Raiders and Browns are painful to watch while the Falcons, Dolphins and Bills look to be positioning themselves for that first overall pick. When I was saying that Miami and Atlanta are the two worst teams in football, I seemed to forget about Buffalo and that they also fit into that category.Oh, and let's not forget about St. Louis. They really, really suck donkey balls. Awesome Super Bowl pick Shannon Sharpe. We got a few teams out there that are really, really good. The Colts just keep on winning, the Patriots are flat out blowing teams away, with and without the aid of cameras. The Steelers are solid and over in the NFC, the Cowboys and Packers look to be for r

      Sharpe Ratio
The Sharpe Ratio is a formula used to measure risk/return. The ratio describes the amount of extra return received for the extra volatility of a more risky asset. The higher the Sharpe Ratio, the greater returns are for each unit of risk. The Sharpe Ratio is calculated by subtracting the risk free rate or return from the return of the portfolio and then dividing by the portfolio's standard deviation. By using the Sharpe Ratio, investors can theoretically compare risk adjusted returns of investments or portfolios that have different returns and risk levels. The higher the ratio is the better.FormulaE = Expected ValueR = Expected Portfolio ReturnRf = Risk Free RateThe numerator of the ratio is the expected return that an asset is expected to provide above the risk free rate. The denominator is the portfolio's standard deviation. Standard deviation is the square root of the variance of the portfolio. Possible outcomes fall within standard deviations. Possible returns are most likely with

Cowher to Spit on Shannon Sharpe Next Year
The great site Awful Announcing sends over the juicy nugget that Bill Cowher will be joining the CBS pregame show next season. Cowher will work alongside Dan Marino, Shannon Sharpe, Boomer Esiason, James Brown, and Charley Casserly while being mentioned for every available NFL job in 2008. Good thing Cowher won Super Bowl 40, for Esiason would surely remind him of his failure to close the deal on every possible occasion.
