Why I'm a Shalom Auslander Fan
The thing is, you get fewer and fewer real writers these days. I discovered Shalom Auslander quite by chance. Caught in a bad mood, I was frantically browsing the net one day when I stumbled upon his columnA Terrible Experience. I wanted to read just the first paragraph, but I was gripped. It had so much funny kind of punch that I found myself reading through it. And I loved the piece absolutely.

      Shalom to Klaus Wowereit
Not many people who live in big cities get to see their mayor very often. Even in our city, which has a population of around 400,000, we only catch the mayor occasionally when we happen to dine at the most expansive restaurant Refael (you can find it here, under the section “a rich uncle is paying”), of which he’s a regular visitor. But on our meager 3 weeks total in Berlin, we happened to come across Berlin’s mayor live, on display. And we are enthralled. (more…)

      Shabbat shalom!
Shabbat shalom! Hope everyone has a relaxing Shabbat. Remember that on Sunday it is Yom Hashoah a day to remember all those who died in the Shoah (Holocaust).Kaddish (mourners prayer):"Glorified and sanctified be G-d's great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will.May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon;and say, Amen.May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.BBC information:http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/juda

Shalom everyone.I have not write for a long time. and the reason is we didnt not have internet. but we get back internet yesterday. until that you did not miss much. its not war anymore. we have so called peace, many people have died, i dont know the exat number, but many civilian have died.i just dont understand why some people hide behind innocent people. they attack and then they run to houses and hide there, and the goverment does not care, they only shoot at the house.some militia men enter the house with force, and stay there until it is safe to leave. It is a sad case. for the past 72 hours we have not herd any fighting, people starting to go out, and school have reopened. and the main market is also open, when the market is open, then it is safe to go out. Like i writed before in my erlier post, some are afraid that another hawiye vs darood war will start again, because the somali goverment are bringing trops from the north east somalia, whitch is a darood land, and the trops

Shalom Everyone. So nice to be here again. The sitution is not getting any better. people are scared. and more and more are leaving the city. because of fear of new attacks. Today is shabat. and hopefully it will be a peacefull shabat. barukh hashem i am not living the part of mogadisho whitch is under attack. the main marknad called "bakaraha" was closed today. one member of the somali goverment a minister said in intervjue that they wont only ask help from the ethiopian goverment, they would also ask help from the "yahud" meaning israel if they need it. it is funny to hear those kind of intervjue, i think he only said it, just to upset the Islamic courts, somalia is part of the arab league, if they got some help from israel, the arab league would cut their donation to the goverment. and possibly exclude them from the arab league.whats else to write about? my life is very boring these two days. i have notting to do. i have release that i need to paint my room because of boredom.that

Hello everyonei hope you all are doing good. i did not write any blogg yesterday. i wanted to logg on, but i take so long time to get online and the page took a long time to reload. so i give upp. but right now it is working very good. i thin i understand now how it work. late time the internet go very fast, but around afternoon time it go very slow.maybe it is because to many people use in afternoon. the weather was ok today. not to hot. i wanted to go to the beach but i did not go. i will do it tomorow or on monday. i love going to the ocean, it so big and you can dream away, dream about sail away on a long distance trip.Notting is new with mogadishu politic. everything is the same. though the international airport is heavly guarded. around 500 ethiopian and ugandian are stationed there. i can for 100% say that mogadisho airport is the safest place in city now.yesterday was shabat. and soon it will be pasekh. i am looking forward for it. sometime i wish if there was more people to

      Shalom from Mogadishu
Hi everyone.Thank you so much for the comment that you are writing. there is always gonna be bad persons as xassan. but there is good people as well. Today the weather was hot in Mogadishu. the weather is always nice here. but sometime it can get a little bit rain. but thar is nice that too, sometime the heat of Mogadishu need to cool down. I recived emails about how life is in mogadishu from a econimical view? there is rich and poor people here, and alot of people who are in the middle.Life is very cheap here, one of the reason is because we dont pay any taxex. and the reason is there is no one to pay taxex to. the goverment of somalia does not have enough power to collect taxex. you see poor family that have a phone line in their house, i can connect to the internet anytime i want for 15 dollar a month. and that is very cheap. and the phone line cost 10 dollar a month. and making call cost around under 1 us dollar.so living in mogadisho is cheap. but the hard thing is there is no p

Tomorow is shabat. and i want to wish everyone a shabat shalom. event o my moslim friends. :)well the major news in Mogadishu today is that, a speech by the co called commander of ICU (ISLAMIC COURT UNION) on a Mogadishu radio, said that the somali youth should fight the unbelievers in Somalia. and attack the Ethiopian and uganda force. it is scary to hear this kind of tapes. i am sorry to say. but i am afraid that somalia will become just like iraq. people who blow them self in the air. just to in the name of "jihad". Yesterday, until 12 o clock in the night the ugandian force were attacked by militia grope. no one kno

Lilith, Night Light & Shalom Zachar
From AskMoses:Several different explanations are offered for the custom of shalom zachar:1) It is a thanksgiving meal. We are offering thanks to G-d that the baby was born safe and sound. Birth (especially in the past) was a very dangerous time for the(mother and) baby, so we thank G-d that the baby survived this ordeal.12) We come to console the child who has just forgotten all the Torah he studied while in his mother's womb (see Niddah 30b). For this reason many people serve beans or chickpeas at the Sholom Zochor, since these are foods served at the house of a mourner.3) According to Kabbalah, a child is not ready to be circumcised until he has gone through a Shabbat, for the Shabbat provides the infant with the spiritual power necessary to enter into a lasting covenant with Hashem. (This is (one of) the inner reasons why the Brit is on the eight day, to ensure that a Shabbat passes). For this reason we make a special celebration on the Shabbat after the baby is born.2 [The advanta
